“First rate staff at a great hotel”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

An outstanding hotel. Mario and Elisabeth at the front desk are truly exceptional - my sister and I were traveling with our 10-year old niece, and they went out of their way every time they saw her to make her feel special. Our triple room on the 6th floor was roomy (by European standards) and had been recently renovated. Beautiful rooftop garden was a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast every morning, and the breakfast itself had a nice selection. It was a 10-20 minute walk to most of the famous sights in the city, and the hotel is set in a great neighborhood with restaurants and a shops. Will absolutely stay here again when we return to Rome!

Room Tip: our 6th floor triple room was very spacious

Great hotel to stay in. We were on 6th floor and room was very clean and comfortable, just up staircase to breakfast or roof terrace bar in evening. Only down side no coffee or tea making facilities in room. The staff are very friendly and helpful at reception, booking a taxi and giving directions to get to places. The roof terrace bar is great to have a drink in the evening and the barman who served us each night was very friendly and happy to recommend different cocktails. The hotel itself is ten mins walk to the termini train station where you can use the metro or hop on/ hop off bus to see the sights. This is the best way as the sights are well spread out. Across the road from the hotel are a couple of restaurants , both reasonably priced, especially after the cost of a light bite in Vatican city. Would recommend trying the spaghetti bolognaise.
Would definitely stay at this hotel again if ever in Rome and recommend it to others.

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel and I have to say that the hotel was beautiful, in a great location and the staff was amazing! Mario at the front desk was especially helpful in finding us a restaurant that served gluten free pasta, helped us with tours and any other questions we may have had. The rooftop garden had an amazing view and the breakfast was great! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone who will be spending time in Rome. Loved it!

This hotel was more reasonably priced than other 4 star hotels we considered in Rome. It is in a fairly quiet, residential area but only 10 minutes walk to Piazza Republica and Termini Station. Our room was on level 6. It was very modern and reasonably sized. There was one feature that seemed odd, in that the shower cubicle was in the room as you walked in, rather than in the bathroom and the shower cubicle was quite narrow, making it difficult to bend down. However, the room was clean and quiet and the air conditioning worked well. We enjoyed breakfast on the rooftop dining/bar area which has great views of Rome, including St Peter's dome. Breakfast included some continental choices as well as scrambled eggs. Staff were helpful, giving advice on which buses to catch (we were able to take a bus directly to the Vatican). There were also some good restaurants nearby. On the whole, we had a pleasant stay.

We stayed here based on our travel agent's advice. I'm glad we did. It was convenient to the most of Rome via taxi. We had breakfast included which was a perk! The rooftop bar and restaurant was a nice touch. Staff was friendly. Room was nice; however, there was no fitness center. This hotel is nice because its close to the train station- not close enough to walk unless you are ambitious but within 15 mins. It is however close to the Santa Maria delgi Angeli which has to be one of the best churches to visit in Rome. It is also close to the Republica Metro Station if you choose to use it. As for the Roma card, we chose not to purchase it.

We stayed for 4 days. This was too long if we had to do it again. I think 3 days is enough especially if you choose to do the Top Bike Tours. We arrived at 9 AM and took the tour at 3PM which lasted for 3-4 hours. This gave us a great overview of the city. We did this only because we did a similar one in Paris and loved it! The tour was great and and gave us an overview of the city. Therefore reducing the need to stay an extra day.

This was our first stop on our first trip to Italy. The staff was more than helpful and so kind to us. They gave us all kinds of restaurant recommendations that were all wonderful. The roof top bar/restaurant was a beautiful get away after a long day of sightseeing. Salvatore the bartender was amazing helpful with great suggestions, even making us a reservations for dinner one night. The hotel is in a great location and just far enough from the center of Rome yet just close enough to make it perfect. There is a wonderful Gelato store around the corner, that all the locals seem to love, after trying it I understood why. The room was lovely. I read that some people complained about the noise. Our room was on the 6th floor and had extra sound proofing. We did not hear a thing. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to come back myself.
Thanks again for making our stay so nice

Just got back from a city break in Rome and stayed at the Marcella Royal hotel. It's not right in the centre of the city but it's in reasonable walking distance from the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, and other sites are close enough that you can get to if you are prepared to walk for a while.

We had one of the slightly older rooms on the fifth floor (the only floor with small balconies) but the room was immaculately clean and fine for a couple on a short break. Besides, we rarely spent much time in the room with both sightseeing and spending time on the lovely roof terrace which is perfect for a continental breakfast or watching the Eternal City slip slowly into the evening with a nice bottle of wine.

The staff were very polite, courteous and helpful, with recommendations for sights and eating places. Very nice restaurants on the Via Flavia and there is a gelataria just round the corner that has simply the best gelato (Italian ice cream) that I've ever tasted.

I would absolutely recommend the hotel; just remember this is a city hotel with prices accordingly higher than a typical tourist destination.
