“A Lovely Oasis”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

Our second experience of a hotel in Rome - and it was wonderful. Suite (upgrade from a Double) was spacious, with bathroom facilities modern and spotless (loved the multi-jet shower!), and excellent maid service. Breakfast was all we expected, but of special note was the lounge/bar - we had planned to go out for dinner on our first night, but after wonderful hot appetisers (freshly made by the bartender while we had our first drinks), we decided on club sandwiches - once again freshly made and delicious, while we had second drinks. Not a cheap stay, but thoroughly recommended

We stayed in the annex building. It was a little odd to get to our room through a building that had private residences, but it was very quiet and did not have the hotel feel. The room was great. The air conditioning was nice after a hot day on the streets, however it was a little week with the fan speed and could have been a few degrees cooler. There was an unusual smell at the entrance of our room, but thankfully we could only smell it when we were at the door. The stall was very helpful with tours and suggestions on the things to see. Breakfast was typical European, choice of eggs and buffet of select meats, cheeses and pastries. I would definitely stay here again. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel is in the perfect location, near Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vittoria Emanulle, with many restaurants and shops in the area. I have been to Rome several times and this hotel has the most pleasant English speaking staff, and most comfortable beds ever. I visited this hotel in July of this year and it was extremely hot, but the room was air conditioned, and it did serve the purpose enough to make it comfortable to sleep. Granted the rooms are small, but so isnt every other room in Rome by American standards. You will not be dissappointed.

The Barocco Hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance to the Spanish Steps / Trevi Fountain and lots of shopping. The breakfast is good and the rooms are fine with extremely comfortable beds and good bathrooms. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone and I would definitely stay there again. I am a travel agent in Whistler and have stayed at many hotels and i really cannot fault this property. The staff were so helpful and friendly. This is a great option for Rome.

If you want professional, well trained, and helpful staff this is the place.
This is not the big dramatic lobby hotel with huge spaces, it is a small very professionally run hotel with very nice rooms, breakfast areas, and bar. These are small rooms where you can meet other travelers almost like it is your own home with family. If you are expecting a big bustling hotel, this is not the place, if you are expecting privacy, quiet, and outstanding service this is the one. The rooms may face the street, but with the double pane windows you can't hear a thing. We were in a suite that was huge, some of the interior rooms looked a little small by American standards, but remember you are in a 200-300 year old building that's been retrofitted.
Great A/C, Haunsgophe faucets, body sprays in the shower(but it is one small shower!), and safe in the room. The door to the hotel you could almost miss it completely because it is right down a small road with not much traffic.
Many great restaurants right outside the door. A close walk to Spanish Steps, the Trevi fountain and plenty of shopping everywhere. It's a few blocks out of the way of the main crowds that you encounter in Rome which is good.

This was our first trip to Rome and the Barocco Hotel was the best choice! Our room was a little small but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was amazing. The service was outstanding and we felt as if we were truly welcome and pampered throughout our stay. We were greeted with fresh fruit and bottled water in our room. The manager left a hand-written thank you card and a bottle of wine in our room on the last day. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you everyone at the Barocco for making our first visit to Italy a pleasant one!

We just checked out today and headed to Tuscany. We loved Barocco Hotel! The bed was the most comfortable in Italy so far! The breakfast was great, I loved the green beans, the eggplant, the cheese selection, the fresh buffalo mozz. and the breakfast menu with made to order egg options was also great! There is also a bar on site which we enjoyed a couple glasses of Champagne at, 5 Euros each. There are plenty of restaurants that are open late night within close proximity, we went out for a midnight snack and found 6 or so places open still within a few feet of the hotel. There are also boutiques and souvenir shops on the same block.

The room was very small with barley enough room for luggage but the amenities made up for it. The shower was hot with great water pressure, the towels were nice, the small vanity area to the left of the sink was quite useful. However, there is no conditioner (which seems to be common in Europe). The best part of this hotel is the location of the rooms, its on a side street and it's pretty sound proof, I couldn't even tell I was sleeping in a big city.

The location couldn't have been any better. The hotel is in Barberini Square which is the Ballsilica (SP) line on the metro, orange/A, the stop is Barberini/Trevi Fountain. From the Termani it's only two stops and about a 3 minute walk to the hotel from the metro. We flew into Naples and took the high speed train into Rome, it was very easy to get to the hotel this way. There is also taxi stop just across the square in front of a larger hotel. There is also a bank across the square, the hours are short though, they close at 3:50PM. The front desk will exchange USD for Euros as well, but the bank had better rates.

San Paulo Basilica was an 11 Euro cab ride from the hotel, worth seeing (the tomb of the apostle). We also watched a Roma soccer/futbol game, the stadium was about 20 minutes via metro/tram.
