Booked this hotel last minute for New Year's Eve. We were so happy with our stay. As Starwood Gold they couldn't accommodate a room upgrade the day we checked in but did the next day. The room was incredibly comfortable. One can sleep in these beds all day and be enveloped in their comfort. Concierges were incredible especially for restaurant reservations. We stayed 4 nights and had 4 over the top recommendations for fantastic restaurants/meals. Location wasn't fantastic if you just wanted to walk but wasn't bad. Loved sitting in their lobby and having coffee/tea/cocktails in the afternoon. Minor issues were 1. a Vatican tour we booked with the hotel. The tour guide was terrible and we spent more time listening to other tour guides. We finally couldn't take him and left the tour early. (I had seen the vatican before but my husband hadn't. I hope to take him back and have a much better experience). 2. The experience would have been ideal if breakfast was included. We didn't want to pay the exorbitant price as I like breakfast and a variety but don't eat a ton and my husband doesn't do breakfast but it would have been nice to have the option to eat a tiny bit there (buffet style with various options) and lounge over coffee. We went to a couple little cafes nearby and had coffee. We had just stayed at the Grand Bretagne in Athens and this lack of inclusive breakfast was a huge contrast.

Room Tip: Rooms come in many shape and sizes and ask to see a few rooms before deciding. We had one nonsmokin...

Dear Guest,
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and we are enchanted that you enjoyed restoring nights in our comfortable beds and precious linen. Thank you for your comment about breakfast, as it gives the opportunity to inform you that we offer many packages and dedicated rates which include buffet breakfast. Additionally, it is always possible to order a simple coffee or just a few items from the buffet. We are sorry that you did not voice your preference while at the hotel, so that we may have made arrangments for you and for your husband. It is also important that you mentioned the unsatisfactory tour guide at the Vatican; the concierge team will certainly follow up to ensure that our selected external partners perform the high level of service our Guests expect and deserve.
Please do not hesitate to contact us on your next visit to the Eternal City and we will make up for this disappointing tour experience.

With best regards,
Vincenzo Falcone, Hotel Manager

We stayed in May for nearly one week and it was fabulous! I can't say enough wonderful things about this property. The staff was phenomenal, the bar amazing, cozy with the best bar snacks ever! Our suite was fantastic, not much of a view and a little noisy in the mornings, but that is about the only negative I can come up with. Large bathroom, with a terrific shower, dressing table, double sinks and large tub. We found it easy to get most anywhere in Rome from here and walking distance to so many restaurants. It was always easy to get a cab right outside if you don't want to walk.
The fresh fruit in our room each day was wonderful, some of the best tangerines I have ever eaten! Perfection in nearly every way. One other negative, not a biggie: when ever we asked the concierge for restaurant suggestions, they did not seem to be the best choices. It seemed as though they were sending us to place that payed them to send tourists to their establishments. The recommendations did not seem to be genuine. We found much better places on our own.
The front desk was always helpful to break large bills, lots of tipping going on in Italy! The business center made it easy to print out our tickets to the Colosseum.
Would love to stay here again and again.

Dear Guest,
Grazie, your comments are most rewarding and encouraging!
We strive to provide a bespoke service to our Guests and to make them feel special.
So we are sorry if the restaurant suggestions were not as satisfactory as you had anticipated. This is not an easy task as it involves personal tastes and expectations. However the concierge team constantly updates the list of formal and casual restaurants that has been created by our customers’ preferences and on regular mystery shopping, to assist our guests to the best of our abilities.
Please rest assured that, on your next visit, we will not disappoint you again.
Kind regards,
Vincenzo Falcone

This hotel has to be probably one of the most elegant, luxurious hotels in the world.! First class in every respect. You may want to eat and drink somewhere else to save a few bucks, but it is an amazing experience with incredible service, ambience, etc., etc.! Could not have been improved upon!

What a wonderful experience we had staying for one week at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are immaculate, comfortable and luxurious. The staff is prepared to take care of every need. Breakfast in the lobby area is outstanding with a staff of attentive help to cater to our wishes. This hotel has managed to keep up with it's beautiful appearance from the time it was originally renovated as a St Regis. We appreciated the attention to detail in making our stay a wonderful experience. We have spent much time in Rome over the years and found the St Regis to be the best hotel in which we have stayed. The entire staff should be complimented for taking their responsibilities to the next level. If you want a clean comfortable hotel where you truly feel like a special guest, this is the place to stay in Rome.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 10 year Anniversary and could not have been happier. The service from start to finish was amazing. The rooms luxurious and the bed so comfortable. On our first day when we returned from sightseeing we were delighted to have chocolates, fruit and canapes left out for us. On night 2 we were treated to a beautiful St Regis hardback book and a letter of congratulations from the manager, we were very surprised on day 3 when we came back to a beautiful bottle of red wine! The location is perfect within walking distance to all attractions, Rome should be seen on foot.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and we can not wait to go back!

Let's face it, wherever Cesar Ritz and August Escoffier left their mark, luxury will always prevail. Top notch service, accommodations and decor. Perhaps it needs a painting makeover and a fix here and there but you have to understand that you cannot call the usual contractor to repair history. My sincere congratulations to the entire staff of the Grand Hotel St Regis Rome, from the doorman who always welcome us with a smile to the lady who brought us extra towels and knowledgeable concierge staff. Experience the grand salon with a cognac admiring all the details of this majestic hotel. I will definitely come back when in Rome and I recommend to anyone to experience this property. Excellent location and priced accordingly.

Thank you for mentioning the genius of Cesar Ritz, who in 1894 created this exceptional palace. It soon became the residence of distinguished international travelers and, today, we proudly celebrate 120 years of timeless tradition and bespoke service. Your recognition is very much appreciated and a great encouragement for continuous improvement and innovation.
We look forward to your next visit,
