“3 weeks in Italy, this was the only bad restaurants”
Reviewed 10 October 2013 via mobile

Service: Poor, neglected us. Not enough wait staff. Waited forever for everything. Finally had to find the manager to beg for a check which seemed to really piss him off. He certainly wasn't there for us. It was likely the servers were avoiding giving us the check because they were busy and didn't want another table to be seated.
Food: Steaks were almost devoid of seasoning and flavor and not all that tender. It became a chore to finish them. Zucchini blossoms were like grotesque knotted globs of breaded and deep fried cheese. They ruined the blossoms. In fact. itwas hard to find evidence of the blossom.
All the other restaurants in Italy were great. Gracious, funny, and helpful staff. Tasty, attractively served food. What's going on with this place?
This was by far the low point of our Italy dining. Considering that we didn't lose our passports during the trip or seriously injure ourselves, it was just about the low point of our entire holiday.

Ate here in Sep 2013 while visiting Rome. Excellent food! My only regret is that I didn't get back for a second visit. (Make reservations!)

“Good value”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

We went there at prime time Saturday evening without reservation. Although very busy they found us a table next to the visiting priests. The place was larger than I expected and full of local families and friends. Good atmosphere, very busy, good polite service. The food was good, certainly good value as you would pay a lot more for this standard in Rome.
Overall a very good experience.

“Rude staff diminishes the experience”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

After being recommended by the hotel staff I was anticipating an excellent meal. I found the restaurant to be lacking in many areas. I think what I felt most disappointed about was the quality of the meat, the meat is displayed prominently when you enter and the quality is not transferred to the finished product. The meat was tough, greasy and flavorless. Expect to be charged 3.80 euros for every 100 grams of steak weight with a minimum 600 grams. Of the many restaurants in the immediate area I would say the food is of decent quality although not a pleasurable dining experience due to rude staff who do not speak English well. Do not sit near the kitchen doors, the staff smoke in the kitchen and you will get a mouthful every time the doors open.
