“Great location rooms need work”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

You can't complain about convenience. Located close to Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. The service at reception was great. Very helpful and suggested places for dinner. Roof top terrace was nice spot for breakfast or a drink, except they sometimes forgot to switch on lift to top floor for start of breakfast and the lift was tiny and very hot. We had 4 rooms. Two classic and two standard. The double standard was far better than the twin classic which had cost more. The bathrooms needed work. In the classic twin you almost had to climb over the toilet to get in and out of the shower which was elevated and dangerous to step in and out of when wet. The standard twin was tiny and had a bad smell. Walls were thin. Paying for the location.

Dear Louise230,
We wish to thank for your kind review. However, let us express our point of view. Surely our location is unbeatable, as well as the professionalism of our staff.
We know that some rooms need a renovation as well as the bathrooms, and we're planning the works in the near future. The building dates back to 1787 and the walls are about 50 cm thick, the size of the rooms is due at the time of building construction, because the Cesàri is an historic hotel.
You have not only paid for the location, but also for a professional and friendly service always directed to the welfare and well-being of the customer. In addition to this, we have many services offered to all our Clients that are generally present in a superior category hotel.

Convenient Location - Super Friendly Staff - Great Breakfast. I'd stay here again. Rooms were small, but I was not in the room very often. They even have a pet seagull that joins you for breakfast... even if the staff doesn't like it. If I am looking for a downside it is the size of the key fob and how you leave it at the front desk when you leave. However, every staff person knows you and it only takes a quick second to retrieve (and usually without having to tell them your room # - freaky hahahaha).

Dear Mike S,
Thanks a lot for your funny review, well describing our friendly athmosphere.
The secret of our success is certainly our location and the rooftop, within our professional and friendly English speaking Staff, always at Guests’ disposal for any issue.
La Terrazza del Cesàri, our roof top terrace, every morning from 7.00am to 10.30am the roof top welcomes you with its rich buffet breakfast: cappuccino, coffee, tea, fruit juice, yogourt, two different type of homemade cakes, biscuits, brioches, 3 different type of cheeses, parmigiano, hams, eggs, 3 different type of bread, pizza, fresh fruit, salad fruit and in the evening for a relaxing drink. Take care that July is the month of “Metaxa SunTonic”.
The Albergo Cesàri has two type of rooms – standard and classic – that are different each other in size. All our rooms have air-conditioning, a complimentary coffee/tea maker, one bottle of mineral water on arrival and the private bathroom may have the shower and/or bathtub.
The size of the key fob is the chance to speak with our great front desk Staff: I’m joking… the true is that in the past Guests forget to give it back and this is not good for us, as we must to know if there are Client inside rooms, in case of fire.
You’re right: front desk Staff has good memory and have no problem to give your key without your reminder!
Waiting for your next stay with us, we suggest to book directly at our official webpage for a special offer.

We were happily surprised at the centrally located hotel. The staff in the reception was outstanding, very nice and helpful with our questions. We were on the third floor. So the elevator was welcomed. The room was kind of small and basic. Nice and quiet if you left the windows closed. The bed was a little to hard for my taste and the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The nice extras were the air-conditioning, some things like a hot water maker with coffee and cups, etc., a refrigerator. Then the breakfast on the rooftop was excellent. An elaborate European breakfast spread was included, and you could order eggs etc. for a low price. We also spent a few evenings on the rooftop having cocktails while watching the sunset. I would definitely stay there again.
Having said that, I would only go back to Rome in the off season. The crowds were just crazy everywhere.

Dear Traveling4two,
We would like to thank you for your kind review on our behalf.
In our official webpage is well highlight our central location, just in the historical Centre of Rome just near to the most important sites, well know all over the world.
Our friendly and helpful Staff is selected to ensure our Guests’ a quiet stay, cleanness and good assistance, within solve problem, book restaurants/museums and pick up services.
The Albergo Cesàri is hosted in a XVII century building of 5 floors, so it is very appreciated an elevator that reach all the floor! The 3 stars hotel has standard rooms and classic ones. The first ones are basic and the other have “old style furniture” and special amenities in the bathroom. Both type offer to all our Guests comfortable bed, soundproof windows, tea/coffe making facilities replenished every day, one bottle of mineral water in room on arrival, a minibar, a safe box and air conditioning.
“La terrazza del Cesàri” - our rooftop – is a peaceful island with view on typical Roman tops, where have a delicious, fresh and rich buffet breakfast in the morning and sip a glass of Italian wine or a cocktail in the evening, starting from 6.00pm, as you did!
We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you very soon.

Recently stayed here and enjoyed every minute. Situated on the Piazza Di Pietra, it is close to most of the major attractions -Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Colloseum and Roman Forum. The reception is very helpful and they gave me an early check in due to an early arrival from Australia. The room is comfortable with a separate bathroom. The shower is very small and if my partner were travelling with me (he is 6'4" and broad) it would have been a problem. Aircon. Sound proof rooms.
The roof top bar and breakfast room is fantastic and a great place to enjoy a drink at the end of the day.
I would recommend this place to anyone.

Dear Albanylee,
Thank you a lot for thinking us with this kind review.
Our 3 stars hotel overlooking Piazza di Pietra, (Piazza of Stone - derived from use of the temple's stones to build the piazza) and it is just in a midway between the Pantheon and the Trevi fountain, as you wrote. Just in the corner you should take the little bus n.116 that “runs” in the heart of Rome: very nice route that ends near Villa Borghese, one of the most beautiful park in Caput Mundi.
We are pleased you appreciated our professional, friendly and attentive Staff, who is well selected for talents, sensitivity and knowledge. They try to satisfy all Guests’ request, as an early check-in!
The hotel offers the right balance between history and modernism, on the highest levels of European standards, with its 48 rooms, including 10 classic rooms, all furnished and equipped with every comfort, as air conditioning, soundproof windows, minibar and safe box. About the shower, the size of the box the standard one. However, for any inconvenience, get in touch with our great Receptionists: they find a solution.
La Terrazza del Cesàri, our trendy rooftop, has a magical atmosphere in the evening, not less in the morning, so beautiful with its flowers. It is a very pleasure to have the rich buffet breakfast in this place…
Also for your next stay with us book your stay directly on our official website: as you know you’ll find good offer.

My teenage son and I stayed here for 5 nights. What a beautiful hotel. The location is perfect for seeing Rome. We walked everywhere from our hotel. 40 minutes to the Vatican, 30 minutes to the colosseum, and 5 minutes to Trevi fountain. The staff was wonderful and helpful all the time. This is the only place I will stay at when I return to the Eternal City. Thank you for a great stay.

Dear rgbaker77,
It’s a very pleasure to read a review like yours, really very appreciated!
Our hotel is located in a strategic place, just in the centre of Rome, the Eternal City. Near to the great sites, like the Pantheon with the grave of Raffaello Sanzio and the Church of Saint Ignazio, with its beautiful ceiling. We hope you visit the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore (Basilica of Saint Mary Major – Basilica Sanctae Mariae Maioris) that has the first gold arrived from the just discovered America. Or the church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, or Our Lady of the Conception of the Capuchins. The crypt is located just under the church. Cardinal Antonio Barberini, who was a member of the Capuchin order, in 1631 ordered the remains of thousands of Capuchin friars exhumed and transferred from the friary Via dei Lucchesi to the crypt. The bones were arranged along the walls, and the friars began to bury their own dead here, as well as the bodies of poor Romans, whose tomb was under the floor of the present Mass chapel. Here the Capuchins would come to pray and reflect each evening before retiring for the night.
We are pleased you appreciated our professional, friendly and attentive Staff, who is well selected for talents, sensitivity and knowledge.
Waiting for your next stay with us, we kindly suggest to book directly on our official website, where you’ll find special offer for 5 nights stay.

This hotel was the perfect location! The customer service was top notch as well. Even in the booking process, I was able to email back and forth for clarification. The rooftop deck was to die for, great city views and breakfast was included! On-line discounts available. A definite must stay when in Rome!

Dear SAOTX,
It’s a pleasure to read your kind review.
Our great position is just in the centre of Rome, not far away from the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain, shopping street as Via del Corso – Via Condotti – Via Frattina, Palazzo Cipolla that in this moment hosts the exhibition “Andy Warhol”, Spanish Steps and the park of Villa Borghese.
Thanks also for your compliments about our customer service, as it is one of our goal: satisfy our Guests is our main target, such as reply asap to all email and phone conversation. Our Receptionists is able to give you assistance and suggestion for any issue.
Our rooftop is a very beautiful terrace overlooking Roman tops, Piazza di Pietra, the timpano of Saint Ignazio Church and the temple of the Emperor Hadrian. Rich and delicious buffet breakfast is served every morning in this area, that became a “trendy” bar starting from 6.00pm until midnight.
Also for your next stay with us, book directly on our official webpage: a special offer is waiting for you!

Wow, this hotel was beyond what I expected.
We had a triple room, while the room was basic, we had a large bathroom - great shower pressure and for the first week of June the air conditioning was perfect.
We could set at the desired temperature and cooled the room as we needed.
Windows allowed us to see the street view and also allowed us to shut the noise out at night - heard nothing.
We used the hotel car pickup at the airport - this was perfect - waiting for us when we arrived and took us straight to the hotel. Our room had 1 double and 1 single bed, basic desk and chair and a TV, but who spends time in their room in Rome. Front desk staff always present and helped us with restaurant choices and directions - most common sight in Rome - tourists lost trying to read maps. This hotel is in the heart of Rome - next to the temple of Hadrian - great square to sit and people watch - and has a great sandwich shop for paninis which we brought back to the room. A minute walk to the Pantheon which allowed us to walk in at opening before the crowds arrived. We walked to the Colosseum one day and the Vatican another - no need for taxis and walking and discovering Rome was the best. Beauty everywhere. Loved the rooftop breakfast - fruit, breads, meats, cheeses, coffee and juice kept us going until our lunch of gelato. We almost stayed at another hotel that advertised that they were only a 30 min bus ride away - can't imagine staying there now as the best part was walking in the evening to the Trevi fountain, Piazza Nova and other squares. We also used the hotel arranged driver to take us to our Cruise ship - again so easy to walk out of the hotel and then walk onto the ship. Only regret, I wish I would have stayed more than 3 nights prior to our Cruise. If you are thinking of staying here - book early !!! I threw my coin into the Trevi fountain and when I return will return to the Albergo Cesari.

Room Tip: Book early, especially if needing more than a double room
