“Lies on website, ignorant staff”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2013

One of my biggest disappointment of any hotels booked thru internet. The hotel's web site says "spacious, luxurious rooms", minibar (what you would anyway expect from a 4 star hotel in Europe!) and free wifi. The truth is that our room was not bigger than 12 sq metres (129 sq ft), there was no any minibar at all in the room (not even a bottle of water, which is really annoying returning from a whole day city walk in Rome, or in the middle of the night) and however there was a wifi in the hotel but our room (as well as our friends's) was out of its signal reception area. At check in the reception already admitted that the rooms we get are bad and they going to change next day (it never happened, and anyway, you dont want to move after one night when you only come for two nights). About the wifi they promised that they will fix it (never happened), When I complained on the first evening because of the size asd the absance of the minibar the receptionist answer was only "relax Sir, there are much bigger problems (in the World)". Next day her boss was not less ignorant either: "I am sorry you don't like it. You are true that it is small but nice and modernized." And of course nothing happened at all! I would never ever go back to this hotel despite the nice view from the rooftop terrace and the restaurant. (on one evening we ordered a drink on the terrace. Nothing happened for about 15 mins. Than a light rain (some drops) started and they said that they would not serve when raining. Look for another hotel! there are plenty in Rome!

Our hotel is situated in front of the Roman Fora and the rooms, in the most beautiful area of the antic Rome, are not as large as in a modern hotel.
The WiFi usually works well and we don't understand why it didn't during your stay.
We are really surprised that our staff didn't care to your requests as they are always available and nice regarding the guests wishes.
The American Bar in the Rooftop can't serve the guests outside when it's raining and in this case it is transfered in the lobby.

I stayed for 3 nights as a solo traveller. My room on the second floor was a good size with lovely large bathroom. The staff were very friendly, I was always greeted with a smile when coming back in from sight seeing. I discovered the hotel worked on a different electricity supply to other hotels I had stayed at in Rome, so my adaptor didn't work, but a very kind gentleman on Reception managed to find a couple to lend me to save buying one.

I was directly opposite the Irish bar over the road, but had no issues with noise (just the usual level you would expect from a busy city). My only complaint would be the noise levels from the other guests and housekeeping staff. Housekeeping seemed to start very early in the morning and would call down the corridor to each other and they woke me up every morning I was there. I didn't plan on sleeping in late (to much to see) so didn't put out the do not disturb sign first night, then was taken by surprise when housekeeping came in before 8.30am. I didn't expect them at that time as this is when people would be getting ready, having showers etc. and wouldn't want to be disturbed so had to make sure I put the sign out for other mornings.

I didn't eat on the restaurant, but I did go up to enjoy the view (which is amazing).

I would definitely stay here again

We really thank you for having appreciated our hotel and we are happy to read that you will come back.
We have informed the housekeeper about the noises of the staff and she has assured that this will not happen again.
Very best regards.

We stayed 6 nights. The location is ideal. From our room we overlooked the Forum and could see the Colisseum. Short walk to Colisseum where 'On off buses' stopped. Short walk to Piazza Venezia and Capitoline. Up hill from hotel 10 minutes to Trevi fountain.
Hotel traditional style, clean, comfortable. Roof tterrace dining a plus. Breakfast fine, but we only ate dinner one night due to high prices. ( Go 200yds up hill and try Mario's restaurant for lunch or evening meal - Italian home cooking. It over looks the Fori Imperiali.)

Room Tip: 4th floor above street level noise fantastic views.

We stayed at Forum for 5 days in a very small room with a tiny bathroom. It was rather noisy at nights because of a Bar outside opposite the hotel so we had to keep the windows closed. I would only recommend this hotel for its great location near coliseum and many other attractions but the staff were not as friendly as people had mentioned in Tripadvisor, too snub at times, not even a greeting. It was also very expensive to eat there. Breakfast was included but we had to keep asking them to fill up the empty bread baskets , sausage & bacon tray and fresh orange basket which should've been done in advance. The view was amazing though! we had a great time in Rome but unfortunately I give this hotel a 3 star and wouldn't book it again!

Our hotel is situated in an old antic building and the rooms are not as big as the ones you can find in a modern hotel.
Our entire staff, either at the reception and at the restaurant is always very attentiv to every requests of the guests.
We are glad that you have appreciated the marvellous position and the view from the hotel.

This hotel is comfortable and ideally located being just 5 mins from the Forum and Colosseum. It has wondeful views and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts are inclusive and fine for vegetarians with plenty of choice. I would definitely stay here again. Incredibly expensive for meals otherwise so eat out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Forum

A wonderful five days in Rome, enhanced by staying at the Hotel Forum. Comfortable (and perfectly clean) room, ever helpful and welcoming staff, wide range of choices for breakfast. The view from the restaurant (and indeed our room - 406) is everything the website shows - and more; what a way to start the day, watching the 'centurions' parading and posing outside the Forum! Shutters kept the traffic noise at bay at night. But above all, praise for the member of staff (in his smart white and gold uniform) who was so very kind when our car was late on the last day to take us to the airport. He not only made persistent phone calls but was also so concerned and caring when I got agitated as the time dragged on. Highly recommended (unless of course you want shiny modern characterless surroundings and absolute silence at night). We hope to return!

Room Tip: Floor 4 for the views

We stayed in Room 401 from the 17th to 20th of September for 3 nights. The hotel is very Roman in style with attentive staff and lovely decor. Our room was fantastic; we booked a Deluxe room with a view and what a view it was, straight onto the Forum.
The room itself was large, clean and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was a reasonable size with basic amenities as expected from a city centre hotel.
Breakfast served in the 5th floor Restaurant. This included a great selection of cold cuts, breads, cheeses, cakes and a cooked option for those wanting something more substantial. The views are absolutely stunning. However, the views were not nearly as sensational as those from the roof top bar. We had drinks in the bar every night! Breathtaking is the only way to describe the bar with amazing service from the barman. He made us feel very welcome and it was a joy to return to the bar before and after trips out for dinner.
We would highly recommend a stay in this hotel with its amazing views and excellent location.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a room with a view and don't forget drinkies in the bar!
