Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is very conveniently located by the Central Train station and walk-able (less than 10 mins). It is also close to the Castro Pretorio Metro Station (5 min walk). This made our arrival and departure by train extremely convenient. The rooms are well furnished and the beds were comfortable, but we were disappointed they did not have any in-room fridge. Included breakfast was decent and adequate, although not as gourmet as some of the other hotels where we had stayed while in Italy (e.g. store bought versus fresh baked goods?). The small old-fashioned elevator, while quaint, proved to be a little annoying when we were in a hurry to get in or out of our room. All in all, it was a reasonably priced room in an expensive city like Rome -- we would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Choose a lower level floor if waiting for an elevator bothers you. Higher level if you want to try t...

We had stayed at the Hotel Canada four years ago and gave it a excellent rating. It's still very good. The breakfast is good, but not the outstanding breakfast we experienced four years earlier. The bell staff is very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff is OK, but not the MOST friendly. Hotel Canada is quite convenient to the train station. You wouldn't want to be any closer, but Hotel Canada is just beyond the area of influence of the station. It is right around the corner from a Metro Station. The mattresses are the best we 've experienced in a couple week trip through Italy.

Stayed for 3 nights in a pretty room, all green silk and frescos. Air conditioning was helpful as we had a room on the street and it would be impossible to sleep with window open. Station is nearby and there are excellent links to attractions via the metro. This is a pretty hotel and staff on reception were helpful. Breakfast was OK but with too many sweet things. Even the croissants were covered in sugar. Strange looking scrambled eggs.
I would stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the street should be quieter.

We spent 6 nights at this hotel at the end of our trip in May 2014. The front desk person could not have been more welcoming and helpful. It is in a very convenient location as well. Close to Termini Station, about a 5-10 minute walk, but we found that it is also literally just around the corner from the Castro Pretorio Metro station which is very convenient, especially if carrying a lot of luggage or just want a shorter walk. Great restaurants and cafes all around the neighborhood as well. We especially liked Antica Pizzeria del Secolo just down the street. Accomodations were beyond lovely, beautiful to look at (murals on the ceilings), but also convenient and roomy. A very convenient, beautiful and friendly place to stay.

We decided to spend one night in Rome after our cruise. We had planned to take the train from Civitavechia but ended up squeezed into a large cab with 6 others for 30 euro each which was convenient and not much more cost than the train. The Hotel can be hard to find so you need to make sure to have the exact address with you. Once you know where it is it is easy to make your way back there. This Hotel was very charming and very centrally located to all the cites. We used the subway to get around and it was very close to hotel. The Hotel had a very small lift which was fine ( There are a few steps up to the lift) and our room was a good size and very clean. The room was beautifully decorated in a light green and had a desk, extra table and chairs and a comfy bed. It was nice to open the window and watch people on the street and hear the city noises. With window closed it was quiet. The bathroom had all we needed and many amenities more than in a usual Best Western. The free breakfast was great and in a very nice breakfast room. They also put out tasty bites in the late afternoon which we loved. We found the staff to be friendly. There are a few small restaurants just outside that we tried and liked. This Hotel was the perfect end to a very busy and crowded day and we would definitely stay again. We felt it was worth the cost.

We spend four nights at the hotel. The first night on our arrival in Italy. We had to take our tour at 6h30 the next morning before the breakfast room was open so they prepare us with a great continental breakfast delivered the night before since we were leaving before the opening of the breakfast room

We spend 3 more nights after our return from the tour.

Room was a good size and really clean.
Breakfast has lots of choice and is excellent.
Staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The restaurants recommendation around the hotel were excellent. ( good food quality and affordable price).
Short walk to Termini station.

Only negative would be the distance to the main attraction but it if you don't mind walking it is not a problem.

Room Tip: ask for the back of the hotel if you want to sleep with the window open. other wise once the window...
