At the foot of the vittorio emanuele and obviously adjacent to the Forum is this little boutique hotel. I stayed at this hotel nine years prior to this stay and I was alone in a tiny (seriously tiny) twin bed room. I liked the stay then and I sort of enjoyed it this time around. Nine years and I am seriously technologically dependent. and the wifi in this hotel is for some rooms non-existent, that is what all those folks are camped out in the common area are doing, connecting. I tried to overlook that but wow! we tried relying on the hotel to book tickets to the opera, that was a bust and we were given misinformation about the event. Thankfully, although our stay was five days we did not spend too much time in the hotel. I give it three stars because it needs updates that have been seriously overlooked. The air quality is substandard. Although there is a thermostat on the wall it controls nothing. There is plumbing issues as you would expect in this old of a city in this old of a hotel. The place has charm. When I called to complain about the overhead noise the night before coming from the restaurant on the roof (totally worth going to) the concierge seriously hung up the phone. To the credit of the hotel our room was moved. The first room we were put in was also two twins despite asking for a double for a couple. The second bed we were given was like sleeping on steel or boards but the hotel was booked so we could not switch the room again. I think a lot of sacrifices are made that are unnecessary for the price. The location is okay but I think there are other locations that may even provide better options for community such as Trastevere. I actually like the location of the Forum but with all the other issues I don't think I will return unless I am just enjoying the rooftop restaurant.

Room Tip: A few rooms do have access to the wifi but it is very iffy

There has been a failure out of our contol during your stay and the company Telecom has now solved it.
During your stay, the WiFi was working partially and unfortunatlelly it was not working in your room but it was working in the lobby. We apologize for the inconvenience and if you decide to come back at the Hotel Forum we will give you a very beautiful to show you that not all the rooms are small and with few light.

Recently stayed at the Forum hotel using the Groupon voucher scheme. This hotel is very authentic - making you feel you really were in Rome rather than a bland chain hotel. Room was very clean with a view onto the cobble stoned front. Fully air-coned. Breakfast on the roof terrace was a fabulous way to wake up to Rome with views across the entire city - absolutely breathtaking. Staff were friendly and attentive.
My only criticism would be the price of the alcohol on the terrace - €15 for a glass of wine was way too expensive. Altho we received a free welcome glass of bubbles, I think if the wine was cheaper we would have stayed longer and would have spent more than the €15 pp.
Would definitely recommend a stay at the hotel if you find yourself in Rome. The hotel looks across the Roman Forum and the Colloseum is just a short walk away. Close to the metro link too.

We thank you for your kind review and we are sorry that you didn't stay longer at the American Bar but our rates are in line with the bars of this category.
Very best regards.

The best thing about this hotel is it's proximity to all the main sights. You can see the Collossuem, The Roman Forum and Il Vitorriano from the roof terrace and all the main sights are within easy walking distant ( Trevi Fountain 5 mins, the Vatican 30 mins).

Our rooms were located in an annex which required us to go up to the second floor, along the corridor and then down in another lift to the first floor but this was no great problem.

The rooms were nicely furnished in the traditional style of the hotel. Ours was a bit dark as it looked out onto an internal courtyard however it was very quiet at night. Our grown up children's room was much bigger and lighter but a bit noisy due to the fact it overlooked the street. The air conditioning could have been better but we coped. Wi-if was a bit patchy in the rooms but if you went down to the reception area it was fine.

Breakfast was very nice - assorted fresh and tinned fruits, cooked items, cold meats and cheeses, bread, cake , juice etc. plenty of choice and with a view to die for !

The staff were pleasant - not overly friendly but helpful when approached.

I would happily stay here again simply for the location - to be able to walk everywhere was a really great.

Great location for all the sites. Definitely not four star. Room small and below average for what was charged by Citalia. We stayed B/B. Breakfast was fair. Staff pleasant enough.
Would not go back!
Not good value for the money paid.

The staff at Hotel Forum are super friendly, and all speak perfect English. Upon checking in, you get a card for a free drink in their bar on the top floor which has an awesome view. The hotel is only a block away from the colosseum, and there are ruins right in front. There are so many things to see in the vicinity. So glad we happened to pick this one! The only reason I didn't give it 5stars was because the bed was very hard, and we had some trouble sleeping
If you happen to travel with a baby, they don't charge you at all to put a crib in the bedroom. That was a very nice deal.
