“Great Experience”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

We had a triple (3 twins) room 411. The room size was good. It had a very nice bathroom and a small balcony. The building was very nice and well appointed. We saw quite a few tour groups that use the hotel as a staging stopover before going on a cruise. American airlines also uses it for their Charlotte, NC bases crews.
There is a doorman, porter and a concierge. They have a nice breakfast with seating on the balcony. Room service is available, but pricey. There is a Hard Rock Cafe next door. The American Embassy is down the street.
There are lots of places to eat nearby. The metro stop is a block away.
There is also a huge park within walking distance. We walked to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. I am 62 years old and walking is not my favorite thing - but I found it was very simple to walk lots of places.
I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 411 was quiet, and everything was in working order

We have spent 3 days in Rome with my family. We certainly liked the city of Rome and Vatican. We found the whole area like an open museum, fascinating part of the world.

Everything so expensive, restaurants , bars and shopping in general compare to London were in the region double the price.

The Hotel was OK but not 5 star. It did not have the feel of the luxury
.
We left a small jumper behind and we contacted them to send it to us by normal post.Unfortunately they told us it was not possible to send it by normal post to London. They insisted to send by special courier at a cost of € 45.00 !!! We told the manager to give it to a local charity.

Clean and tidy hotel, if a little clinical, in Central Rome. We felt the staff were efficient although a little cold. We were asked if we wanted an upgrade for €10 per night which placed us on the recently refurbished fifth floor. Compared to our friends room on the fourth floor, the upgrade was worth the extra. Selection for breakfast was good. There is tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but no milk and replenishment of the tea and coffee was a bit hit and miss. All sights are easily reachable from the hotel and there is a concierge to help you if needed. Overall we felt that the room rate was a bit on the high side, but high prices is typical when in Rome.

Room Tip: Pay extra €10 per night for an upgrade to the fifth floor.

This hotel is really no five star hotel. There is no tea / coffee maker and when we asked for an iron, we were informed that this was "not possible".
We had paid for a suite which however turned out to be on the 6th floor just under a machine plant (probably a central air conditioning). The noise of the machines was unbearable and we could not use the balcony because of the terrible noise. We complained and were given another room on the 3rd floor, but this was not a suite and the standard was lower.
The breakfast was OK, but miserably deployed. If you do not eat pork you will certainly have problems because there is always a common fork for bacon and cheese and the scrambled eggs are always placed between bacon and sausage on a steam bath in a closed container where vapor freely circulates between the different foods. Insensitive and disrespectful.

Dear Mr Majid O,

Thank you for taking your time to share your considerations regarding your stay at our hotel with us.

Upon arrival we offered you a room in our standard category, according to your reservation and our previous confirmation. As soon as we learned that the assigned room was too noisy for you, we arranged for an immediate change in a quiet room for you.

A coffee maker and an iron with ironing board as a standard are not part of our guest room amenities as we offer ironing service 7 days a week and a daily room service starting from 07.00 am to midnight for all other wishes and requests.

Your suggestions regarding the buffet breakfast have been very helpful in order to continually improve our offer.

We would be delighted to welcome you again at our hotel.

With the kindest regards
M. Morra

A traditional hotel in a perfect location with old world charm. The service is warm and caring from the front desk to the bellman to the wonderful concierge's ! Breakfast is included lots of fresh fruit and Italian pastries and hot American style eggs etc. 5th floor is upgraded with lots of luxe bedding etc. worth the upgrade. Great cafés and restaurants all in walking distance. Subway is close by and easy to use. Talk to all the concierge's they can help you plan and give you great travel advice! Would stay there again.

Room Tip: 5th floor worth the upgrade.

This hotel is right on the Via Vittorio Veneto which is a great location. Close to the metro. The only BIG downside is the beds are hard as rocks and they need to get better pillows. The pillows are flat and very hard as well. My shower had mold in it and needed a good cleaning as well. The staff is excellent and very helpful.
Sorry for the bad write up...but I have to be truthful. For a Five Star rated hotel this Palace needs an upgrade!

We recently stayed for 10 days at the Ambasciatori and it was wonderful. The staff, the location, everything was absolutely wonderful. The food was fabulous and the service was outstanding. We had the time of our lives. Thanks!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the Via Veneta are quieter

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Five-star luxury for the Ambasciatori Palace in via Vittorio Veneto, an elegant window facing the Eternal City. In an enviable location, the hotel blends the magic of traditional hospitality with contemporary elegance. Known as 'Ambassadors' Palace', it was originally built in 1903 and it has been the location of international affairs between diplomats from the nearby Embassies and a witness to the excitement of the mundane 'Dolce Vita'. The restoration was made according to the original structure of the environment, and repeating and interpreting the existing decorations: the Brazilian granite columns and the intricate wrought-iron balustrade of the grand staircase, the marble floors and the polychromatic mosaic and the pleasant succession of stuccoes, the Venetian chandeliers and skylights. The welcoming and aristocratic atmosphere of the Ambasciatori Palace combines with exclusive services provided and a careful attention to technology and comfort. The 152 rooms are bright, spacious and finely furnished, decorated in soft colors and aristocratic textures. The new Ambassador Rooms are equipped with TouchControl devices to adjust temperature and lighting and MediaHub to connect the HD screen to the TV audio/video devices. Guests can use the Fitness Center, dine at the refined and elegant restaurant 'La Terrazza', renowned for its culinary fame since the 1920's, the Embassy Bar and Bistro corner and complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms and public areas. The privileged position of the Ambasciatori Palace, in the business district, makes the Hotel the ideal location for business trips, meetings , exhibitions , banquets and vernissage. The elegant business center includes several multipurpose rooms of different sizes, some with natural light and overlooking via Veneto. The main hall is housed in the ballroom. The Ambasciatori Palace is the ideal place for an unforgettable stay among the most legendary historical-artistic monuments and the elegant shopping streets of Rome. A few steps from the Metropolitana Train (stop Barberini) allows a pleasant walk to the Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona and the main railway Station Termini. ... more   less
