“Great stay...!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

Found this hotel on TripAdvisor & was not disappointed. Good value for the cost. Easy walk from the Termini station. Arrived early & they stored our luggage. Very pleasant staff, good size room, plenty of storage space & a huge bathroom. The room was very quiet at night. Charming metal elevator & decor. Breakfast was very good & served in a beautiful dining room. Light snacks were available in the evening. Free wifi was a bonus. Will definitely stay with this hotel again. Thanks for great service.

We stayed for 4 nights.
Location is not as good we thought as people say on here. It is a long walk to get to all the main sites and the immediate surrounding areas are a bit grotty.
The hotel is clean, bar prices cheap ( 2euros for a bottle of peroni), breakfast is ok but not much hot choice (every day only not nice bacon (very fatty), sausage and sloppy scrambled eggs). At least twice my order of tea was forgotten so I had tea after I had eaten after requesting again which was disappointing.
The room is clean, unique and very high ceilings. We stayed in 332 which was great as it was fairly quiet overlooking the courtyard and away from the elevator.
We would return to this hotel if we wanted to stay in this location, which we wouldn't as next time we will look to be more closer to the action. Walkers will be fine staying here.
Close to a tube and bus terminal for the airport. The termini train station is very manic so I'd look to get a coach to and from your hotel.

Room Tip: Away from elevator.

Staying at this hotel for 11 nights in late March was a real treat in every respect. My double superior room was extremely attractive and had lots of storage space. I am a light sleeper and was never disturbed by noise. The breakfast room was tastefully decorated and the food tasty - especially the carrot-orange juice combination and the croissants. The finger food available at the bar after 5:00pm was delicious and very tempting. I was very impressed by the hospitable and helpful attitude displayed by the entire staff. Like many other guests, I would especially single out Richard who was exceptionally courteous and welcoming.l I am looking forward to returning to Rome and wouldn't dream of staying elsewhere.

Also: especially like Mamma Angela's for dinner - 2 blocks away.

We stayed from Dec 22 to 27 last year . It was a wonderful stay. We received great service right from the start. The gentleman who took care of registration and the gentleman who took care of our luggage made us feel welcome. Due to luggage problems, we arrived rather late in the night and had missed dinner. He directed us to Mamma Angela’s where we had a nice meal.
Special mention also goes to Valentina and Noemi who answered our queries and requests for help in the most pleasant manner. The front desk personnel ( My apologies, I did not get his name) who was there most evenings when we were there was always pleasant and helpful. We were also very impressed by the efficiency and kindness of the staff in the breakfast room. The breakfast spread was also excellent. The breakfast room was always bright and cheerful and so were the staff.
They also surprised us with gifts from the staff and management on my daughter's birthday as well as on Christmas.
.
We chose the hotel because it was close to the station. However since we were a party of 4, it was not much more expensive to take the cab around. The hotel staff were very helpful in getting cabs in super quick time for us.
We had a nice room for 4, although it was a bit cramped. The housekeeping staff did a great job of keeping it clean and fresh.
All in all, we were very happy with our few days there. We will definitely choose to stay with them when we visit again. Thanks to everyone for making our stay a nice one.

Room Tip: Calling the hotel directly may get you a better rate.

This hotel was much cheaper than others but the rooms were fine! A short walk to the train terminal. 1.7 miles downhill walk to the coliseum and forum. Small issues with booking due to a cc issue and them not having our cancellation. Staff worked with us though to get it sorted out

We stayed five nights in this hotel. Service was excellent. Staff was helpful with restaurant ideas and always quick to get us a cab when needed. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a nice variety of fresh foods, pastries, etc. every day. Our room was large, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The bathroom was reasonably large and well equipped. We were able to find some rather good restaurants in the neighborhood. While we could walk to some attractions, we often took cabs, which are numerous and reasonable in Rome. We could get to most places within about 15 minutes. The restaurant has a bar with very inexpensive beverages and a nice selection of snacks every evening.

We stayed at the Hotel Canada during Easter for three nights. We found the location to be good - short walk to Castro Pretorio metro station and to Termini.

Our room (322) provided sufficient space for two adults and two teenagers. Our windows faced Via Vicenza, but we could also hear the noise from Viale Castro Pretorio because the room was so close to the corner of the building. I am usually very sensitive to noise, so always have ear plugs with me when traveling. However, I only needed them once on this trip - and that's because someone was speaking very loudly nearby. Maybe Easter time made the traffic little less noisy, or maybe I was just so worn out from all the walking that I fell asleep very quickly. Not sure.

We appreciated the good & friendly service, cleanliness, the breakfast buffet, the big towels in the bathroom, the high ceilings in the rooms, free wifi that worked very well, to mention the top ones that come to my mind now.

On the complaint side: our double bed mattress had a hollow in the middle - some others have complained about the same issue. The noise from Viale Castro Pretorio did bother my husband more.

Will I return to Hotel Canada on my next trip to Rome? I might, but would want to ensure a room on upper floors (at least third) and not overlooking Viale Castro Pretorio.
