“Warmth and Charm in the Eternal City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 September 2013

We spent 3 nights at Barocco Hotel following a Mediterranean cruise. Our room was compact but comfortable, in muted tones with an abundance of stone, a canopy bed, and spacious bathroom. Though it faced Piazza Barberini, we never heard noise at night. Breakfast - an abundant buffet and eggs to order - was the best we have ever had in Europe. Location is great -- close to a metro stop, taxi stand, shops and restaurants; minutes from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. We appreciated the extra touches -- fresh fruit upon arrival,
flowers tucked into our robes, sweet treats and a handwritten note on our last evening. Staff
could not have been more accommodating or helpful. We were well taken care of, and would not hesitate to return to this charming boutique hotel in enchanting Rome.

We are very impressed with our experience at the Barocco Hotel. We arrived and were pleasantly surprised that we had been upgraded to a larger room in a more private location. Our room had a complementary fruit basket and fresh flowers waiting for us. The room was quite spacious and beautifully decorated. Picture plush carpeting, painted air work, extremely comfortable bed, adjustable air conditioning, huge bathroom, etc. For breakfast, you can choose items from the breakfast buffet or ask the server to have breakfast made fresh for you. The hotel is minutes away on foot from the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon and other sites. There is a taxi stand in the plaza just outside the hotel. Finally, the staff was extremely professional, helpful and courteous. I highly recommend staying at the Barocco Hotel while in Rome. We will be back!

My family of 7, 5 adults and 2 children ages 6 and 3 enjoyed a lovely stay at Hotel Barocco last month. First the transfer from Rome Airport to the hotels was perfect. The transfer agent booked by the hotel was on time, patient, very pleasant,English speaking and the cost was reasonable.
Our 2 junior suites were spacious, immaculately clean and extremely quiet. (soundproof windows are perfect..
The hotel is well located at Palazzo Barberini, central to walking out to many local tourists monuments and nearby restaurants..
All the staff at the hotel are English speaking, extremely pleasant and eager to assist you with making dinning recommendations, giving directions or offering assistance with anything else that you may require.

The breakfast included in the rate is excellent. It offers many options including eggs or omelets and it is served by very pleasant staff with lovely linens and china.
The lobby and bar are small but fit in very well with the hotel amenities.
The hotel is a small European type hotel, very well located, efficiently operated and is staffed by professionals who are very eager to please their guests.

I look forward to returning to Hotel Barocco and would definitely recommend it for singles, couples and families.

This is an excellent choice for staying in Rome. Location, just off the subway stop makes everything accessible. Close to lots of good sidewalk cafes. And staff is outstanding. Very helpful. Highly recommended. Also less than 10 EU cab ride from Termini. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is substantial and tasty. This is truly a 4 star hotel.

I think i've said it all! The whole trip was made even better by staying in such a wonderful hotel that has wonderful staff. We were lucky to have a room in the annex which is fantastic with your own entrance in a building up the street which has another three rooms only. It feels so nice to stay away from the main hotel nice and secret almost. we were greated by a fantatic room our room number was 10 fantastic fabrics, decoration. I emailed the hotel prior to arrival to arrange for two glasses of processco to surprise my husband they did better than that we had a whole bottle on ice and a lovely greeting card and it was for free! we had a great breakfast each morning plenty of choice I had the lovely yogurts and fruit my husband had the hot choices of eggs every morning which were made to order and just scrummy. The hotel is well placed with the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps not far and also surrounded by fantastic restaurants. This hotel is great and when we are lucky enough to get back to Rome this is the only place we shall ever stay its just simply perfect. When we got home we had a welcome home email. I have been all over the place, the little touches and the friendly staff really made our stay you have got to stay here.

Room Tip: Try and get a room in the annex it is lovely.

Our second experience of a hotel in Rome - and it was wonderful. Suite (upgrade from a Double) was spacious, with bathroom facilities modern and spotless (loved the multi-jet shower!), and excellent maid service. Breakfast was all we expected, but of special note was the lounge/bar - we had planned to go out for dinner on our first night, but after wonderful hot appetisers (freshly made by the bartender while we had our first drinks), we decided on club sandwiches - once again freshly made and delicious, while we had second drinks. Not a cheap stay, but thoroughly recommended

We stayed in the annex building. It was a little odd to get to our room through a building that had private residences, but it was very quiet and did not have the hotel feel. The room was great. The air conditioning was nice after a hot day on the streets, however it was a little week with the fan speed and could have been a few degrees cooler. There was an unusual smell at the entrance of our room, but thankfully we could only smell it when we were at the door. The stall was very helpful with tours and suggestions on the things to see. Breakfast was typical European, choice of eggs and buffet of select meats, cheeses and pastries. I would definitely stay here again. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance.
