“Good location and nice service”

We stayed at this hotel in Dec 2013. The location is great - we could see the Aurelian wall and Borghese garden from our room. The breakfast buffet is good and the staff friendly. And yeah - you can see the vatican from the roof near the breakfast buffet...

My First visit to Rome was excellent. Everything is perfect. Perfect Location, ambiance, Food , Services and total value for my money. I highly recommend this place for people travelling to Rome and requires complete peace of mind..

The location is splendid and the hospitality is awesome, the rooms are spacious and luxurious at such a low price. The swimming pool, indoor games, the restaurant, the green environment, everything is perfect.....!!

Room Tip: pls enjoy the stay at hotel

The hotel is wonderfully situated with easy access to all of the places you would want to see in Rome. The staff is very courteous and attentive. There is a grocery store across the street under ground to buy all the essentials and awesome (inexpensive) wine! We walked everywhere but the train station is across the street too!

Stayed here for business meetings over the Holidays. Loved the location of the hotel. The Red Line Spangnia metro station is literally across the street. Everything in the city is in walking distance if you are mobile. There are a lot of good restaurants in very close proximity. The neighborhood is a little more upper class with very nice shops all around. The Hotel is nice with great staff and and a great view for breakfast on the 7th floor, but the hotel just barely makes it to the Very Good rating and is a long way from excellent due to small details. But overall a good hotel.

We are frequent travelers, some consider me high maintenance. We just stayed for 8 nights at the Grand Flora and had an overall excellent experience. After reading reviews on TA for years and never submitting one, I was compelled to write having read mixed reviews of this property.
I have Platinum status and we used points for the entire stay.
We arrived at 7:ooin the morning and were warmly greeted by front desk staff Chiara and Concierge Massimo Crea. The incredible warm welcome, attention, and helping to get us settled in a room so early really started our trip on a high note, we found all of the staff at the desk to be friendly, attentive and responsive, but Chiara and Massimo truly stand out and deserve special accolades from the manager Sig. Buono. It is excellence in customer service that makes a difference in a hotel stay. Massimo was also spot on with his recommendations, especially for New Years Eve when he suggested we not go to Circus Maximus but to the Coloseo, Forum area. All I can say is we experienced one of the most incredible times we have ever had - and to be in your late 50s and continue to have First and Best Moments is awesome - and as it should be. Many thanks Massimo and Chiara !!!! You really understand being in a service industry, and it is so obvious you love your work ! BRAVO !!!
Our room was a king overlooking the wall on Porta Pinciana. Yes, we heard the garbage pick up in the morning but we slept with our windows open - when we closed them it was quiet. We also used it as a wake up call - much needed due to late nights . Robes were provided on request, housekeeping was excellent with turn down service at a time that worked for us. Bathroom was smaller than what we are used to but two of us got around fine . Towel warmer a plus. Room size was pretty typical for a King Marriott.
We had wine in the bar each evening when we returned from the day. Gianni bartender was TERRIFIC - friendly, warm and was sure to find us the Right Glass of wine - and a nice dish of Parmesan - . It was a nice interlude between walking miles and going out for dinner.
Umbrellas were provided as needed by the doorman.
Breakfast on the lovely rooftop with great views was excellent and I can't imagine anyone not finding it to be well done. This was comped with our elite status and included eggs - soft, hard, scrambled, frittata style, bacon (salty) bangers, potatoes, waffles, pancakes, breads and pastries cheeses, fruits, cereals, juices, prosecco , etc. hard to believe reviews that found it not satisfactory fresh food kept coming out and waitress staff brought any type of coffee, espresso, cappuccino , tea, etc.
Dinner at Felice a Testaccio was one of our favorite meals. Reservations a must for this classic Roman Trattoria and the 8 pm time was perfect. By 9 there wasn't a single table and we got a lead on service.
Private ( excellent ) tours at the Coleseo. forum and Vaticano by Filomena Ricci a local Roman - well worth it ! Filomenaricci699@gmail.com
Airport transfers by Roma Cabs - excellent service. Early, clean Mercedes , friendly English speaking . On our return the driver made a stop for me to say goodbye to a friend without hesitation or add on cost.
Special place for non touristy functional souvenirs - stop at GUSTO a local shop run by the affable Roman owner Marco and Marina that sells items for the kitchen and cooking. Awesome espresso cups, cheese graters, dish towels, wonderful items in a small shop near Piazza Augosto Imperatore just near the Gettyesque Richard Meyer museum and about 10 minutes from Piazza del Popolo. Items small and large that you will use for years to come and will evoke memories on a daily basis. They also sell these amazing cimaballini ( wrong word I am sure, but they are in the overhead compartment right now) quarter to dollar coin sized cracker / cookie type made with wine - I am so sorry I don't have more of these - awesome so stock up. Very unique. There is a pizzeria next door but we really liked our lunch around the corner at GUSTO Osteria where there is an open wood burning oven.
Two thumbs up to the staff and team at the Marriott Grand Flora !! Well well done ! Grazie Mille Massimo, Chiara, Gianni, Sig. Buono !

Room Tip: There are rooms facing an interior courtyard - didn't see them but they will be quieter for sure

the hotel is nice, beautiful colors, well situated, personal service staff is excellent, but missing small details and amenities in room that would spoil the name of the Marriott:
1- no complimentary water bottles in room, imagine you have to buy every bottle at 4.5 euros+tax while it cost barely 0.5 euros.
2- bathrobe and slippers for one person in a room of 2.
3- no combs
4- no dental brush and cream.
5- the famous pillows of Marriott hotels worldwide were in-existing in this Marriott instead there was old cotton uncomfortable pillows...etc...
the room is small and the bathroom small in spite that it is very well decorated - all in beautiful marble and wall cloth.
the room was overheated and every time we turned the a/c down, it comes back to default heat when we go out of the room and then back to sauna.
the breakfast was standard, no super food but good food.
but overall it was a very nice stay at hotel that i would come back if these small amenities were fixed.

Was here a few days for business... Nothing bad to say about the hotel. Friendly and helpful front staff, right next to a taxi stand so convenient to get out at night and pretty central in Rome. Breakfast was good and has a fantastic view over the city!
