“Decent Property, Great Hospitality”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

The hotel is close to Roma termini station ( not really the best of locations in Rome but convenient if you need to take a train to your next destination), the hospitality is great though. The rooms are average but neat and clean. The service and hospitality is great though, the gentleman at the reception was very friendly, nice and helpful. The staff makes you feel welcome and special

The hotel offers great value for money and is a good option for a budget traveller

I stayed here for 3 nights and picked it from the internet because of it's location and price.
When I arrived I felt very welcomed - especially as my luggage didn't make it! My room was comfortable and the A/C was so good I had to turn it up to stop myself freezing!
The room was well appointed and although small, the bathroom had everything you need.
The breakfast was very nice - both continental and western breakfast buffets and fresh coffee.

On the Friday night I also went to the free wine tasting hosted by Roberto which was very nice. They seemed very keen to make you feel welcome and almost part of the family. The bar/wait staff are equally friendly and knowledgeable about Rome and the wine being served!

I would definitely recommend staying here - the metro entrance is literally outside the door, and even though the area is not considered the best, as a single female I felt quite safe.

We chose this hotel as it was well reviewed and located close to both Rome's main station (easily accessed form either airport) and major tourist attractions. From the moment we stepped through the entrance we were made to feel welcome and special. The staff were helpful and friendly. The common parts were comfortable even if a little dated. Our room was small but well appointed with a nice bathroom. On monday evenings they have a cocktail party for guests which was hosted by the owner and drinks and nibbles flowed freely. Breakfast is a buffet arrangement and plentiful. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great hotel in Rome....the rooms are kind of funky shaped, but lots of charm. The location is not bad....close to the a lot of great sights including Santa Maria Maggiore...a beautiful church! Also very close to the train (Metro)...the park across the street is nice during the day.

As mentioned in my earlier reviews we have gone to Rome and hotel Napoleon every year i May for several years.

This year was no exemption!

We arrived on 4 May and had a lovely 10-nights stay.

Room was great ( we always book the bigger ones), breakfast was dilicious with fresh orange juice, cut mest, chease, dairy products and German rye bread etc. AND The staff and the manager Roberto all went out of their way to service their guests.

Already look forward to our next visit.

Stayed in the hotel for 4 nights recently and was very impressed. The interior is very nicely decorated, all staff members excellent and very kind and helpful.
Rooms are good, facing to a courtyard which can be noisy from other private flats facing there too. Last night there was a bit too noisy with our kitchen staff but lucky I don't travel without earplugs so I could sleep.
I booked a standard room, and just found out upon arrival there was National Day in Italy on that weekend, so that is why it was so expensive. But as I had fixed travel dates couldn't choose another weekend to go. We had kettle and robes in the room it was a nice touch.
I asked for softer pillows which were delivered in no time. Also had problem locking the safe and someone came up immediately and showed how to do it (enter the numbers twice)
Bathroom was clean, there were some toiletries supplied, but only soap, shampoo and body lotion, no conditioner or shower gel. Towels were replaced every day, for the last day we didn't get any tea replacement. We got back to the hotel late so I was not bothered by this - I would have asked for tea otherwise and I am sure they would have sent me plenty.
There was a wine tasting on Friday evening - courtesy of the hotel owner who was very nice, chatting to the guests, made us feel very welcomed.
There was a cocktail evening on Monday, which was nice too, some canapés served at both occasions, we really enjoyed these events.
Breakfast was nice too, fresh juice, coffee, cappuccino (by request), cereal, fruits, vegetables, salamis, cheese, pastries, drinks, jams, scrambled eggs, fried sausages and bacon. We didn't leave hungry on any day, it was a very good start of our busy days.
Colosseum is 15 minutes walk, on Via Cavour there is a supermarket with good selection. Not too many restaurants around, but I am sure you won't stay hungry.
The hotel is about 10 min walk to Termini station where you can find the airport transfer buses or you can take the train form there if needed.
Line A metro is located right outside the hotel, very handy to Vatican, Spanish steps etc. You can buy a single ticket (1,5 euro) valid for 100 minutes so you can change lines if you need too. (daily travel ticket is available for 6 euros)
I booked directly with the hotel, not through any booking websites.
Definitely would recommend and stay again.

Arriving after dark the surrounding area (but not the hotel itself) is a little run down which was disappointing initially but our experience was hassle-free, safe with sufficient good restaurants nearby, whether at night or in the daylight.

Once inside the hotel, the hotel do everything possible to make your stay a pleasant one. We were welcomed warmly by the concierge and experienced nothing but friendliness from reception, bar, breakfast and cleaning staff. There was the usual turnover of guests that you'd see at a busy hotel and all seemed to had the same welcoming helpful approach.

The configuration of the hotel means the rooms are well away from traffic noise and the air conditioning worked quietly and efficiently. Free wi-fi and a safe provided.

Location is convenient being about 20 minutes walk from Colosseum / Forum and main Termini, 15 minutes from stops for the open top tour buses or with the metro, literally, right outside.
