The room was beautiful as was the pool. The adjacent park was very pleasant to walk through. We didn't mind walking several miles a day for sightseeing but taxis were available. As nice as any hotel I have ever stayed in comparable to The W or Four Seasons.

The hotel is stupidly expensive for what you get. Further, the service is bad. They tried to charge me a lot more than it was supposed, food and drinks I never had...etc. The room would never be made before 15 hrs..
I would not reccommend it.

A/C did not work well in two of our rooms. Fourth night go up to rooms after 13 hour tour day- keys dont work for the rooms. Go down and the stuffy desk clerk remakes the key- no explanation nor an apology. The worst experience was when we had the concierge call for a van for 6 people.. we were waiting several minutes and an Italian family arrived and asked for the same thing. The van arrives and he gives it to them..tells us that there are no more vans and we will have to go in two cars and only one is available. Walked away and booked an uber van that arrived in 10 minutes. This old school slighting of tourists isn't prevalent anymore- except at this overpriced place.
All over Europe- this kind of money buys good considerate service..come here to get treated like a second class visitor.

There aren't a lot of options for a sprawling quiet property in Rome with a pool that you can swim laps in, but this IS the place! The attached Prince gym is MASSIVE! AMAZING indoor lap pool with calming dark ceiling with starlights, and various different jacuzzi's and water treatments. Large weight and cardio rooms, punching bags, dance room, health juice bar, hair salon, shop and relaxation room. Honestly, my favorite gym in the world. If it's raining in Rome, you have something to do! Very clean. The hotel is centrally located by the park with a 30 minute walk through to the Spanish Steps or run or bike in the park that has a zoo!! The hotel itself is quite dated in it's decadent style, and bathrooms are quite small, but it is clean. Staff is very busy, but helpful if you can gt them. Breakfast is AMAZING! and friendly wait staff. Dinner in the hotel was so slow and not so good. Room service was $70 for a coffee, but food was good. I really recommend this hotel, but go down for breakfast. You don't want to miss it!

Room Tip: get a corner room!!! adjoining rooms for families are good as well!

I couldn’t wait to review this hotel as we had a wonderful experience. I looked at some of the bad reviews first as I was just curious. Some of the reviews were from clearly spoilt people and others I couldn’t believe were the same hotel. There were very few legitimate grumbles. Pay no attention! We booked in last minute after being messed around at the original appartment we’d arrived at and wondered why the hell we’d not booked here in the first place. We were greeted by a very smartly dressed, caped, friendly and helpful doorman who opened the taxi door for us, helped us with our bags and guided us to reception. Checking in took a little time as our booking only landed there 5 mins before our arrival so entirely excusable. We were ushered to our room by a helpful, friendly porter and arrived in our room that can only be described as old world grandeur. Huge bed, quality furniture and trimmings and a balcony over looking the outdoor pool. Very helpful was the range of sockets in case you hadn’t brought adapters. I’ve no idea why but Sky Go and BBC iPlayer apps worked here. Not sure if that is Rome/Italy as a whole (as they didn’t work in Amsterdam) or specifically the hotel. The WiFi was good and the air conditioning was very effective. We can’t comment on the spa and restaurant as we didn’t utilise them - like a lot of restaurants in Rome, they don’t open until 7/8pm which was too late for our little one and so we ate out. Read other reviews on the spa as the general consensus is fantastic. The pool is a great sun trap and there is plenty of opportunity for shade. The pool was large enough and the area was not over crowded (although we went mid week), I read there may be a difference at weekend. The pool side bar was a little slow and the food was so-so. Breakfast was fantastic, every whim was catered for including free prosecco if you were so inclined. It was VERY impressive! The staff were polite and helpful although I did feel a little out of my depth, especially with what seemed to be the who’s who of Rome constantly in and out - it was like The bold and the Beaufiful in there. But this added to our enjoyment rather than detract. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel. It is next to Borghese Gardens and there is a taxi rank outside to take you anywhere you require. A great experience!
