Room was great, location average service abysmal. We had housekeeping walk into our room 4 times in a two hour span with a quick knock and an immidiette entry. As soon as they realised we were in the room they left without a word only to return again half an hour later. In case you are thinking we should have put on the DND sign there was not one. Room service did not arrive for an hour and when I called to ask about it, the response was twenty more minutes. For a pasta!!!!! Breakfast was fabulous. the best in Rome. When I pointed these things out at check in I got a so sorry sir but not an inkling of concern as to why this should happen. I guess complaints must be common

Ahhh, St Regis! This property delivers what you'd expect - impeccable service, elegance, quiet and comfort. A wonderful retreat after a loud, exciting, sweaty day on foot in Rome. Not close to a multitude of cafes and shopping (minus) but close to train station and in a quiet-ish neighborhood (plus.) English spoken very well and staff attentive to your requests.

Room Tip: Room 210 - fabulous - the butler stocked us daily with delicious fresh fruit.

We visited some friends in Umbria and flew through Rome. So we decided to spend 3 days here before flying home. And we do not regret it. Location is excellent and the hotel is very nice. We got upgraded to a junior suite, which was a bit heavily decorated but very clean and spacious. Staff was very attentive of the kids, which is not always in 5* city hotels. Restaurant is also very good. Highly recommendable but three days was too short to get to know Rome. We will have to return here.

Without pimping a certain brand of hotel loyalty program too much (Starwood) , Let's just say this is a great place to spend your Starwood points. Walking distance to virtually everything you'd want to see (we were traveling with our two small children 3 & 19 mos). The service is fantastic & the ambiance of the hotel is... well it's a St. Regis. The room was very nice, if a shade on the small side. A little sticker shock at the hotel breakfast (€43 for the buffet & €25 for continental breakfast!!) and having to pay for in room internet access (€15). But all in all, a lovely place to stay.

A beautiful old world room with comfortable beds. What you expect at this brand. Good service, responsive concierge. Quiet hotel, not many lingering in bar area --more a quiet discreet destination. In walking distance of some tourist sites. Plaza nearby pretty with fountain, but immediate surrounding neighborhood not much exciting for tourist. very good about trying to get you into a room quickly when arriving from international flight which was great and appreciated.

Excellent hotel with amazing staff. This is the best hotel in Rome. Great location, excellent amenities, amazing staff that are happy to help, clean rooms, fast room service, and the best concierge on the continent. We had our 7 month old baby with us, and they were able to procure a babysitter one night and then sterilize all our baby bottles the next night. Everyone is friendly and kind. We will definitely be back. Ask for room 242.

This is certainly a grand hotel , beautifully renovated, quiet and luxurious rooms, and a real feel of history. Feels five star. The staff are very helpful, the concierge was able to assist with guides for daytime tours and restaurant bookings without fuss. The evening bar staff were particularly friendly and even gave us complimentary lemoncello at the end of the evening (perhaps they have trouble selling the stuff, tastes like alcoholic palmolive dish washing detergent). The three main things I found tiring after a week there were: 1) very expensive wi-fi access, 15 Eur / day is highway robbery. 2) the walk to town is longer than you think, partly because the hotel is on a hill. 3) most guests seem to be from the US, friendly people but VERY loud talkers at breakfast. After a week my ears were aching. If you want to be in the heart of Rome it might not be the hotel for you but otherwise a Grand Experience.

We are grateful for your positive comments about the hotel structure and staff and for your feedback about internet charges; it will be reviewed to individuate possible improvements. We are also very sorry the Limoncello was not to your liking.This is a liquor produced in the Penisola Sorrentina with local lemons and it considered an excellent digestive, but we understand that the taste may not be appreciated by everyone.
