Close to the train station, metro and several excellent restaurants (La Gallina Bianca and Dagnino). Had a Junior Suite which was a great room. Would definitely recommend for the location alone but the hotel was wonderful as well!

Room Tip: Get a Junior Suite!

This was our second stay at this hotel last time on fourth floor, this time on eighth floor with three years between our trips. Very different experiences! Last time the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. This time our room was noisy - we were near the stairs in a deluxe room. There was a cold breeze blowing over the bed when the air conditioning was switched on. The room information was poor and we still don't know what the red cord in the bathroom was supposed to do. The tea tray sachets were not replaced and there was no milk provided to make tea. We will not be back.

Room Tip: Don't choose 818 if you want peace and quiet. It is very drafty from the air conditioning in be...

Great place to stay--we stayed there as part of our 3 city tour of Italy. Unlike our two prior hotels Starhotels Metropole was sleek and modern. The front desk staff was pleasant and bi-lingual. The buffet breakfast was fairly large but somewhat limited in selection, at least by American standards. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. I would stay here again.

This hotel offered everything I needed during my stay. The front-desk staff was friendly and accommodating and the rooms were nice and well appointed. Room was always cleaned well and on time. The complimentary breakfast was also nice. My only regret is that there weren't more English-language channels on the TV.

Hubby treated me for valentines to a long weekend in Rome. The hotel is beautiful, very plush and the rooms are gorgeous. The bar staff were very attentive and after a days sight seeing, it was great to be able to sit back and relax with a drink (or 2) before hitting the sack!! Hotel was within walking distance of most things (although be prepared to walk!!). My only advice would be to check out the restaurants before going to Rome as it's hard to find nice quality italian food, had a couple of cheap not so authentic meals which was a let down. Although can deffo recommend having a late lunch in the square opposite the pantheon - can't remember the name of the restaurant but it was very romantic sitting people watching, eating anti pasti and drinking the local wine :0) - something we still reminisce about today!! Rome
Is beautiful, full of romance and history we Can't wait to return, but next time will have a list of restaurants to visit to make our trip a very special one!

We had no idea that our trip was overlapping Easter Holidays and the canonization of two popes. There were no hotels to be found and we ended up booking this through a very talented travel agent. The hotel was very comfortable, 2 blocks from the Termini, restaurants on every corner with a great staff. What more can be said?
