“A nice Hilton Garden Inn in Rome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014

Very friendly and accommodating reception staff. Outstanding breakfast. Large airy sleeping room with wall mirrors and balcony. Close to 2 bus lines (360 from Termini bus area west of the train station to Liegi Ungheria in 10 stops to get to the hotel and 52 that passes near the Trevi Fountain) and 2 tram lines (3 to Coliseum and 19 to the Vatican). The staff provide a detailed information sheet about how to find the stops. Roma Pass that includes public transportation for 3 days cuts costs since a taxi from Termini to the hotel would cost about €15; watch out for the taxi scams (out of town rate, circuitous route, switching a €20 note for a €5 note and asking for more money, etc.). Taverna Rossi across the street is always filled with locals for reasonably priced and tasty meals including pizza.

A typical Hilton Garden Inn; Dependable as always. Clean and comfortable rooms, Friendly and accommodating service. Close to some GREAT restaurants and the transportation system. Excellent Fitness center compared too many other Hilton Garden Inns.

Having just got back from our stay here - I felt compelled to write a review about this hotel. First of all the reception staff (especially Mary) were very friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves were of a decent size, good facilities but the only real problem that prevented this being a 5 star review was the lack of air conditioning as the rooms became pretty hot. It wasn't a major problem, however it would have been nice to have had the option to switch it on.

The hotel itself is modern and clean, the breakfast is of a good standard with a decent variety. For us it's location was great - away from the hustle and bustle of Rome in a pleasant, safe area but easily accessible to the Vatican and Colosseum by tram and central areas (shopping and the Spanish Steps) by bus - all very cheaply €1.5 for a 100 minute ticket which easily gets you anywhere one way.

Have to mention Taverna Rossini - as most of the reviews say it is a great place to go for a meal and so close by to the Hotel. Very friendly and very reasonably priced. It gets busy so best to get there before 8pm to get a table.

We would definitely come back to this hotel when we visit Rome again.

Just returned from 4 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Claridge in Rome. The rooms are nice especially by European standards and ours even had a balcony. Though a bit away from the city center is close to bus and tram stops. With the Roma Pass, it becomes a great option and is only a short distance from the Borghese Gallery and one of the catacombs. It is about 15-20 minutes by bus or tram to the Coliseum and the Vatican. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are ready to help in anyway possible and their English is excellent. I would defiantly stay here again especially if I had Hilton points.

Room Tip: There is a great restaurant just around the corner called Rossini. Fantastic pizza and other dishes...

This hotel is just adequate. We found the hot water to be scarce as is getting ice although Europe is notorious for the difficulty of getting ice for any drink. The hotel was not central to very much. Our room was barely adequate. There was not enough bare floor area to put our luggage on the floor and no racks were provided. We had to block the door to the bathroom to have a place to put our luggage.
The air conditioning was totally inadequate and failed to keep the room even modestly cool. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel unless you have not other options--but Rome is full of options. You can do better.

Stayed for 6 nights for business meetings at the Hilton Garden Inn. The location was great and allowed for late night meals & easy access to transport into the heart of Rome. The staff at the hotel was very nice and accommodating, especially the bar & desk staff. The breakfast was wonderful and expresso at the bar was awesome! The rooms are a bit small for the price, and also a bit warm. I would suggest asking for a room without the morning sun. Kept my balcony door open most of the time. But really that is the only complaint about the hotel. Would stay here again.

We used this hotel via Hilton Honors so I am not commenting on value for money. The hotel is well located, NE of the centre, a 30 minute walk or 15 tram / bus ride to the main attractions. Staff were professional and responded quickly to an email enquiry before arrival. No restaurant but breakfast available. Nothing exciting and little local flavour but clean, safe and a good base to explore from!

Dear Andrew O,
Many thanks for your kind review.
Please allow me to clarify for our bloggers that the centre of town, Via Veneto, is at 15 mins walking distance while the tram n. 15 stop is just across the street and takes to Vatican City in about 20 minutes.
Thank you.
Hoping there will be soon another occasion to see you.
Best regards.
