Breakfast was wonderful, I could see the colosseum from my window, and it was in a very convenient location. Walking distance from archaeological sites and bus stop. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and air-conditioned, and the staff were helpful. I also liked the fact they provided dinner with a set menu, I didn't try it but it sounded delicious. Even so, I ate in the area near the pantheon and had no trouble walking back, about 10 minutes. Also great location if you do a night walking tour of the colosseum. The staff were all incredibly friendly, accommodating and helpful. In terms of bathroom size, the shower was decent, great pressure, and hot water was immediate. Do not be deterred by comments on small bathroom sizes, because I stayed in hotels from milan to rome and the bathrooms were all the same size. I think bathrooms in Italy are always small because of the way the old buildings are set out. Would definitely recommend this hotel, there were a few families staying here. Also there is the most beautiful terrace!!!!! To sit out on, particularly in summer, and read a book or rest your feet. Also the room is big enough to compensate for 'small bathroom' size.

Friends stayed here many years ago, and it came highly recommended for its friendly service and convenient location. We were not disappointed on either fronts. The front desk was incredibly helpful, the free Internet was a real plus (and it worked consistently), and the Metro and bus lines were not too far. We also found some good restaurants in the neighborhood. I would agree with some of the other reviewers, however, about the tight quarters, and in our case, a pretty substandard bathroom (the shower doors were plastic and difficult to maneuver shut). While the common areas are nicely appointed, this is by no means a plush hotel. Luckily we did not plan to spend much time in our room, so those issues were not significant.

The location of Hotel Lancelot is great. The front desk is very helpful. Breakfast is royal. I did not eat at the hotel, so cannot comment on the kitchen.
My only reservation was the size of the room. I was alone, so had a single room, but it was small with a tiny bathroom. No bath, only a shower.
It is walking distance from the Colloseum and everything else historically Roman in the neighbourhood. I was there for an FAO meeting, and the FAO Office is also walking distance. And in the evenings, I ate at a different local restaurant every night - and all were very genuine and nice!
Overall a good couple of days, but I cannot give this hotel an excellent rating! Sorry.

A warm welcome here from Mrs Khan and her very helpful staff. If you need to know anything about Rome the staff will help and this added greatly to our making the most out of stay.
We had a room on the 6th floor overlooking the Coliseum that was adequately sized and suitable for our three night stay. We bought the 3 night dinner package and found it to be outstanding value and as advertised we met some very nice fellow travelers. The breakfast was included in the room rate and though it did not have any cooked food it was more than adequate for our needs. Our room was very clean, the air conditioning worked well and was very quiet so we slept well. So we highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Rome.

Room Tip: Ours was great 61 but no knowledge of others

We enjoyed our stay here thoroughly.

Rooms were quiet, breakfast was excellent, less hotel rooms and therefore more intimidate, staff are excellent. The hotel is centrally located, near the colosseum. Buses and trains are near, restaurants are near.

The breakfast/dinner tables were shared tables unless you had a large family that could occupy every seat at the table. About 5-6 chairs. This encourage guests to make chit chat and get to know each other; made sense since it was a boutique hotel. Whether you like this is or not is up to you. The guests we met were lovely.

We would happily stay here again.

Located a stones throw from the Colosseum this hotel is perfectly situated for all the Rome sights. The staff a firendly and helpful. Ask and they will provide you suggested walking routes for you to see the different sights of Rome. The breakfast will give you a good foundation for your day. There are plenty of good (casual) restaurants in the streets around the hotel for dinner and there are cafes for lunch or drinks too. There is a small supermarket nearby too. I was travelling alone, but there were plenty of families (mainly US & UK) too.

My son and I stayed here last weekend and the hotel was fantastic. Set in a lovely quiet street just a stone's throw from the Colliseum, it was wonderfully peaceful and relaxed. Our room was well equipped and had air con. We only found the roof terrace on the last day but this was lovely with a good view to the Colliseum. Breakfast was good and the evening meal smelt wonderful - we ate out every night in one of the local pizza and pasta places nearby which were good value and good food. We would love to return!

Room Tip: Apparenty the rooms on the 6th floor with a view of the Colliseum and a terrace are the best ones...
