As mentioned in previous posts the Location of this hotel is it's best point. the rooms are small, but clean. the staff are very helpful and the reception staff speak very good English.

Breakfast can get a little hectic, as most of the people staying there are tourists, and all have the same plans for the day, and want to start about the same time.

We had room 456 on the 5th floor, it had a small Balcony that was nice, but no view as such, as it faced the building opposite. the A/C was not switched on yet as the hotel said it was not hot enough, they probably turn it on about Easter time when the season starts, but having the balcony door open for fresh air, let all the street noise in, this can go on till about midnight.

2 minutes to the Trevi fountain one way and 2 minutes to the Pantheon the other way. with loads of tourist type restaurants all over the place. We had a large lunch one day and did not want a big dinner, so we went down to the small street that runs alongside the hotel towards the Pantheon, took the 12 Euro set meal. a pasta dish, choice of 5 main courses and a large glass of the house wine. was as good as some of the other meals we had eaten.

I would recommend this Hotel for its location, it is a 3star, clean and friendly, but we walked every where.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor, facing inwards, street noise is loud if you have a window open

Hotel Regno is ideal for those who want to view the sights of Rome. It is within 2 minutes of the Trevi Fountain and most of the other sights of note can be walked in 15 minutes. The hotel itself is basic but meets the needs of someone sightseeing. Rooms are clean but small as are the bathrooms. Not many rooms have views of any sort. There is a lift which is useful, particularly when you spent the day going up and down steps! Breakfast is continental but plenty of it, staff are friendly and helpful. Two doors from the hotel is a nice restaurant where you can have a reasonable meal with wine for 60 euros per couple. Another nice restaurant is the Hosterelia Pantheon. Turn left out of the hotel, take the first alley way on the left and just keep walking. You will walk across a large square, just keep walking, past all the other little restauarants and you will come to the Pantheon Square, the restaurant is the one on your left (it is the only one on its own in the square). Friendly staff, good food and wine, spend a couple of hours there, the food and wine will cost about 90 euro's per couple. The is also plenty of street entertainment to add to the ambience. The hotel is also close to some major shops, turn left out of the hotel and with 5 minutes walk you have three, yes THREE "Zara's" and plenty of other household name shops. Couple of other tips. A 100 minute ticket to ride the buses, trams and metro is 1.5 euro's. You can also get 1,3 or 5 day passes and if you intend to use the transport a lot these are best value. The Hop on Off Sightseeing bus will set you back 16 euro's each for three days per person, this is really good value as it takes you past all the places of interest, hop off, see it, then hop on to the next one and so on for 3 days. One final tip is the Vatican. We went on a Tuesday. We queued for 10 minutes to get in and it was free! If you want to go up to the top of the dome this will cost you 7 euro's. Outside you will be offered "Beat the q and orgainised tickets" These can cost you 50 plus euro's, AVOID.

Lovely centrally located hotel. Small rooms and even smaller bathrooms but certainly made up for the fantastic 6th floor terrace complete with table, chairs and sunloungers. (Room 662) Helpful staff. Spotlessly clean and a great breakfast to start the days sightseeing. Highly recommend.

The hotel is centrally located which is its biggest selling point, its a strange hotel with two buildings joined on the first floor of each. The breakfast was simple and basic, only used it once as it was very busy. The reception staff were polite and helpful, took a little while to change the safe battery + replenish toilet roll but nothing worth complaining about! The room was more than adequate with a balcony (5th floor) which would have been nice to sit out on, if it was not 10 degree's and raining! Its a 3 star hotel, but a decent one. It shows its age in some parts but nothing which would put you of having an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from the breakfast area (avoid floor 1)

If you are looking at this review because you might book. You found the one. We just got back from a four day break first time in Rome. I chose this place because of location and I couldn't have chosen a better located hotel as its central for most places to visit and a stones throw away from my favourite site the trevi foutain. You should try Birreria Pizzeria next to the hotel lovely food lovely people a place the locals eat but that's a going to be a different review.

Hotel Regno is by no mean stylish or modern, but it is a great basic hotel within comfortable walking distance of nearly all the key places of interest to visit in Rome. The staff are all fantastic including the friendly bedroom maids. The Breakfast Rooms can be rather busy between the popular eating time of 8.45 to 9.30am, so plan to go either earlier or later.

Rooms are very clean and traditional if a little cosy. The layout of the corridors can feel a little strange, it is a bit up and down some short flight of stairs for some of the rooms even with the lift. So if you have a problem with stairs, ask for rooms that are on the same level as the lift.

A couple of niggles that did not really distract from my enjoyment of my stay, were that firstly the breakfast room where they make the coffee is looking rather grubby and showing it's age, and secondly in some rooms you can hear the outside noise to at least midnight.

All in all Hotel Regno is excellent value for money, particularly in the Winter months, it's location is extremely convenient for all the key tourist spots and the staff are great. This was my 3rd stay at this hotel and unless money was no object, I would probably not stay anywhere else. In fact I am returning with a friend in a few weeks time for another stay.

Room Tip: Ask well in advance of arrival for a quiet room at the back if you are a light sleeper

My family of 4 loved this hotel. We were lucky enough to get a suite on the 5th floor, with a wrap around balcony. The views of Via Del Corso were amazing. Free continental buffet breakfast was good. Our room and the hotel was very clean and cozy. I recommend this hotel and I would stay here again when in Rome.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the street--Via Del Corso.
