This was a letter sent to the hotel after our stay:
"Our nightmare literally started with you when we arrived at your hotel by taxi from the Airport. The check in person was down right rude and very unpleasant. He merely checked us in, gave us no information and threw our door cards on the desk! The problems got worse as time went on:
Our room balcony doors would not lock, hotel refused to fix this.
Bed had ants inside it on 3 of our 4 night stay! The sheets are very coarse and cause abrasions to the skin.
Key card stopped working after first night.
Bar closes at midnight and we were told to just go to our room by the front desk staff and shoed away with what can only be described as by a rude hand gesture.
Breakfast is NOT as described. You describe it as an American Buffet, this is not true at all! The eggs are undercooked, the sausage is poor quality and even has bone in it! My wife has just been confirmed that she got food poisoning from your buffet!
Breakfast staff are continuously invading your privacy by taking your cups and plates BEFORE you have even finished!
Spa staff refused to give me another Key to a locker as it would not work, I had to complain to management in the main hotel before they would replace it!
Pool an steam rooms are dirty and smelly and many things do not work. 60% of bulbs in the steam room do not work, 70% of jacuzzis in the pool area do not work, the grouting in the tiles is old and going black. Life guards are rude and invade your space by continuously walking round and standing next to you while you're in the pool.
Worst of all, your door staff at the front of the hotel are actively working with local Taxi drivers to rob the hotel guests. The taxi driver tried to charge us 93 euros to the Campiano Airport!
My wife speaks italian and heard the doorman say to the Taxi driver, these are from Britain, you can make plenty, call me when you get to the airport! I am reporting this to your local Police.
Some of this was reported to Daniel, duty manager. He sent us a bottle of Preseco and fruit. A nice gesture but irrelevant really when you consider that our wedding anniversary has been completely ruined by this experience.
You claim to be a 5* hotel with excellent facilities, this is not the case. We paid you nearly 400 euro per night and feel this should be refunded for what is a disgusting and ultimate betrayal of your customer service promise."
