A perfect base from which to see all the delights Rome has to offer. The hotel is on a quiet side street off the Piazza Barbarini. It has been recently and lavishly refurbished and is a peaceful and comfortable sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Rome. Our arrival in Rome began with a disaster, turning up at the wrong hotel and arguing with a rather insistent Italian lady that I had a reservation. On discovering my mistake she telephoned the Barocco who immediately sent over two staff members to escort us and our luggage to the correct hotel.
Our room was ready as soon as we had registered (12.30 pm) and although small by some standards was beautifully furnished with a lovely marble en suite bath/showerroom. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in.
Breakfast was excellent and was a mixture of a wide choice of buffet items and waitress served eggs and hot drinks. The ambience in the breakfast room was particularly relaxing.
The location was brilliant for all the major attractions and as long as you are reasonably fit you can walk everywhere. Trevi fountain 6mins, Spanish steps 6mins, Pantheon 15 mins, Colloseum and forum 40 mins, Vatican 60mins.
We would definitely stay again.

A well run place with interesting rooms and a lovely breakfast service. The staff was helpful and attentive.

The location is terrific! Good walks can be planned from the hotel and there are several charmning places to eat very close by. Best of all was sitting on our small but so quiet and comfy patio!

It was our pleasure!

This hotel was everything we hoped it would be! The location is perferct - walking distance to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The rooms were very clean, well appointed and comfortable (we were a couple with a 12 year old). The breakfasts were exceptional with fresh eggs, pastry, fresh fruit and a complement of Italian meats and cheeses. The breakfast servers were very social, sincere and accommodating. The front desk staff were excellent as well. They made all our dinner reservations in advance for us. They also reserved a driver to and from the airport for a fee that was just a few Euro more than a standard taxi. Great service!

My only small (and i mean small) criticism would be that the wi-fi required you to re-input user name and password (a random code series not easily memorized) quite frequently. The connection was great - the frequent login was a bit annoying. With that said, i would not let this stand in the way of booking this exceptional hotel!

Great location and professional friendly staff. From the moment I booked the hotel and rang them to get flowers in the room(for our honeymoon), nothing was too much trouble. Upon arrival the staff manage to get ourselves check in early which was a great help. The reception staff were more than happy to provide us with all the necessary maps and advice to help make our first trip to Rome an unforgettable experience. They were very friendly and offered accurate recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. I would like to make a personnel thanks to one of the reception staff for noticing I was wearing shorts for my trip to the Vatican city who chased me down the street and advised me it would be best to change to trousers to avoid disappointment. The breakfast was a good continental breakfast in a cosy environment and provided a wide spread of choices. The Room was suitable sized continental room with lovely décor and the bathroom was very well presented with marble finishes. We were very impress with the nice little extra personnel touches, like flowers on the bathrobes and fresh fruit in the room. We got an English, basic news letter under our door and hand written personal notes just with little thank you sweets. We would definitely recommend this hotel and found it the perfect destination for our honeymoon.

After a bad experience taking a taxi from the train station, it was a relief to arrive at this beautiful hotel. The staff are professional and helpful. The room quality was excellent, the breakfast a sumptuous feast, and the location was perfect for accessing sites both on foot and via metro. I would be happy to return to the Barocco Hotel if I visit Rome again.
