“Really Excellent family Run Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2009

We stayed at the Hotel Napoleon for the last week of May for our 25th wedding Anniversary. The hotel was extremely well placed for visiting Rome with a tube station on its doorstep. The staff were very pleasant and helpful - one gave us a suggested walking tour along the Tiber which enabled us to see may sights we would otherwise have missed. Very convenient for the railway station to the airport. Will definately go back again.

I am from Florence, Alabama and my wife and I stayed at the hotel. It was fine, the staff was great, very helpful and they understand English. The rooms are fine, get a superior room, it is a little bigger and the bathrooms are great. The water pressure is great, cold airconditoners. We stayed in Room 315. Great Breakfast, Free. Internet free, and the metro is right in front of the hotel underground. Very easy to get from place to place. The front staff greeting you are super. The only thing is bring your Euro from USA. Our money here is weak and you dont get much in Italy for it. Make sure you bring a calling card to call back to the USA. Cell phones do not work. Verizon. NO. but the hotel is great.

This was the last hotel we stayed in on our 'Italian Road Trip' and we were not disappointed. Its in a great spot for sight seeing, many places are reachable by foot, if not the metro is close by and cheap

We had a superior room that had a separate seating area, it was spacious and clean, although the view was a bit naff! Communal areas were comfortable.
The staff were friendly and attentive, especially Sarah.
Breakfast was superb and catered for people with wheat intolerance. The 'light' menu was great value, the same prices as local restaurants.
This hotel made our stay in Rome memorable for all the right reasons.

We had been in contact with the Napoleon since November planning a special anniversary trip to Rome. From the outset the service was second to none. We were promised special treatment and got everything we were promised. From the warm, informative and courteous e-mails, to the Christmas greeting we received long before we set foot in the hotel we were expecting a fabulous trip and were not disappointed! Even when there was an improved special offer including complimentary transfer we were given this no argument. Our arrival in Rome could not have been smoother, with our driver waiting for us when we arrived! On arrival both a map and guide book which were our bible throughout our trip were provided and major sites pinpointed. Our room was a good size, spotless and very comfortable, not to mention quiet - slept well throughout. The breakfast had a good selection, and the restaurant was lovely, food and wine great. We thoroughly recommend the enjoyable wine tasting on Friday nights Staff were always happy to help including recommending and booking dinner nearby, and were always pleasant and efficient. Only disappointing thing about his hotel was coming home.

I just returned from an 8 day trip to Rome -- staying at the Napoleon during my visit.

Hotels in Europe tend to opt for the smaller sized accomodations as compared to those in the U.S. and we could probably pick and choose as to which hotel has a bit bigger room; beds; showers; elevators and the like as there are pluses and minuses to all. With that understood, having an accomodating staff at the hotel is what is most important to me and the staff at Napoleon are extremely professional, very helpful and courteous as well. When you're visiting a place for the first time and are unsure about which restaurants are the best for your money; which places you should or shouldn't visit, etc., having a helpful staff to arrange things for you or make reservations that you need and the like...is very important in my opinion. The staff at Napoleon will take care of your needs and are very friendly folks.

The hotel itself is very clean -- aged, but clean. The rooms are again, a bit smaller than what you might be used to if you're from the U.S., but they are spacious and comfortable enough. Besides, when you're visiting Rome...how much time are you going to actually spend in the room? Their restaurant and breakfast bar are very good with top-notch waiters as well.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I was traveling with my 11 year old son and we really enjoyed our stay at the Napoleon in Rome. The hotel picked us up at the airport free of charge which is a huge savings! I had no problems with the hotel at all. The staff members were nice and helped you with anything you needed. The room we were is what big enough for the both of us and very quiet. The food the hotel served in their restaurant was really good and we ordered room service another night which was convenient. The breakfast was just fine for us...you can't make everyone happy. Also, there was a great little pizza shop about a block away we ate at one night. They had an internet station that you can get on which was really convenient for looking up sights or comparing tours at your leisure.
The HUGE plus to this hotel is that the metro is right outside the front door and it gets you to almost every attraction you wish to see. We bought a tourist pass for 4-5 Euros which had unlimited use for three days. If this is your first trip to Rome or looking for the best way to use your time buy the Rick Steves travel book on Rome. Inside he tells you about all the sitseeing spots and which metro stops to get off on.
We had three nights in Rome and wished our stay was longer!
