“Ideal location. Beautiful Views from Resturant”
Reviewed 25 March 2014 via mobile

We stayed here with some friends while we did the Rome Marathon. The staff are a real asset to this hotel. The location is fantastic, right on the Forum and 2 minutes from the Coliseum. The rooms are small but perfectly good. There is WiFi in the rooms too. Would stay here again

We stayed for 5 nights courtesy of a Groupon deal at £360 in breakfast. Staff and service was very friendly and obliging, we followed restaurant recommendations and these were very good indeed. This was the ideal type of hotel for us as we do not like being waited on hand and foot which usually comes with the feeling of being watched all the time, the service was polite and reserved but they were always there to help when needed.
Value for us was exceptional but we were looking for a good deal, which this was, for us the full room rate would have been beyond our budget but this does not mean it would not be good value.
Despite being at the front of the hotel the windows were extremely effective in keeping noise out. We did have the window open most nights and there was quite a lot of noise but this is what I was expecting with a city centre hotel, if you wish tranquillity then you stay 10miles out.
Room was spotless albeit they are "city size rooms but again exactly what I was expecting for a city hotel squeezed into a medieval convent. Decor throughout was very traditional and kept to a very high standard. Things like travel adaptors were available free from reception.
Our daily breakfast in the rooftop restaurant was high quality with a very good choice of hot and cold, the pastries were to die for. The hotel location is second to none and we will long remember sipping coffee whilst looking out directly onto the Forum and Panatine Hill. We did not have dinner in the restaurant as the price was easily 3 times that of other restaurants in the locality and we actually prefer walking out to sample the local Trattorias of which there are many.
The hotel was not bristling with additional features but for us this was certainly not what we were looking for and I suspect most others would be the same in that after an exhausting day sightseeing a good shower and a comfy bed would be highest on the list.
A great break, we really could not have hoped for better. Thank you Hotel Forum, we will undoubtedly struggle to find better.

Room Tip: If you are fussy speak to the hotel directly, they are most obliging and will try their best I am su...

Stayed for 4 nights in mid February. My party occupied 2 rooms at opposite ends of the same floor. Wifi was not working in both rooms despite repeated reports to the front desk. Wifi could only be accessed from the hotel lobby or rooftop restaurant. Except for one concierge staff, the rest of the front desk staff were indifferent and impersonal. The hotel ambience was old world Europe though it felt like the drapes and upholstery could use some vacuuming due to a moldy smell. Good location.

The hotel is well located within walking distance of all the major attractions of Rome. The service is okay and rooms are alright. The terrace restaurant has a beautiful view overlooking the ancient Roman Forum (and hence the hotel's name). The room which I had overlooking the street was quite small and extremely susceptible to the street noises. I was woken up by a street brawl at 2 am and found it difficult to sleep thereafter. Based on the size of my room, I do not recommend the hotel for families.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on higher floors and with room numbers X15 and above on each floor. It seems those ar...

Dear Sir,
We thank you for your comment. The hotel is situated in the very heart of Rome and the noises of a big city is inevitable. We have double glasses that are usually very effective but to avoid any kind of noise we can give internal rooms if the guest requires.
We inform that we do have family rooms that are 2 connecting rooms adapted to families.

We stayed here for 1 night only on our way home after a visit through Italy. It was a really wonderful hotel with tons of charm and a beautiful rooftop restaurant which is covered and heated in the winter. The views from the restaurant are unbelievable, overlooking the forum ruins. It is a 5 minute walk to the colliseum and a million fabulous restaurants so it was a perfect place to stay. The breakfast buffet was really good...the only one during our tour through Italy with bacon and scambled eggs!! We were given welcome drinks of prosecco our first night and our room was fantastic. We had a two room, 2 bathroom suite so we could let the kids have their own space and own tv. I only wish we could have stayed longer....we didn't have time to visit the gorgeous little bar on the first first floor that looked like it was straight out of a movie. Next time we will stay longer....and it is likely we could walk and see most things in Rome from this great spot!! Highly recommend!!!

Room Tip: If you need extra space, ask for rooms 218/219 which adjoin behind a single door and are connected b...

The hotel is comfortable and could not be located in a better place for most of the attractions in Rome. We booked a Superior Double and we were a little surprised at the size as it was a bit on the small side but as you don't spend much time in it we didn't mind too much. Bed was comfortable, over bath shower was ok, room was too hot so we turned off the heating.

The staff are excellent and could not do enough for you.

Be aware that they advertise parking but there is a charge!

Room Tip: Superior double was smaller than expected so I would go up a standard if you need room.

Dear Sir,
We are happy to read that you enjoyed the Hotel Forum.
Regarding the rooms, the hotel is a building of the 18th century and it was a convent and all the rooms have different size.
Our staff is always happy to help the guests for any request.
Hope to see you back!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Forum. Approximately a 30 minute taxi ride from the Airport located at the Roman Forum. The welcome from the reception staff was very friendly and we were escorted to our superior room on the 4th floor. Our room view overlooked the Roman Forum so we were very pleased with our room. All the main attractions are within walking distance, Colosseum is a 5-10 minute walk away, Pantheon a 15 minute walk, Trevi Fountain a 20 minute walk and the Spanish Steps approx 30 minutes. We even walked to the Vatican but we think we took the scenic look!!! Breakfast is on the rooftop restaurant with an excellent view over Rome. The choice of food was good with hot scrambled egg, bacon, cheese, cold meat, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cakes etc....The restaurant staff were always very friendly and helpful. Overall an excellent stay at this 4 star hotel and would recommend it to anyone who fancies a break in Rome.
