“Good boutique hotel”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

We booked three nights at this hotel.

We decided to walk to the hotel from the station and it was about 15 mins. We arrived and I couldn't see the hotel front clearly. The pharmacy across the road pointed it out and it didn't look great from the front. We touched the buzzer at the front and it turned out the door was an emergency exit which was a little embarrassing.

We went inside and it was very smart and the check in was simple. The people were pleasant and helpful.

The bedroom was small with high ceilings and on the side of the hotel. The bathroom was big and clean with both a shower and bath. The bed was too soft for my other half who has a temperamental back. There wasn't any noise except the occasional siren.

The breakfast was a bit hit and miss. The first morning the service wasn't fantastic and I asked for toast and got one slice of blackened toast. The next two mornings were better.

This was a good hotel in all but given how much you pay I thought it was very expensive given the facilities available.

The location couldn't have been better and we walked round to most of the main attractions. Don't book tickets through the hotel as we got lots of better deals from buying from the actual bus tours etc.

Just back from a four day stay with family at Hotel Barocco. The three deluxe rooms we had were all comfortable and luxurious - although one was a little small.

The exceptional feature of the hotel is the service. Every member of staff we met was charming and helpful. Restaurant and taxi reservations etc were done quickly with a smile and 3 recommended restaurants were all good.

The breakfast service was exceptional for a small hotel with an excellent choice of good quality items - and hot options like eggs and bacon quickly cooked to order.

When leaving some hotels, you climb into your taxi with a sigh of relief. With others, you look over your shoulder and think "I hope I can come back one day". Hotel Barocco is definitely one of the latter.

Room Tip: Room 42 was a little small and dark - but compensated with a small outside terrace area.

I first was looking for the "right room", next was location and finally something on the smaller size. Hotel Barocco was and idea fit for us. Our room was a junior suite, pay up for room 39, it is worth it, the patio overlooking the Barberdini Fountain was perfect. Great for a glass of wine and watching the world go by! The coziness of the place was evident from the moment we checked in, nice polite freindly staff in a warm setting. All of the staff were very helpful with any questions or concerns, housekeeping also did a nice job over our 3 nights. The breakfast buffet can hardly be called a buffet, think just about anything you want and you can get it. :) We too found the location ideal, yes we did the jump on jump off bus right accross the plaza as soon as we got there to get the lay of the land. After that we realized we were right in the middle of all the wonderful things in Rome. If you take room 39 and are looking for that wine, meat , cheese and bread store - look no further than Magnifico Eat, just around the corner to the right. The very sweet woman in there took care of us on two separate stops and she deserves a shout out. Overall I don't know what else I could have asked for from a hotel in Rome.

Room Tip: Junior Suite number 39 was top notch.

This hotel is a real gem of a place. Really friendly & helpful staff sets the place out as special, nothing too much trouble.
Fantastic buffet breakfast, comfy beds, spotlessly clean & above all in Rome quiet. Would definitely stay here again, great hotel!

We wanted a place close to the Spanish Steps and found this boutique hotel. It was previously high rated by others and so I gave it a try. It was important to us as we were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. I will say we had some wonderful stays over many cities in Italy, but the customer service at this hotel was exceptional. They recognized our Anniversary by upgrading our room and giving us Champagne and fruit, were very accommodating in many different questions we had about directions, things to do, etc. They even went out of their way to send us up some breakfast the morning we had to leave before Breakfast buffet opened. In addition, their Breakfast was the best we had across our other city stays. All in all this was a wonderful hotel, very clean, with excellent service. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We got a superior room and it was really nice and of good size relative to other places we stayed ac...

Within a short walk to Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps, and an easy walking distance to the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Piazza Navano and most of the main attractions in Roma, Barocco is a really friendly little hotel with nicely appointed rooms, super breakfasts , and for a change a hotel bathroom with a shower that you don't have to run around in to get wet!

Also situated next to the Barberini metro station, only 4 stops fro the Vatican, and with an open top bus tour stop just off the square. Loads of nice restaurant within a stones throw.

Thoroughly recommended

Room Tip: not a hotel with views, so no real preference. Everywhere quiet

The room was pretty and comfortable, fruit platter was a lovely surprise. The location of the hotel is ideal for nearly all the attractions except for the Vatican City but again this was only four metro stops away and the underground is literally around the corner. Staff was welcoming and full of good recommendations and remembered my husband's birthday and surprised him with a delicious cupcake at breakfast! Also on our last night a plate of cookies was provided which was a lovely touch.
