arrived and the room expected was not available. staff gave upgraded room without surcharge. would advise to ask for room with a/c ahead of booking if traveling in warm months as we were told only a few selected rooms have a/c. stayed room 502. great room-cross breezes, windows, nice decor and jacuzzi. breakfast was very high level for a hotel at this price range. super small elevators, but workable.

Room Tip: 502 was a fine room. be sure to ask for a room not facing the xxx parlor.

My wife and I are native of Rome and decided to go to Rome for my 75th birthday. The hotel is small but lovely. Staff is friendly and helpful. The Hotel is super clean and the breakfast is fabulous and available until 1030. Neighborhood is ok (lots of consulate and embassies). From the hotel is reasonably easy to reach most important sites on foot, public transportation or taxies. Would strongly recommend

We booked a last minute long weekend, and although the hotel wasn't as central as we might have hoped, we were very happy. When we booked we paid extra for a king size bed, the room we were given had twin beds. But we loved it so much we didn't complain, it was so big and airy, with French doors and had a shabby chic feel to it. The bathroom was big too, and had a bath with a shower over it. The breakfast was fab, not a lot of cooked choice, but what there was, was very tasty. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The only down side, was the hot water was never very hot, for a bath, but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: We were very happy with room 428, it seemed to be right at the top, it was very big

Just returned from 4 nights here celebrating our wedding anniversary. We had a three bed room which was quite a decent size with good sized bathroom. Overall this is a great, well located hotel. You can walk to most parts of the city yet the area is quiet at night. The staff were all friendly and very helpful and the breakfast was very good too - they had soya milk which is a plus (although it wasn't always out so would need to ask for it) and the eggs were the most amazing deep orange colour. Would certainly stay here again. Only complaint would be the water pressure in the bathroom was quite weak and the water was never really 'hot' which should be fundamental for any hotel. Other than that all good.

Nice rooms, clean and well appointed. All the small things matter, good location that's very close to Termini station decent restaurants and not too far to shopping and sightseeing. The Termini Metro station is pretty close. The breakfast was nice, service was spot on and the food was good quality. Good value in a central location and I would recommend this hotel.

I was treated to a birthday visit to Rome by my boyfriend for three nights in March. He chose this hotel as he knows how much I love Art Deco. I have never walked around a hotel going "wow, look at that!" It is beautifully decorated with excellent rooms, a lovely restaurant and in a great location. We walked pretty much everywhere but on lazy days the metro is a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is in a quiet and extremely safe location - army units nearby due to two embassies along the road!

The staff are fantastic - we unfortunately had an invasion of ants on our first night, were promptly moved to another room before being upgraded the following day. We were also treated to a free dinner on our last night. This is above and beyond what the hotel needed to do so I would like to thank the staff and manager for their generosity. We will return!

Dear Guest
thank you very much for this very nice review
Our location in very appreciated, as our service at the reception. We understand that you had some trouble with the ants but close to our building there are some renovations works that sometimes can cause a "small invasion"....and we apologize for this inconvenience. Now we have definitely solved the situation. Next time we will do our best to arrange all perfectly!!!
We re looking forward to welcoming you soon here at the hotel Artdeco in Rome

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Artdeco for four nights while on a holiday to Rome in August 2012.

I would not recommend this hotel because its location is pretty lousy. It's about a 15 minute walk to the railway station, which is too long for dragging a suitcase. You can forget about strolling around the neighbourhood and coming across lovely little piazzas and restaurants. Yes, there were some restaurants just across the street from the hotel but they were all closed since it was August (ie. the local holiday month). The neighbourhood is very boring and residential and far away from the main tourist sights. We ended up taking taxis both from and to the hotel in the mornings and evenings which considerably increased the cost of the overall stay. In hindsight, it would have been much smarter to stay at a better location and pay a bit extra.

Another negative thing was the breakfast (please note that we visited in August 2012, so things might have changed!), which was just utterly abysmal. Served in a grey and depressing room, the choice was limited to sugary juice made from concentrate, served in plastic (!) glasses, individually packaged bread and biscuits, most of which ran out halfway through and was replaced by even lousier bread, and some very sad looking pieces of cheese and ham. Yes, there was bacon but I can't for the life of me describe the breakfast as extensive. Italian breakfasts don't tend to be particularly exciting or over the top, but this one was especially lousy, extremely basic and with low-value food. We gave up after two mornings and purchased breakfast from a café close to the railway station instead.

The room itself was fine, although the bed was very hard. We especially liked the bath tub and the efficient A/C.

Would rate this hotel as 3 stars, not 4. The room came close to being slightly more luxurious/borderline 4 stars, but the ridiculous breakfast and lack of a nice lobby area place the hotel in the 3 star category.

Dear Guest,
we thank you for your review. We understand you visited us in 2012, and in 2013 the ownership changed and we are from more than a year the new management.
At the moment all the reviews of our breakfast seems to be very nice and all selections offered are very very good because with our chef we daily prepare our cakes, muffin and (tipical) italian Ciambellone . All seems to be very appreciated also in the renewed common area of the hotel and also the changes we made in all our bathroom. Infact we remove the plastic curtains and put a brand new glass doors .
That's why we invite you soon to visit us to check the differences
We looking forward to welcoming you soon .
Best regards
