So many good things to talk about this Hotel.

Pros

1. We had RomeCabs.com drive us from FCO to the hotel. When we arrived the hotel staff was there to greet us. They were so professional and happy to see us. They helped us out of the Mercedes and escorted us to the lobby. We were very tired after traveling 24 hours from California. Once inside, we were offered Cappuccino's and very tasty treats. The check in was painless. The Front Desk staff went out of there way to assist us. You certainly will feel special there.

2. The room was beautiful, very clean, and quiet. The room had blackout shades. They worked great. It had air conditioning we controlled (that's a must). And, a very comfy bed. The room was great!

3. Location is the best. Located at Piazza Navona, we were centrally located to see everything. And, we did! The hotel staff gave us a map of the area. Explained all the points with recommendations on how to see it all. They also recommended places to eat while we were out touring.

4. The Rooftop restaurant at Hotel Raphael is incredible. The view is GREAT! The food and service was absolutely wonderful It made for a very romantic evening. I had the Carbonara. The fiancé had the eggplant. Both were excellent.

5. The hotel staff thanked us for staying with them. The manager also thanked us. This hotel truly appreciated our business even though the hotel was full.

Con
1. The shower glass needs to extend out a little more to prevent water from hitting the bathroom floor.

I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Raphael and absolutely loved it. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The room immaculately clean with a comfotable bed abd Sky TV. The location is perfect...close to everything yet quiet. We walked to all the major sights--the Coliseum, the Forum, the Vatican, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. This hotel is great. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for four nights in October 2013. This hotel was easily one of my top five hotels stayed in, anywhere. The rooms are spacious by European standards and very comfortable. There is a rooftop terrace with spectacular views over the Roman skyline. Location near Piazza Navona is another plus. I would definitely stay here again, despite the high price.

We really lucked out by staying in this hotel in Rome. We found the location to be ideal to walking to nearly all of the major sites. It's right off Piazza Nevona which is among the nicest in all of Europe. The service was also fantastic. The only downside is they do what most 4 star hotels do which is charge you double the cost for drinks on their rooftop terrace. Can't a guy just have a 5 Euro Peroni?

We came just back after a 4 nights stay at Raphel. It is a very expensive hotel, but it is so many qualities in this hotel, that it is almost worth the price. Rooms and public areas are great, especially the restaurant at the roof.
However; the best is the staff that really makes you feel well, in a familiar and relaxed way. Some Relais & Chateau hotels are unfortunately too formal.
All were nice, but a special thank to Steven and Zuzana in the restaurant/breakfast and Cinzia in the reception.

The old adage "you get what you pay for" really applies to staying at this oasis of paradise in Rome. Although it costs more than other locations, you will be truly hard pressed to find a more tranquil and peaceful spot to escape the jostle and noise of the inner town of Rome. As other reviewers have said, the location for this hotel is perfect, adjacent to the Navona piazza. The weary traveler may be a little frustrated in trying to find the hotel but all the cab drivers in town can find it and it is really worth the extra effort to secure such a private and quiet place to lay your head. We stayed one night just a few days ago and the management could not have done anything more to make our stay the utmost in perfection. To sum it all up, I would say that the stay is REFRESHING (even starting with the refreshments offered at the time of check in and the complementary wine waiting for you in the room).

We stayed on the second floor which has the contemporary décor. Everything is the room was perfect. The bed has firmness adjustments and has a memory foam topper. Our bathroom had a large shower, a tub, double sink and a bidet. The large flat screen tv is mounted to the wall opposite the foot of the bed making for perfect viewing. The closet space is robust and there are the various valet accessories that you expect in the top notch hotels: clothes brush, shoe horn, shoe buffer, etc. The hair dryer in the bathroom is the best model I have ever used.

It was my wife's birthday on this visit and we found a cake waiting for us when we returned from dinner. Oh, and speaking of dinner: as of the first of the year, the restaurant on the room has a more vegan menu (some fish but mainly pasta and other items). We were surprised but we ordered quite a few courses to try and liked them all. And you cannot beat the view from the roof at night. There just happened to be a fireworks display (at the Vatican maybe?) that night which bolstered the sense of magic at dinner.

The breakfast served here is more than ample. I do not recall a more diverse breakfast buffet menu selection anyplace in Europe (and the OJ is fresh squeezed). The staff goes out of their way to make your staff the most perfect possible. If you want a place from which to tour the heart of Rome, you cannot make a better decision than the Raphael!

Room Tip: upper rooms are quieter, but you may get noise from front or rear in the morning.

Exquisite hotel! Great location around the corner from the Piazza Navonna and minutes away from the Pantheon. Fabulous service, very helpful and knowledgable staff. Nice amenities and extremely clean. Well worth the price. Will not stay anywhere else in Rome.

Room Tip: Check their website for a prepay option.
