I have been to Rome many times and have stayed in the best. This hotel is up there with the best except for one thing . That they genuinely care about their clientele and it shows .
I can't recommend this hotel enough , bravo congratulations
These people are hoteliers from start to finish. I wish them continued success x

We had booked rooms for ourselves and our three sons and their wives in the Splendide Royal.
On arrival, we were informed that the booking had been lost by their system and there was nothing they could do. My youngest son, who arrived first, is very familiar with the hotel sector as he is a wine merchant dealing with hotel groups on a daily basis. He firmly suggested that the manager should be fund and a solution sought before my husband walked through the door.
Result? We were asked if we would accept rooms in their sister hotel. What a happy accident!
We were greeted at Parco dei Principe with the utmost concern and efficiency by a seriously good senior receptionist/ manager who continued to be the epitome of courteous host for the whole week-end. Our family adored it in this beautiful hotel and we smoothed our ruffled feathers very quickly when we realised what a wonderful ambiance the hotel offered its guests.
We spent a particularly happy hour or so one afternoon at the poolside terrace where the young bartender was a deft and solicitous in making sure our complimentary bottles of Prosecco were thoroughly chilled and that our table was big enough to accommodate the whole family. We are a gregarious lot and I only hope one of us tipped him generously as he was a perfect example of what customer service ought to be. None of us wanted to leave at the end of the week-end and there were a few tears as we departed in various taxis. A perfect family week-end with the initial hiccough elegantly soothed by a consummate professional behind the desk in this wonderful hotel.
We will return as the location is good for central Rome and it is such a lovely place to return to after pounding the hot pavements of The city.

This was a letter sent to the hotel after our stay:

"Our nightmare literally started with you when we arrived at your hotel by taxi from the Airport. The check in person was down right rude and very unpleasant. He merely checked us in, gave us no information and threw our door cards on the desk! The problems got worse as time went on:

Our room balcony doors would not lock, hotel refused to fix this.

Bed had ants inside it on 3 of our 4 night stay! The sheets are very coarse and cause abrasions to the skin.

Key card stopped working after first night.

Bar closes at midnight and we were told to just go to our room by the front desk staff and shoed away with what can only be described as by a rude hand gesture.

Breakfast is NOT as described. You describe it as an American Buffet, this is not true at all! The eggs are undercooked, the sausage is poor quality and even has bone in it! My wife has just been confirmed that she got food poisoning from your buffet!

Breakfast staff are continuously invading your privacy by taking your cups and plates BEFORE you have even finished!
Spa staff refused to give me another Key to a locker as it would not work, I had to complain to management in the main hotel before they would replace it!

Pool an steam rooms are dirty and smelly and many things do not work. 60% of bulbs in the steam room do not work, 70% of jacuzzis in the pool area do not work, the grouting in the tiles is old and going black. Life guards are rude and invade your space by continuously walking round and standing next to you while you're in the pool.

Worst of all, your door staff at the front of the hotel are actively working with local Taxi drivers to rob the hotel guests. The taxi driver tried to charge us 93 euros to the Campiano Airport!

My wife speaks italian and heard the doorman say to the Taxi driver, these are from Britain, you can make plenty, call me when you get to the airport! I am reporting this to your local Police.

Some of this was reported to Daniel, duty manager. He sent us a bottle of Preseco and fruit. A nice gesture but irrelevant really when you consider that our wedding anniversary has been completely ruined by this experience.

You claim to be a 5* hotel with excellent facilities, this is not the case. We paid you nearly 400 euro per night and feel this should be refunded for what is a disgusting and ultimate betrayal of your customer service promise."

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 5 night tour with Uniworld.
The hotel is glamorous and very formal. I found the reception staff to be extremely helpful.
One gentleman did the check in for our flight while we were out touring. As soon as I walked near the desk his was armed with a pleasant greeting using my name and handed me our boarding passes. All the personnel we came in touch with were very nice.
Breakfast was included with our room. It was more than enough and had some of my favorite Italian pastry each morning. The pool was used by several in our group and the really enjoyed it.
Internet cost a bit over $13 for a 24 hour period.
Taxi from the sights was around 10 Euros including tip well worth it for our tired feet after many hours of seeing the sights.

Having read some reviews prior to our trip I was somewhat alerted to the negativity surrounding this particular hotel. However, I can honestly say whilst many criticised the hotel for a number of legitimate reasons, very few had any understanding of the Italian 'way'. It is said that Romans suffer from 'Caesar complex', but I love the Italian way so have a different take on the service and manner of Italians in general. This hotel might appear 'stuffy', but the staff always polite, to the point and always helpful. It was expensive, but always check that out before visiting, don't assume you'll get anything for free. The wifi is chargeable everywhere. The minimum cost for most things (Coffee, beer, ice-cream, wifi) is €10. The rooms charmingly Italian with Botticelli style everywhere. The bed linen was 'delicious', incredible quality and fabulously comfortable beds. Don't expect to make coffee in your room, don't large bathrooms, don't expect to be informed of how things work or where things are, but do expect efficiency and hard working staff. The spa is slightly pretentious and a bit of a palaver to get in but I guess I only wanted to use the gym which was well equipped with a nice cafe (good for morning coffee if you don't want a €25 breakfast in the restaurant upstairs). The outdoor pool was lovely, well looked after, screaming kids can be a pain, but that's not the hotel's fault - not that it was a big problem - sometimes it was loud adults on mobile phones. The hotel is overlooking 'Villa Borghese', a quiet and dignified area surrounded by the world embassies (we compared this area to Regents Park in London). Don't expect too much activity around here including restaurants or shops, but a quick taxi ride all can be found only 10 minutes away in the centre, equally a brisk walk (with trainers) you can walk to most places in half an hour. We enjoyed being shattered all day, returning back to peace and tranquility in the afternoons by the pool. I would definitely visit again now that we know the score, and therefore would recommend this hotel to everyone (except families with children as there isn't enough to occupy the young).

Room Tip: We booked a superior room, but all this meant was road view side and not the uber superior pool/borg...

The rooms and espically the Swimming pool were very nice and enjoyable. Rooms were of a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was for Italian Standards excellent, especially the Terrasse, where you can enjoy the nice temperatures in the Mornings.
A negative Point was the shuttle, which was only going to the edge of the City centre and not on Weekends, saving 10 minutes of Walking.
The Concierge was knwoledgable and gave good tips regarding Restaurants.

We LOVED this hotel! Not only is it beautiful, in a quiet but still central location, but, it was just an all around amazing experience. Rome is so wonderful, it was easily my favorite part of the trip out of 7 destinations/ports in France, Spain & Italy. We will definitely be going back. To top it all off, the SPA at Parco Dei Principi is EXQUISITE!!!!!!! It is soooo beautiful, it's breathtaking and the service at this hotel is top notch. All in all, a 5-star experience that we would recommend to everyone!
