“Not a 4-star hotel, but very, very nice.”
Reviewed 26 August 2009

We chose this hotel based on reviews on this website as well as another. The neighborhood in which it is located is not the best, but the front door is literally steps away from the Metro. You can get virtually anywhere from there, and in the August heat, it was better to be underground than on top of it. Our room was smallish, but ready at 11:00 a.m. and spic and span clean, and the bathroom virtually brand new and very nice. Insulated windows made the room QUIET and the A/C was GREAT! Best we had in Italy. Roberto, the manager, could not have been nicer. We even saw him in the Metro one day and he shouted out to us, wanting to make sure we were coming to his Friday night reception / wine tasting, which was an unexpected treat. He really goes out of his way to make your stay enjoyable. The staff will do anything for you if you ask nicely. Breakfast is simple, but tasty with some hot items. Common area was very nice for early morning finishing up a last minute work project while partner was sleeping. Free WiFi is greatly appreciated. There is also a computer there for common use if you do not bring your own for checking e-mails and such. All in all, a great place for a few nights in Rome.

We stayed in Room 119 and, unlike some other reviews on here, we personally thought that the room was of a good size and certainly not dark at all. It was very clean and the air conditioning was very quiet. Yes, you can hear it a little bit when it is turned on but we easily slept all night with it on - and was very welcome during our stay what with the very warm Italian weather in August! The free internet connection was very quick wireless broadband and easy to connect to using the user name and password provided by the hotel. It was my wifes birthday during our stay and the hotel had obviously noted her date of birth when we booked originally and made a point of wishing her a happy birthday when we returned to the hotel in the evening. Then about 5 minutes after returning to our room, there was a knock at the door and we were greeted by a member of the staff holding a complimentary bottle of champagne and a note from the manager wishing my wife a happy birthday. Now that's service! Every member of staff was attentive and friendly at all times. Hotel Napoleon helped to make our trip a memorable experience and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Have stayed at the Napoleon 4 times now and are always impressed with the warm welcome, friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms and the ideal location with a metro stop at the front door.
The staff speak excellent English and are very patient and helpful with our basic attempts to learn and speak Italian.
We have booked their 3 day minimum stay with airport transfer included and found this to be very efficient and economical. We also ask the hotel to book our return to airport and they are very accommodating, looking after cases while we do last minute sightseeing etc.
We've put our coins in the Trevi fountain so we will be returning to Rome and the Hotel Napoleon. When line C of the Metro opens we will have easy access to even more of Rome.

We stayed at the Hotel Napoleon for the last week of May for our 25th wedding Anniversary. The hotel was extremely well placed for visiting Rome with a tube station on its doorstep. The staff were very pleasant and helpful - one gave us a suggested walking tour along the Tiber which enabled us to see may sights we would otherwise have missed. Very convenient for the railway station to the airport. Will definately go back again.

I am from Florence, Alabama and my wife and I stayed at the hotel. It was fine, the staff was great, very helpful and they understand English. The rooms are fine, get a superior room, it is a little bigger and the bathrooms are great. The water pressure is great, cold airconditoners. We stayed in Room 315. Great Breakfast, Free. Internet free, and the metro is right in front of the hotel underground. Very easy to get from place to place. The front staff greeting you are super. The only thing is bring your Euro from USA. Our money here is weak and you dont get much in Italy for it. Make sure you bring a calling card to call back to the USA. Cell phones do not work. Verizon. NO. but the hotel is great.

This was the last hotel we stayed in on our 'Italian Road Trip' and we were not disappointed. Its in a great spot for sight seeing, many places are reachable by foot, if not the metro is close by and cheap

We had a superior room that had a separate seating area, it was spacious and clean, although the view was a bit naff! Communal areas were comfortable.
The staff were friendly and attentive, especially Sarah.
Breakfast was superb and catered for people with wheat intolerance. The 'light' menu was great value, the same prices as local restaurants.
This hotel made our stay in Rome memorable for all the right reasons.
