Poor disinterested service.Miniscule helpings.
Expensive for what was put on the plate.E8 for a clear broth soup E 12 for 3 tiny veal rolls and E 5 for one contorni.
The mom and pop charm quickly wore off as I went away hungry, skipped desert and felt cheated. There was nothing wrong with mom's cooking skills per se..the food was fine but simple and not enough of it.

This is by far one of our favority places in Rome. True Italian Mom and Pop. Not fancy but spectacular food. A local favorite. The owners serve you and do so with love.

This place has lots of charm and is a classic Mom and Pop. Problem is they can 't cook and have a very limited menu. The only primi was rigatoni with tomato sauce which came before the antipasti I had ordered. Both were pedestrian. Stale bread. Find another Mom.

As Italy's culture & culinary taste change it good to know that there is a Trattoria run by a husband and wife with an interior that reminds me of the first trattoria I eat at in the 1960's. On the Via del Pellegrino(the old Via Papale that run through Medieval & Renaisance Rome) behind the Cancelleria you will find Trattoria Settimio. The place's mystic is its closed door and bell ringer! Mario will check who's out there and then will or will not let you in. Once inside you sit on old wooden chairs at old wooden tables. The menu is what is made that day. Since our apartment was around the corner we went there three time. First for lunch then for two dinners. Teresa orchestrates the kitchen sending out wonder classic Piatti alla Romana. I had wonderful pasta including on Sunday nite homemade fettuccine in a light tomato sauce. One entree that was memorable was a veal, most likely breast, stuffed & served in a light sauce. The other great entree was her Ossobuco. The meat fell off the bone and was served in a brown sauce with the taste of a typical battuta. I will be visiting my new friends when I return in May.

Better to look for another place to give your business to. This place is very simple, very small menu and choice of wine, small dishes (you need at least 3 to walk away filled), although cooked nicely, but they truly make you feel unwelcome by their uninterested and rude service.
