“Staff is Very Accommodating to Americans. (Thankfully)”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

My wife and I were originally going to stay at the Hilton Family Property Waldorf Astoria in Rome. We decided the week before to keep our reservation at the Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge instead and cancel the other. We saved a lot of money by doing this and received the same class of service from the front desk staff.

They make the properly what it is!!!

They set up airport transfers for us from FCO before we ever arrived in Rome. You can do this by simply sending and email to them. Our driver from the airport met us after clearing customs and was professional, on time and would not hesitate using them again. I would highly recommend using this car service when you arrive in Rome. It can be very overwhelming and the last thing you need to worry about is finding a ride or figuring out how to use the train. Spend the 55 Euros and use the transfer company to bring you directly to the hotel. Plus if your impatient like me, Its by far the fastest and simplest way to get to the hotel. Book it. You will thank me later.

Upon arriving at the hotel, which we were early for check in, they advised it would be 45 minutes until our room was ready. Which was still 4 hours early. After 45 minutes our room was ready. Imagine that. Impressive and way early!!! Thank you!

Room was very nice, bed was very comfortable, view not so great but who cares your not there for the views from the hotel room, breakfast was awesome in so many ways, bathroom was very nice and clean! Shower was hot. Front desk staff were younger and very helpful. They will answer any question you have and will help you get to where your going. Its either the #3 Tram going one way or the #19 tram the other way, or a short walk to the bus stop for number #52 which will take you to Bernini Metro Stop etc. Make sure you eat at Taverna Rossini around the corner. We ate there two nights which isn't something we typically do. Very nice food, service and they tolerate Americans.

Do yourself a favor and book this hotel. The last thing you need to worry about is lodging in Rome. I spent hours trying to figure out which and where to stay in Rome. If I would have read a review like this one it would have saved me a bunch of time and worry.

In closing, what you will find in Italy are people and businesses that are either tolerant of Americans and our very unique un-European style or not. The Hilton Garden Inn and Taverna Rossin Restaurant are two places that tolerate us Americans. Trust me on this, I spent an hour watching the front desk staff field questions from us Americans one morning. They are very patient and tolerant and speak English just fine.

Book the room and figure out what your going to do in Rome instead of wondering where you should stay. Again, you can thank me later.

If you want to find out a bout a hotel that surprisingly isn't tolerant of Americans in Italy, you can read my next review about the Hilton Molino Stucky in Venice. Yikes!

Enjoy your stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge. Gratzie! Arrivederci! Ciao!

Room Tip: If possible, request a room away from the front of the property.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It is very updated. The breakfast had a huge variety of foods to choose from. The location is outside of the busy city central but easy to get every where with a bus stop right outside the door. The staff was great at helping us find our way around. I would stay here again if visiting Rome.

Room Tip: I had booked 4 rooms for a large family trip and all the rooms were nice.

Spent 2 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Claridge Rome on May 11 & 12 2014. The hotel is in a residential area which I found very relaxing. The room was a good size and very clean. I found the staff pleasant and helpful. The breakfast had many choices and was well stocked. Over all a great place to stay

I booked this hotel for a work trip, but on which I had a day spare to view the city. The hotel is smart, a good standard, what you'd expect for this price and the Hilton name. The service however from the initial booking was poor. Our reservation got confused ending up with us having to change room twice, and wait for our final room to be made up, and they also made it very difficult to reserve a car parking space, despite offering the service on the main website. Its also a fair walk to the center, and unlike other Cities I've visited, there nothing en route, no shops, cafes, just the financial buildings. Bit too far out for tourism I feel, but good access to roads in and out which I needed.

Located in the north of the city, in a quiet residential neighbourhood, about 6 stops on the #3 and #19 Tram from Policlinico where you can get the Metro B line. Continental in design, the superior rooms are more close tothe thee U.S. standard sized room, very well appointed, excellent and helfpul staff, good breakfast buffet and convenient to a group of restaraunts around the circle this is a nice place to stay out of the way! You are outside the old walls so taxi from Fiumicino is a little more, but cabbing in the city is going to run from 10-25 euros, otherwise get the three day ROMA pass at the Tabachii around the corner, includes access to the site s and tram and metro!

Wanted a convenient hotel outside of central Rome. Easily used convenient trams and buses with guidance from helpful hotel staff. We enjoyed a great visit to Rome and a real daily life experience in a safe local neighborhood near the Villa Borghese.

This property is about 25 minutes outside of central Rome, but the tram stop is in front of the property and bus stops are nearby. The hotel provides great maps/detailed print outs on catching public transport to major sites and central Rome.

The rooms are small, but updated/new and very clean. There is a mini fridge in the room and grocery store across the street.

The concierge was not very helpful in providing restaurant suggestions. However, I would recommend this property to others and stay here again. Overall, my expectations were met.
