Fantastic location, beautiful room and excellent staff. My husband and I stayed here for two nights after a long haul flight and left fully rested! This hotel is truly value for money yet it feels anything but cheap. There are lots of great bars and restaurants on its doorstep and the staff were so helpful at every turn. Would recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation.

When I first saw the listing for this hotel, I was intrigued, because of the name...However, the reviews looked good, so we booked two nights here prior to an Eastern Mediterranean cruise. At the outset, this could not have been a better choice - quality, location, food, service - all outstanding.

We'd just flown in from Seattle to Rome, and were a bit tired...but the hotel is only a 10 minute walk from Termini train station [we took the train from the Airport into Rome]. It is deceptive to see this facility on the outside, but like many a good book, the quality is inside the cover. From the initial greeting in the lobby, we were treated very well throughout our stay.

The room was beautiful - with a balcony door opening into a portico - and making you feel like you were truly in Italy - missing only an Italian singer to complete the atmosphere. While the amenities of the room were modern, it did not take away from the flavour of the old building [and it NEVER felt old]. Complimentary Wi-fi was also available in the room!

The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and gave us a great start to the day for our Rome explorations. Maps of the city were available [and better than the ones I'd purchased in Canada] and the Metro [subway] station was only three minutes walk away. [A great caution on the subway though - pickpockets loom - and I caught one young woman with her hand in my pocket - so exercise caution, because it can and could happen to you!]

The bar provided a great respite at the end of the day of Rome wanderings - a glass of chianti, a chance to talk with other travelers, and reflect on the days activities...highly recommend it!

The service was outstanding, and the desk staff all spoke excellent English. We were well treated in response to our many questions [even how to dress appropriately to visit the Vatican].

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome...for quality, price, service, location and food...can't see how you'd go wrong.

Room Tip: Communicate your needs to the staff prior to checking in...we were well taken care of.

Many thanks to all at the Hotel Canada. This was the first overseas hotel my mum(77yo) had stayed in for 22 years and you all made it memorable. All staff very helpful when we needed any assistance and gave us good tips. Breakfast were wonderful with great choices.

Room Tip: Rooms and ensuite facilities spacious, clean and very comfortable. The antique elevator was a treat...

We stayed in June. Arrived at at the airport and took the bus from the airport into the Termini station and walked to the hotel. Cost under 10 Euro's each for the transport from the airport. And Its less for costs for the travel in at the airport you book before you leave.

The location of our hotel...Very cost effective and a Great location. We have never been to Rome Before and were nervous about the reviews about staying near the train station. We are in our 50's and had NO concerns, felt safe and had no problems and can not say enough about the Canada Hotel. The Hotel was so easy to get to and the location served us well. The train was within a block of the train - you leave the front door of the hotel, and go left, and around the block and the train station is there... and we were easily on our way to a variety of areas. We bought a pass while in Rome which allowed us travel on the trains and entry to a variety of touristy area.
Went to Ostia Antica from our hotel which we recommend, and had a great time by train. This is an great area to visit with lots of ruins and not too crowded - its about 45 minutes by train from where we stayed. You have to walk over the bridge and about 10 minutes after arriving to the area. But it is easy to reach.

Had the most beautiful room on the second floor at the Canada Hotel - Room 112. It was my birthday when we arrived... what a wonderful surprise to find a bottle of Champange chilling with chocolates and a card in our room after we returned from sight seeing ..a gift from the Hotel..to say Happy Birthday.. .
We enjoyed our time so much... we are heading back in 2014 - and making the Canada Hotel our stop in Rome... cant wait to come back.

My wife and I stayed for a week at this hotel in early June. We were joined by other family members half way through the trip .All three rooms were great. I can't add to what has been positively stated. The staff was the best. The main reason we chose the Hotel Canada was location with a fair price. Use Castro Pretoria metro stop as it is closer to the hotel. There was a metro strike for two days (one direction per day) and buses, the metro and taxis were hard to catch anywhere in the city. Our saving grace was that the hop on/hop off bus also started at the termini parking lot. My wife enjoyed the hotel room during the day when we needed a few hours respite from all the sight seeing. The hotel is a short stroll to three of my favorite historical churches which I took in during her "down time" :Santa maria Maggiore,Santa Prassede, and Santa Maria della Vittoria, home of Bernini's Ecstacyof St. Teresa. Enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony facing the inside mezzanine

Just back from a lovely 5 night break at the HC-what can I say that's not already been said? We had a beautiful corner room with a super comfy bed and lovely ceiling decoration. It was immaculate. The bathroom was huge and the complimentary toiletries (shampoo, body lotion, shower gel, toothbrushes and paste, vanity set, shower cap, tissues and slippers!) we're a lovely touch. The hair dryer was more than adequate (I have very curly, dry hair and it was fine for me) so I doubt you'd need your own. The air con was brilliant too, especially as it was in the 30's when we visited.

Breakfast was plentiful, with a good selection of fruits, cereals, pastries, bread and meats. The sausages and bacon weren't to my taste, but that's probably just me! Nice juices and ht beverages to choose from. It is a small breakfast room so t can be busy-we found going at 8.50am was good :0)

The staff are really helpful, polite and attentive. Richard at the bar is lovely (did enjoy that wee Frascati wine every night, accompanied by complimentary nibbles!)

We had no bother with the wifi; we were on the first floor though....iPad, tablets etc all connected fine with the necessary logins.

All in all, I can't fault this hotel; close to the termini station, metro and numerous lovely restaurants (we really really liked Taverna Pretoriana and I Leoni d'Abruzzo). Seriously just go and enjoy-we'll certainly be back to Roma and HC.

Sx

We spent 3 nights at the hotel. Nice location, slightly outside the downtown, only 30' minutes walk to downtown and main attractions. Subway station behind the hotel.
Very quiet rooms, and clean. Friendly Staff.
Nice decoration.
No refrigerator/minibar in the room although it should be available according room description.
No regrets!
