Trying to get away from the tourist traps restaurants often located close to tourist sights, using Trip Advisor as a guide, we went to Il Tunnel which was close to our hotel and a bit out of the tourist route. What a pleasure! Although not a five star restaurant, the dining room was simple, clean with a pleasant atmosphere. The table was covered with a real tablecloth with napkins also made of cloth and not paper. With the two or three words of Italian we know, we relied on the waiter whose knowledge of English or French was equal to our Italian to choose from the Italian menu. Our waiter, who was charming and friendly, (see photo) guided us in our choices. Since not knowingly we over ordered, He explained, as he could, that with the amount of bruschetta we ordered would not be able to eat anything else.
In all, service was quick, the bruschetta served on large slices of warm bread were great. My prosciutto/mushroom pizza was delicious and the fresh basil and tomato pasta my wife ordered was excellent. the wine was more then acceptable and very inexpensive. The whole thing with dessert and coffee for 46 Euros is hard to beat. In all a very enjoyable lunch and experience.

I went to this restaurant near Piazza Bologna with some friends during the Christmas holidays.
The place is quiet and the service is courteous. We've ordered different types of pizza. I took the "casareccia" that had the classic "margherita" as a base, plus slices of prosciutto (ham), parts of ricotta (soft white Italian cheese) and pepper on top. Not a common choice of pizza but it was tasty. The quality and the price are really competitive.

After late arrival to "Mercure piazza bologna" hotel, we got recomendation from hotel staff on this restaurant. Saturday evening it was 90% full, mostly of locals - we considered this to be good sign. We managed to get table on nice corner. Food seemed reasonable priced. Seafood pasta was very good, piza - as well. I ordered weal Milanese style - it was brutal and without taste. By asking receipt, we got handwritten piece of blocknote - oh, restaurant wanted to cheat and hide some taxes on poor tourists, cause all neighbourhood tables of locals has been getting normal cashier machine receipts. Nevermind, I asked for normal receipt, cause cuoldn't understood anything on this small piece of paper - except lump sum. This left some not very pleasant feeling. Also they said wine we ordered was finished, so managed to offer some replacement wine - OF COURSE more expensive.
So mixed feeling - reasonable priced as being not on tourist tracks, however tried to cheat on tourists - slightly, not very brutal way, but still. Piza is good and could be recomended.

Staff were very helpful. The food was beautiful, so good we ate here twice. Pizzas were lovely, fresh and crispy. I had sea bass which was perfect.
