Beautifully appointed in a high end neighborhood this hotel is a delight. The staff is knowledgable and attentive. Breakfast is excellent. We tried the bar and found excellent cocktails and wine. We were so impressed with our bar experience that we decided to try the restaurant. We are very particular about dining and have enjoyed the best restaurants all over the world. The restaurant was in the very top of the best we've experienced. The preparation, presentation, combination, taste were incredible. The wine list is wonderful, they were noted in Wine Spectator in 2013. We enjoyed a Barbara d'Asti and they saved what was left from our bottle for us for another day. We are very happy we stayed here and that we dined here. There is no fitness center but we have mastered room workouts. With walking and the bikes available there is ample opportunity to get exercise. Spa and a pool would have been nice but certainly not a deal breaker and with the busy schedule seeing Rome is not something we missed.

Room Tip: All rooms appear to be very good. We had a king front location. They close the windows with shield...

This was a five day Rome break and although the hotel is not totally central it is within15mins tram ride from the road below to the Basilica and hence central Rome. Taxis are approx €10 to central areas and plentiful. Even more fun is using the hotel cycles (free) and exploring at one's leisure. The Borghese park is close-by an easy to cycle across to the tourist areas of the city - that's from a 62 yr old.
The Reception/Concierge were delightful helping all guests with individual problems whether travel routes, restaurants, flight reservations etc - cannot compliment them enough.
The hotel is on a small hill in a quiet residential area an the rooms were very clean, well appointed and adhere to the SLH promise of an upgrade if available - thank you!
Breakfast was most enjoyable in a charming art-deco dining room, but remember to ask for your style of eggs.
All the staff were very friendly and I would certainly recommend the hotel, however do try and achieve a front facing room.

Room Tip: Try for a front facing room as brighter and high for as good an outlook as possible..

Whilst it is a ten minute walk into the nearest piazza, it is worth staying there for the tranquillity of the hotel itself. There is no spa and limited outdoor seating, but the rooms and communal areas are welcoming, clean and comfortable. Staff couldn't be any more helpful. Breakfast was fantastic and set you up for the day - so much so that we didn't need to eat again until gelato time at 3-4pm! We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening, but we did have some very good food and cocktails in the bar. Taxi ride to the Vatican/Coliseum/Pantheon approximately 11 Euros.

Peace and quiet at night as this hotel is located in a well-heeled area of Rome, off the tourist routes separated by the Villa Borghese park from attractions such as the Piazza di Popolo, the Spanish Steps and Via Veneto. In July or August a walk across this park might be a struggle due to the heat, but in May it was a pure delight, taking about 15-20 minutes with a stop by the "turtle lake" a must. The hotel itself blends somewhat into its surroundings, looking at first glance not unlike some of the apartment buildings nearby, but once inside you know you are in a class establishment. Staff in general were very good - low key, but extremely effective. In particular housekeeping, who not only put clothes away, but also selected and laid out for my wife what she should wear when retiring for the night! We dined out each night so I cannot comment on the hotel restaurant, although it seems to have a good reputation. Breakfasts were good, and I thought the selection was reasonable, but perhaps felt the orange juice was a little diluted, and not quite up to the mark for a 5 star hotel.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for witnessing about your stay. Your words reward our daily efforts. Concerning the breakfast note, we have taken it into serious consideration and have already replaced the orange juice with a high quality one.
We truly look forward to welcoming you and your wife in the near future.
Kind regards,
A. Ottaviani

It may be a little off the beaten track, but oh so worth it. Especially after a long day of sightseeing Rome. When you return you can open a window and not hear a sound. Except for maybe a distant church bell. The breakfast is everything you need to start a day with the most kind and courteous staff in all of Rome. Large accommodations make this a perfect choice for a sophisticated stay.

Stayed there in April and we liked the experience! Location is near Villa Borghese and the central parts of Rome is accessible by taxi (3 min drive). Rome is a wonderful city :)

There is concierge service that helped us to book restuarants and tickets to museum in advance. Very convenient.

I would only wish for more interesting breakfast selection (there was standard set of dishes) like fresh berries variety and fresh bakery...

Room Tip: register in small luxery hotels and ask for a free room upgrade :)

It was my pleasure to return in May 2014 to the Hotel Lord Byron in Rome, Italy, and once again to visit with friends and staff members whom I have come to know well during my stays at this splendid facility over the past fifteen years. I always expect the finest in service and accommodations when I stay at the Lord Byron, but each visit seems to "one up" previous experiences. This visit certainly was no exception. The personal attention given to each customer, the extent to which the staff goes to ensure exceptional service, the oversight provided by the owner and resident of the Lord Byron Mr. Amedeo Ottaviani, and the quality of every detail of one's stay make each visit to my "home away from home" in Rome one of my most enjoyable and unforgettable experiences of my travel. I have recommended this facility to my friends and colleagues; I have taken friends and associates with me when staying at the Lord Byron; and I will continue to give this facility my highest recommendation to all who visit the magnificent city of Rome, Italy. It truly is a special place that provides exceptional service.
