We stayed here last year, and are going back again this year as a special treat for our 50th Anniversary and taking along our son and daughter-in-law.

We loved the friendly staff, and especially our times up on the roof enjoying happy hour and the view below.

Room Tip: Our room last year was a corner double room, looking out onto the street below. It was a busy scene...

Quirky hotel in a fantastic location between the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Staff were all lovely and very friendly. Emanuele on the front desk even lent me his phone charger when I realised I'd forgotten mine. Room was a good size and bathroom adaquate for our needs if a bit tired looking. A good shower with plenty of hot water, just what we needed after walking around Rome in the pouring rain. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. Breakfast staff attentive and welcoming. The roof top bar served excellent wine at a reasonable price. Would recommend and would love to return.

Dear Andrea B,
We are very pleased to thank for your kind review.
As you wrote, the Albergo Cesàri is hosted in an historical palace dated XVI century located in the Centre of Rome, not far away from the Spanish Steps, Venice Square - with the National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II , that holds the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier -, Piazza Navona and Campo de’ fiori one of the most important square in the past.
The Staff is very helpful and friendly and our multilingual Chef Consierge Emanuele is an exemple!
What can say about our rooms? They are recently renovated, but the high frequency of people caused some problems, that it is our intention to solve as soon as possible. However, the important thing is that they are comfortable, clean and with a “good shower with hot water!”
Every morning from 7.00am to 10.30am the roof top welcome you with its rich buffet breakfast: cappuccino, coffee, tea, fruit juice, yogurt, two different type of homemade cakes, biscuits, brioches, 3 different type of cheeses, parmigiano, hams, eggs, 3 different type of bread, pizza, fresh fruit, salad fruit and in the evening for a relaxing drink.
We wait in our official website for your next stay with us.

We would never stay anywhere else in Rome. The reception staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, we looked forward to returning each afternoon and having their them ask about our day. Minutes walk from shopping, Trevi fountain and Piazza Navona in a perfect, cobblestoned, historic street - we even heard the echo of italian opera from the restaurant across from our room. Speaking of rooms, they are very spacious with lovely shutters that open to reveal the history that surrounds. The rooftop bar, restaurant and breakfast buffet area offered stunningly beautiful views and the breakfast selection was fantastic. Leaving on the day of departure was like saying farewell to family. Beautifully memorable.

Dear Nina S,
review like yours give us a lot of satisfation and drives us to proceed in this direction.
Our English speaking Receptionists love to give assistance to our Guests and have a good chat to know their impression about their stay in Rome.
The Albergo Cesàri is situated just in midway between the Pantheon and Trevi fountain, not far away from Via Frattina and Via Condotti (fashion streets) and near of museums/monuments well know all over the world.
The 3 stars hotel has two type of rooms – standard and classic – that are different each other in size, but all have air-conditioning, a complimentary coffee/tea maker, one bottle of mineral water on arrival and the private bathroom with shower and/or bathtub. Second floor is the only one for smoker while the other 3 floors are all non-smoking. Please visit our new official webpage with its photos and special offer.
A particular mention is due to “La terrazza del Cesàri” that is a relaxing island, where to have a morning buffet breakfast and an evening drink, always sourronded by Roman roof tops.
Thanking another time for your beautiful review on TA, we send our best regards.

We stayed for 3 nights in Albergo Cesari in December 2013. We could not have chosen a better hotel to stay in Rome! It is a very old, 3-star hotel (although thoroughly renewed inside) in the historic part of Rome. It is located on a pedestrian street, just around the corner from San Ignacio de Loyola Church, half a block from Via do Corso and two blocks from the Fontana di Trevi. You are literally walking distance to every place you will visit in Rome, surrounded by little restaurants and coffee shops, in a very safe area! The hotel has a small lobby and a small elevator although to get to some rooms you may need to take a few steps. The room was really very comfortable. We had a double room in the first floor, in the corner, overlooking both streets. It had an electric kettle with complimentary coffee and tea, comfortable beds and a safety box. The bathroom was clean, and the shower had good pressure. Breakfast was absolutely great! It was served on its magnificent terrace, with lovely views of historic Rome. You can sit inside or outside, depending on the weather. It is beautifully decorated and a great place to relax for a while! Words apart for the great service and attention! We have definitely found our place in Rome!

Dear werty09,
We wish to thank you very much for your beautiful review, that impressed us a lot.
The location of our hotel is perfect for a stay of 3 nights, just because we are in the middle of the historical centre of Rome, not far away from the Pantheon and the Trevi fountain. Just near of the Temple of the Emperor Hadrian and, if you like walking, 30 minutes from Vatican City and Saint Angel Castle. Next to us, it is possible to find restaurants, tipical trattorie, cafes, bistros, pizzerias…
In our official website it is possible to see our standard and classic rooms, all with private bathroom with hairdryer and courtesy kit, air conditioning, soundproof windows, coffe/tea making facilities and safety box.
Our “great” breakfast is served on the rooftop where it is possible to see the timpano of the Church of Sant’Ignazio, that you loved, while have a delicious cappuccino and cakes or bread or what you like. Also, it is possible to sip a glass of wine or a good cocktail in the evening.
Waiting to welcome you in a near future all the Staff and I send you a big “arrivederci”

The first, second and third things going for the Albergo Cesari are location, location and location. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give it a 10. About 300 meters from the Pantheon which is probably my favorite site in Rome, 50 meters from Via del Corso, cross it and Fontana di Trevi awaits a couple of minutes walk ahead. Almost everything is walking distance in Rome and this hotel is at the center of it all.

The guys at reception are nice, friendly and helpful, gave us all the information we needed and arranged transportation at reasonable rates.

Breakfast is fairly good and splendidly located on the roof. I would skip the paid extras, they are not worth it. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, of which two were especially good: Hostaria De Pastini (as you walk towards the Pantheon) and Pizza Zaza (just beyond it).

We opted for a 'Classic Room' which is about 30% more expensive but more spacious than the standard rooms. It was indeed spacious, with in-room safe, a reasonable bathroom and good view to the piazza, but otherwise nothing to be excited about, as the old style furniture are, at the end of the day, just old. We didn't get the chance to take a look at the standard rooms, and I'm wondering if the upgrade was really necessary given the fact that we were out all day every day as could be expected when visiting such a great city.

Dear BG007,
Thanks a lot for your review and for give us “10, on a scale of 1 to 5”.
We are very lucky to stay in the historical centre of Rome, just near the Pantheon that is one of the most beautiful place in the world, with the height to the oculus and the diameter of the interior circle that are the same!
A lot of competitors envy us for our Receptionists and all the Staff, very professional people who live and know Rome very well and try to instill their knowledge.
Our roof terrace is a special place where have a good and rich buffet breakfast in the morning. You can taste: espresso/american coffee, cappuccino, fruit juice, various taste of tea, fresh fruit, salad fruit, muesli, yogurt, cheeses, parmigiano, ham, different kind of bread, pizza, marmelade, jams, honey, cakes and so on. In the evening, you can sip a drink regarding Roman roof tops.
Just around us a lot of restaurants, trattorie, cafés and places where you can taste what you want.
The hotel has two type of rooms classic and standard, bookable on our official webpage. All rooms have private bathroom, with hairdryer, shower gel/shampoo, soap and tissues and they have the double glazing on the windows to avoid outside noise. The Classic room are in old stay furniture, as mentioned and a lot of people does not like it, but prefer a modern furniture. So it is better to book standard rooms, maybe directly on our official website…

Arrived late Sunday night. Tomasso on reception. Great bloke...friendly, helpful & informative. Drew on maps his tips for walking routes to see major sites including secret ones ie: obscure churches with famous paintings.. Speaks great English too. All the staff were great & friendly (lots of buon giornos). Reception gave us as many maps as we wanted and ideas for good food off the beaten track. There are 2 reataurants in the square the hotel is next to. Both lovely...but make sure you get the directions to Francesco's by Piazza Navona as well.
The Albergo is right in the centre of Old Rome so close to everything eg: Trevi Fountain 2 mins... Pantheon 4 mins.. Super location...Even Vatican City only 35 mins... Of course it takes longer because everywhere you look (up, down, around, inside & out), every corner you turn, every church you go into just includes more magnificence...
Great room over the street. Room was warm so with window open you get street noise (which I love) the road does not have cars but close window for total silence and shutters for darkness. Outside to the left is one of Rome's many drinking fountains...I just went down each morning to fill up plastic bottles (loved doing that). The room had tea making facilities & a fridge. Bathroom spacious...plenty of hot water. The building is 1500 years old and has been a family run hotel for over 200 years so it does feel dated but that adds to the charm. Breakfast on the roof terrace is fabulous...7 'til 10 am, so no pressure to dash. Cappucino inc...bread, ham, cheese, eggs, juice, croissants, cereal etc...loads of it too. We didn't need to eat again until the evenings. Room was cleaned/tidied every day. Fresh towels everyday if wanted.
On our last full day we took the train to Assisi. That day will stay with me forever.
The Albergo ask for checkout by 10am..we didn't leave ours until 11..no problem. Leaving luggage with reception to sight-see favourites as flight not until 4 was no trouble.
January: Weatherwise..not cold, 3 days of sun, one rainy = Vatican day. Siteswise: No queues. Sistine Chapel not packed. St. Peter's cupola only 7 people up there. Great time to go for us. No hassle from pickpockets etc...we used the Metro too. Just kept our wits about us. Driving is mental in Rome...I would never, ever do it. Took a couple of taxis..an experience for sure. Only use the official white taxis...the drivers don't expect a tip but we did. Within Rome it is tariff 1.
Amazing city...great break helped enormously by the location & staff of the Albergo Cesari.
Recommended...thank you.
