In summary, this is a marvelous hotel with kind and efficient staff and within walking distance of Rome's great sites.
This hotel was recently renovated, and they has tastefully mixed old world ambience with modern style and convenience. Our room and bed were very comfortable and spacious by European standards.
We had asked for a quiet room. We had room #48 which was very quiet which is very important to me.
The staff were professional and friendly. They gave excellent advice on where to dine. In each case, they didn't send us to a "fancy" place, but the kind of restaurant that they would enjoy as inhabitants of Rome. One particular restaurant recommendation "Meridionale" made for a delightful evening.
The hotel is an easy walk to Trevi Fountain, Forum, Coliseum, Pantheon, and to the Vatican City. If you wish to go further, there is a taxi queue less than 50 meters from the hotel.
The entrance to the hotel is about 5 meters down away from via del Tritone on small stone paved street (via della Purificatione). Via del Tritone abuts the Piazza Barberini.
The breakfast is delicious and the decor is pleasant. The staff at breakfast are charming.
I will certainly stay at Hotel Barocco the next time I visit Rome.More
