“Great hotel, horrendous location”
Reviewed 19 July 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 3 nights before travelling to Tuscany.
We arranged for the shuttle bus to collect us from Rome CIA airport and we had no problems, rang the hotel when we landed and he was there within 10mins. 5mins drive to hotel. The hotel itself is spotless, rooms cleaned everyday. Pool area was also very clean and quiet. My only problem with the room is that perhaps a kettle should be provided. Drinks (alcoholic and soft drinks) are available all day but fairly expensive (2€ for a can of fanta, sprite, coke etc and 6€ for a small bottle of lager). There is a small supermarket under the by-pass, (through a tunnel under the road. straight up the road next to the tunnel when you come out and take the 2nd left)were we bought reasonbly priced drinks and kept in fridge provided in room. We also found the hotel staff a bit awkward when paying for any drinks we did buy in the hotel. We wanted to pay upfront so we could watch what we spent but they wanted to add it all on a tab to be paid at the end of our stay.
The location of this hotel is horrendous. We found 2 shops and 2 bars (all closed by 9pm). You have to walk along main road which is a bit scary! Although it is made clear this hotel is on an industrial estate, we thought this was maybe exaggerated, but it really is. Meals in the hotel cost around 11€ for a main course but all that was offered was meat it fish with salad. A menu is provided in reception but we didn't try it so I can't comment on the quality. We spent every evening in our room as there is nothing else to do. Thank god for the fairly consistent WiFi!
All in all, nice, clean hotel but bad location. Don't think we could do more that 3 nights!

It was only a 5 min drive from the airport. We checked in very late and were given a small annex room out by the car park. The room was clean and had a fridge and air con. Breakfast was very basic.

Note that older Sat Navs may struggle as the road layout has changed. Google maps is now up to date.

Stayed in this hotel for few nights . It served its purpose. Clean and welcoming. Hotel has also a nice outdoor pool.

A no frills hotel with good bfast and spacious clean rooms

Just be warned that hotel is quite far from Rome centre and also to Lido di Ostia

We had a garden room which was ok. The room was clean and it had a fridge and a small TV. The wifi worked well during our stay. The hot water turned cold every time I showered. The air con didn't work and when I called the desk the guy said he would come and fix it, he never came. We figured out that the fuse box had been turned off and we fixed it our self. I think they turn it off on purpose so that you are unable to use it . We had a problem with the shuttle. We had emailed a few times to book the shuttle from the train on our arrival. We were told to call when we arrived at the station. We called and the girl told us that we would have to wait 45 minutes for the shuttle and to meet at the gas station across from the bus station. We lugged our bags up the stairs and across the bus station where a bus driver told us the gas station was across the street about a 5 minute walk. We waited on the curb at this gas station for 30 minutes and the shuttle didn't come. We then walked back to the train station and lugged our bags down the stairs ,called the hotel and were told that there are actually 3 gas stations and we had been waiting at the wrong one. The desk clerk still didn't give us directions on how to get to this Q8 station. Luckily we found a guy that worked in the station who spoke english and could give us directions. Another time the shuttle was dropping us off at the station and we asked the driver if we could book a shuttle back to the hotel later in the evening. He told us we would have to call. We asked him for the phone number for the hotel and he said "I have to go" and began to take off. We had to find a hotel downtown and they desk clerk there looked up the phone number for our hotel and wrote it down for us. Other wise we would have no way to book the shuttle back to the hotel and there is no way to walk as it is a freeway. The room isn't bad but it is a bit isolated from Rome. There is a large supermarket just 300 meters away which was handy.

I traveled to Rome with my boyfriend and grandparents last July.
Upon arrival we got a taxi from the airport (Fiumicino - Leonardo da Vinci airport of Rome) That was 1 hour away from the hotel! We thought that it was the closer airport only minutes away from the hotel! (Ciampino)
We payed around 90 euro for a taxi between four of us, and the driver was really friendly and took us straight to the Hotel!
Once we arrived the Receptionist was lovely! She gave us our key's and took us to our rooms.
Before arrived to the hotel, we had emailed the Hotel to request Pool view rooms, and this was no problem. We were allocated rooms on the second floor and we were not disappointed. Both of our rooms had air conditioning (Thank the lord!) and lovely large balcony's.
The rooms were both very clean and large.
We had read that the rooms were not equipped with kettles etc before booking. So we took our own travel kettle and it was a god send!!!!

Also upon arrival we were given a weeks worth of breakfast tokens each. So each morning we took our tokens down to breakfast with us. But nobody ever seemed to collect them until we had left. The breakfast food was lovely. Lost of fresh baked goods and plenty of choices to drink. Everything got topped up as soon as the waiter's had noticed food and drinks were running low.
Morning staff- Very friendly.
We ate at the hotel every night as there was no where about to eat (Hotel was quite far away from the center of Rome)
The 'head waiter' (who's name i cannot remember for the life of me) was a pleasure to talk to! Always friendly and charming and ready to help! He served us every night and there was never a problem with the food! The prices for evening food was reasonable and the bill was totted up and you pay at the end of the week.
The evening menu was a variety of food. But all enjoyable.
No food was served during the day, so staying at the hotel wasn't an option.

The pool was lovely and very quite. It was cleaned every morning (I seen him do so, so that was rather reassuring!) The water was very cold first thing in the morning, but after the Sun had been on it for an hour or so, it soon warmed up! Also there was a number of sun loungers on the terrace that had no need for reserving.

The hotel runs a shuttle service to the nearest 'tube' station to then go into Rome. You have to book this the night beforehand to arrange times to be Taken and collected.
They are happy to provide this service at allocated times of the day.

The area the hotel is situated is no where near the center of Rome.. actually its not near anything. The hotel is just a turning off the bypass. So if you do have a pool view room you can also see the busy road next to the hotel. But there is no noise from the road.
Also, there are no shops to go and walk around so unless you take a trip into Rome via shuttle+ tube, you are stuck at the hotel.

TOP TIP:
There is a super market round the corner from the hotel. Just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Take a left out of the hotel and then a left onto the bypass.
Yes you do have to walk down the bypass with no pavement or side walk. But the cars seemed very used to people walking down there and made room for you!

I would defiantly love to come back one day! Great staff, great weather, amazing city!

Room was big and had a balcony. It wasn't clean. Found a layer of dust on the chair when pulled it out from under the table, hair in the bathroom. Air cond. not working. You have to pay A LOT for tv. Receptionist was really in the mood - he wasn't really interested in guests at all. Next morning - very bad breakfast. Two thermoses with coffee - both empty. WHen asked for coffee - brought cacao. ... And no tea or coffee facilities in the room so it was a bad morning, and when we were checking out receptionist even didn't ask if everything was ok. I work in the hotel and I know what is a good service. This was NOT. 2* for the large room wioth balcony and free wifi.
