Normally I stay at cheaper hotels but due to a seminar I stayed for 2 nights. The overall empression is that it is a very nice hotel with a focus on having sufficient staff, however not all the staff seemed equal competent. Rooms as the rest of the hotel is classically and (in my opinion) old type. There are nice balconies to the room. Free wifi of poor quality. Very comfy beds. Breakfast and especially lunch was not a 5 Star hotel worthy. The location of the hotel is slightly outside, ie if you are in for an evening walk (20-30 min) there is nothing in the nighborhood except for the park. For the Price I paid (160 EUR/night) it was good value but the hotel Can charge up to more than 500 EUR Per nigth for which it is not worth.

The Parco really was a forgettable experience for us. In 2 weeks in Italy and all of our previous travels we have never had a more rude person checking us in. It was my wife's 30th Birthday the day that we arrived and through email the Parco had promised us VIP check in and instead we where treated with absolute disdain by the check in gentleman and the concierge I tried to book a restaurant through. The bed was incredibly comfortable which was really the only big plus, the bathrooms finishings where tired and falling apart and the wine glasses in our room where so dirty you probably wouldn't have let your dog drink out of them. For a hotel that is charging top dollar promising a 5 Star service this was a bitter disappointment. I would recommend that you could get far better Value from a place with a similar price range.

We booked this long awaited trip to Rome to include my wife's birthday. The hotel was strongly recommended by our regular travel agents, who have rarely given us the wrong advice, but I am afraid that on this occasion that was the case.
The hotel was wrong for two reasons. First, its location is actually rather lovely, next to the Borghese Gardens and overlooking the zoological gardens, although that was not in the least intrusive. But for anyone wanting to stay somewhere with easy access to the centre of the city, forget it. It's a twenty minute moderate walk to the city walls and the top of the Via Veneto, which is where the real city starts. That is where a lot of the luxury hotels are - but it takes another ten minutes at least to get to the other end where the tourist action starts. Public transport is not really an alternative, which leaves taxis, and our experience taught us that Rome taxi drivers will overcharge you without breaking sweat. We longed for a black cab with a complaining but scrupulously honest cabbie! So only use this hotel if you are happy with this state of affairs.
The second reason is that this hotel has a split personality. The fabric of the place is as good as any 5 star hotel in London or Paris. The bedroom we had was superb: roomy, wonderful bed and very well equipped bathroom. The public areas are very, very good as well. We didn't use the spa but we are quite prepared to believe that this is very good as well. But it's the staff that's the problem. If I go to a 5 star hotel in a principal city, I don't expect to arrive in a taxi and have to carry our own luggage to the check-in desk, but that is what happened. Also, Reception was staffed by numerous people dressed like flunkeys, but with one, or possibly two, notable exceptions, they were spectacularly unhelpful. Room service, on the one occasion we tried it, was a complete joke. The waiting staff at breakfast (which itself was pretty ordinary, and everything, repeat everything, was help yourself) were clearly on a mission to do nothing but clear plates and so on from one's table, even to the extent of trying to take away food which we were still eating. On our first breakfast (when the dining room was bursting to the seams with a couple of coach parties!!!) we got our juices, and fruit, went to get cereal, and when we returned to the table everything had been taken away. Pathetic.
This is all a great shame. With better training for staff, and telling them not to be so up themselves, that they are there to serve, not to prance around like popinjays, this could be a really good place to stay.

Lovely! I'm ultra fussy. Be advised. The beds were wonderful as was the bedding! Rooms were luxurious and well appointed. Mine had a balcony. When I needed service someone arrived in a few minutes....max. The gym and spa are amount the very best I've seen. Period. Only negative was the small shower and poor bar selection. But the food was fantastic. Stay here to be away from the tourists. On my next trip I will spend 3 to 4 nights and relocate to a central tourist area. Love it! Thanks to all at Parco dei Principi!

Our 1st visit to Rome was a huge success and truly a learning experience. The hotel was a good part of the success even though it seemed a bit removed from the centre. Staff were friendly especially in the Spa area where we enjoyed some of the best hot rock massages known to mankind. The restaurants were fairly sparse in the local area, but we actually found a favorite just a few blocks away. Rooms were comfy, but a few issues with the bath and fixtures that seemed to be dated. We would return back to this hotel for overall experience, but again it is away from the main attractions and expect a few cab fares to be included in your travel budget.
