“Excellent location and hotel”
Reviewed 21 May 2014 via mobile

The location of the hotel was excellent for touring Rome, we were able to walk or catch the Metro everywhere. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing. The only small negative was the size of the bedroom but we did have a very comfortable king size bed and the bathroom was a good size. I would definitely recommend

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for four nights this month. We found the staff and the location to be superb. The hotel is a short walk to spanish steps trevi fountain and the corso for shopping. Excellent choice of restaurants close by. Definetly would stay there again. Rooms are a bit small but nicely appointed. Great boutique hotel. Tony and Lynn syracuse ny

It's all the extra touches that makes this hotel such a treat. Upon arrival you are personally escorted to your room, luggage to follow delivered by porter. Robes and a flower waiting on the beds, we had a premium double room and the beds were so comfortable, I slept soundly. There was a bowl of fruit in the room compliments of the hotel with lots of variety. The shower was great with a huge shower head, best shower! Great location, a short taxi ride from the main train station, fare was around 10 euro. Right across the road is a hop on hop off tour bus stop and several metro stations and bus stops are right around the corner, lots of cafés and restaurants and shops nearby. Walking distance to the trevi fountain and the Spanish steps. An excellent location for sightseeing. The hotel does an amazing breakfast with a fantastic variety and you can order eggs or Omelets made to order and there is a huge buffet selection to help yourself to also with fruits, cereals, yoghurt, meats, cheeses, pastries etc etc, There is a very nice bar at the hotel for that late night drink or afternoon cuppa. The staff are all excellent, very friendly and helpful. It was my birthday whilst We were there and to my delight and surprise they delivered a banana and chocolate cupcake with a candle on it to my breakfast table! What a lovely thoughtful thing to do and as if that wasn't enough, when we returned to our room later that night a bottle of champagne and some sweets were waiting for me with a lovely note from the manager. Would definitely recommend this hotel for travelers, we had such a lovely stay.

This is a great little hotel in the middle of Rome, looking down on a fountain by Bernini. The windows are double paned so we slept very soundly at night on a very comfortable bed. The room is small, but the rooms in Europe are usually about that size. All bathroom towels and necessities are replaced every day. The location is perfect with an ATM machine one minute away. The staff are very friendly, and anxious to help with anything you need. There is a large selection for breakfast, and the service is good and fast.

This is a very nice hotel located on Piazza Barberini in central Rome. Excellent location; walking distance to many of the major attractions. The room was average-sized by European standards, and had adequate A/C. As others have noted, the wi-fi service is intermittent. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and you also had the option of eggs cooked to order. Service was very good.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at the end of our Italy trip for our 10th anniversary. As others have said, the rooms are lovely. The view onto the Piazza is terriffic and don't worry about noise - with two sets of sound proof windows, once we closed them we heard absolutely nothing. The bed was very comfortable (we had a king in Europe!). The room was spotless and charming. The bathroom was modern and very comfortable. Yes, it would be nice to have conditioner, but we were in 6 hotels in Italy and none had it, so best to pack a small bottle when you travel.

The breakfast, as everyone has said is truly outstanding. But I think what makes this hotel so lovely, besides how charming it is, are the staff. Every single person was willing, cheerful and helpful. We had drinks both nights in the lounge where a very kind gentleman chatted with us, gave us peanuts and chips with our drinks for free and was just a pleasure. At the front desk, we had fabulous recommendations for dinner both nights. The first night was a local restaurant frequented by Romans with fabulous food and great prices. The second night was more upscale, 4 courses included for an extremely reasonable price including wine. They did not miss the mark. Plus every interaction with them was helpful and pleasant.

When we arrived in our room there was a large fruit plate plus bottled water and the night before we left, a beautiful plate of desserts. Every single touch was addressed.

Thank you, Hotel Barocco. I have already recommended you to many friends.

Loved this hotel. Can't speak to the annex since I stayed in main hotel. It's all about service here. Small hotel with large staff that go beyond the norm to ensure you enjoy your stay. As others have said--great location, very comfortable beds, impressive breakfast, modern bathrooms. Plus all the little extras that make you feel welcome--early arrival was no problem they stored our luggage and gave us maps and recommended restaurants; fruit basket upon arrival; bottle of wine after 3rd day; yummy beautiful cookies the night before check-out. I will stay again and highly recommend this hotel to others.
