Albergo Cesari is in a great location- 5 minutes walking to Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. The family or quad. room for four people was clean and large, but one of my daughters had to sleep on what we consider a roll away type of bed or cot which was not as comfortable as the other twin. If you are particular about your bathrooms, this one was large enough, but was not ever well cleaned and we stayed at the hotel from June 30th to July 5th and then again July 13th to July 15th 2009. The front desk staff were extremely kind and helpful with directions and any other information we needed. The highlight was the beautiful bar and breakfast area on the roof. We had wine at 7:30 at the bar every evening before going to dinner and Carmelo, the bartender, was the best. He had great suggestions for dinner and introduced us to some wonderful Italian wines.

My new hubby and I went to just got back from our honeymoon to Italy. We decided to stay two nights in Rome before picking up a cruise... Thankfully, we lucked out and stayed at the Hotel Cesari. First, the Hotel Cesari was in the BEST location in Rome. The hotel is on this little strip and you feel like you are in the heart of Italy! Everything can be reached by exiting the hotel and turning either left or right. To the right walk about 5 minutes and you’ll run into the Trevi Fountain and a 5 minute walk past the Trevi you will run into the Spanish Steps and the Metro Station. To the left of the hotel you run into ruins and then a few minute walk you hit the Pantheon and a little farther Piazza Navona. At night however, it is quiet. The hussle and bussle that goes on in the day stops at night, so you can sleep peacefully.

We had two large windows in our room that opened up to the beautiful streets, tucked away in just the most perfect area! The free breakfast in the morning was amazing! It was an authentic breakfast with coffee, juices, homemade pastries, meat and cheese trays, and much more. It was truly the perfect way to start off the day. Not to mention the rooftop dining area overlooking the ruins and the gorgeous area! A beautiful spot to hang out morning-noon- or night :)

The staff was so friendly! Since, we arrived early they were nice enough to keep our bags so that we could start exploring. They also helped us with directions, cab rides, etc. Everything you need they can help you with- they all speak great English. The hotel is also near a cute little store that has in expensive wine, cheeses, etc. Perfect to grab a bottle of wine to take back to the hotel to pop open! shhhh :)

I was advised of this hotel by someone who had been so impressed by it that she phoned to make my reservation, just to make sure I went. Albergo Cesari is situated in the middle of Rome in a gorgeous side street off the main shopping area. It is within walking distance of many historic attractions, e.g. 5 mins from the Coliseum, and has reasonably priced, quality cafe`s and restaurants at the doorstep. The rooms were small but clean and pleasant. They had an electric jug, fridge etc for tea and coffee making. Internet access for my computer cost only 5 Euros per day. The hotel also had the most wonderful buffet breakfast and this was taken at table on the rooftop, which is also a bar during the day/night. The views of other old rooftops from here was amazing. The staff were outstanding. They were friendly and obliging, nothing was too much trouble, and this helpful approach did not alter through changes in shift. When I visit Rome again, this is where I will stay. I have already recommended the hotel to several friends.

We loved our stay at Albergo Cesari. Staff was very friendly and helpful, with directions, reservations, etc. Room was beautiful with windows overlooking Piazza di Pietra. Triple- paned windows kept the noise out in the evening and at night. The rooftop terrace is gorgeous and we loved the breakfast buffet--always fresh croissants and sweet rolls, ciabatta rolls, bread, salami and prosciutto (so?) along with cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, juices plus delicious cappucino. Service was always excellent and pleasant. Location is perfect--next to Temple Adriano, a couple of blocks either direction to Trevi Fountain or the Pantheon. We walked to almost everything we wanted to see in Rome. Room was very clean and nice. We LOVED this hotel!!!!!

Perfect location to view Rome by foot. Staff were amazingly hospitable and friendly and even helped my husband with his rusty Italian. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when we return to Rome. The rooftop bar is spectacular and the breakfast buffet was more than adequate and a fresh change from the usual fry ups. Loved everything about it.

Booked a superior room for five nights in the second half of May - and was pleasantly surprised when I got there. Frankly, my expectations weren't that great; the location was smack in the centre, and I thought the room was going to be one of those claustrophobic shoe boxes. Wrong!

The room, though not cheap at ~130 euros/night, was quite spacious with a small living room, a separate bedroom, and a spacious bathroom (the bathroom included little niceties such as shaving cream, cotton swabs, etc. that are not that common in "three-star" European hotels, at least in my experience). Service was impeccable at all times, polite and friendly, whether at the front desk or the breakfast room. The breakfast was on a rooftop terrace, which was a delight in itself in the sunny Roman mornings.

Finally - and I can't stress this enough - the location was ideal in the best sense of the word. Even among central locations, this is really central. The Colosseum is a twenty-minute walk, the Vatican about twenty-five. The Pantheon is a few steps away; Piazza Navona is nearby as well. The Spanish Steps are twenty minutes away. Even the Villa Borghese can be reached within thirty minutes of walking. I never had to use public transportation during my stay there.

The hotel is approximately a 15-20 - minute taxi ride from the Termini Station, depending on traffic.

Overall impression: I can't think of any complaints - none - and highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is so central you could not be better placed. It is only five mins from Trevi fountain. The restuarants outside the hotel are good value too. The breakfast room is located on the roof which is fantastic. The quality of the breakfast was fantastic, Kellogs cereals in sealed boxes - none of this dip into a bowl!
The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for us, the rooms were spacious and clean.
We would not stay anywhere else in Rome and would recommend it to all.
