Stayed in this hotel in June and had an okay stay. There was nothing wrong with the hotel and service, however it wasn't the most luxuries hotel we have either stayed in. Upon arrival at the hotel the reception was very busy and we had to wait 20 minutes before we could check in, which was not ideal after a day travelling. Once checked in we went up to room, and found the room to be standard hotel room, however there was a few issues. The first despite the room being a non-smoking room there was defiantly a smell of smoke. The second was that when trying the shower the top of the shower head broke off. We reported this straight away to the hotel reception and somebody was sent to our room to replace the shower head within 15 minutes, which we could not complain about. The next thing was we found our television was slightly temperamental. When trying to put some channels on, MTV in particular the tv would freeze up and take 5 minutes to reset it self, which didn't effect our stay to much however it was sometimes annoying. Breakfast was okay but could be improved upon. There was a mixture of hot and cold buffet goods. The cold breakfast good were very tasty, with a range of yoghurt pastries cheeses and meats. The hot breakfast goods was not so good, as there was not enough option for it to work properly, there was only scrambled egg, bacon and frankfurters. Which were all okay, however if you wanted to have a proper cooked breakfast it would have been nice to have more to choose from. For example, choice of eggs, mushrooms, black pudding and proper sausages. The last thing that i will comment on is the hotel bar, which we went into a couple of times before going to bed of an evening. The bar staff were very helpful and friendly and there is no complaint about them. Also the prices in the bar was very reasonable. However in the bar there was a cocktail menu, which when ordering they couldn't do most of them as they were out of ingredients. This happened on two consecutive nights with different ingredients, one being amaretto. This again didn't effect our stay, however i just feel if your going to advertise doing cocktails then make sure you can do them or don't bother doing them at all.
This hotel is though a nice hotel, just with a few things that could be done to improve it. It is also a very good location to explore Rome. It is only a 5 minutes walk form the train station, and the Colosseum, Spanish step and trevi fountain all within 30 minutes walk away, making this a good hotel to stay in if you wish to explore Rome.
