Stayed at this hotel for four night break perfect location, across from the Forum and in easy walking distance to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon etc.
Lovely view from the restaurant and the American Bar. (bar expensive but
worth a visit for the view)
Booked a single room but was given a small double overlooking the Forum,
a lovely surprise!
Problem with the television was solved quickly, staff friendly, in all a great place to stay.
I look forward to my next visit to Rome and my stay will definitely be at this hotel

We stayed at the Hotel Forum for five nights on our first visit to Rome. The hotel is traditional and charming (some might say old fashioned) but we loved the character of the hotel and its courteous service. We chose a room at the back of the hotel as it was quieter than the rooms overlooking the Forum. The room was traditionally furnished and very comfortable. It was possible to walk to many of the main Rome attractions within 30 minutes and many of them nearer. We ate in the roof top restaurant two nights and had a wonderful anniversary dinner there. There are stunning views from the rooftop restaurant - both day and evening when everything is lit up. This hotel is a real gem and as charming as Rome itself.

Took my son to Rome for a four day break to immerse ourselves in Ancient Rome and chose the Hotel Forum due to its location but we struck a gem. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel has old-world charm. Rooms were a little small compared to US hotels (rooms 403 and 404) but they were comfortable, clean and in the case of our rooms had fantastic views over the Forum of Nerva. Looking at the plan for the floor on the fire plan ours were two of the smaller rooms.

The hotel's rooftop bar is a little expensive even for Rome (€7 for a Coke) but you are paying for the rooftop views.

The rooms have shutters so there is no problem with light disturbing sleep and being off the main road (Via Cavour) there were no issues with noise either.

The hotel's location is perfect. Across the street to the entrance to the Imperial Forum, 5 minutes walk to the Coliseum, 20 minutes to the Pantheon. We will certainly be using this hotel again next time we go to Rome.

Room Tip: The low numbers for each floor (based on our experience on the fourth floor) will give better views...

We are glad to read that you have appreciated our hotel and its fantastic location.
The building of the hotel being an old convent, all the rooms have different sizes and, as you have seen, not that big as the US ones, but all with the "old-world charm" that you have appreciated.
We hope to see you back at the Hotel Forum for your next stay in the Eternal City.

This hotel could NOT be in a better location. It is across the street from many of the monuments and one block from the Colosseum. You are in the heart of everything. It is surrounded by restaurants and the hop on hop off bus is located just one long block away at the Colosseum. I was w a large family and had the opportunity to see 2 different rooms which gave me 2 completely different perspectives. One room, which Im assuming was their basic room had one window overlooking another building w a view of nothing really and was not very bright. I noticed the floor had not been cleaned, which had string, and dust which kind of grossed me out, but aside from that the room was clean. The other room was an amazing corner room with 3 large windows overlooking the monuments, full of sunshine and with two marble bathrooms, really nice. The second room was clearly a suite that some of us were lucky enough to get upgraded into. If money isn't an issue, Id ask for that room it was gorgeous. 302. The service was excellent from the gentleman who greeted us upon check-in to the lady who checked us out. Comforting to speak to staff who knew English well. I would stay there again if your goal is to be in the heart of sight seeing, in a nice, comfortable place for a few nights. If your goal is to stay in a large, grand place with a pool you may want to be farther out at the Waldorf Astoria or such. Lastly, I booked it with Expedia only to find it was almost $200 cheaper on the hotels own website and on booking.com!! Expedia refused to honor the price guarantee they advertise saying the competing website had to be based in the US and the other two websites were not.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the main street.

This HIDDEN Gem is down an alley from the Forums of Caesar. Across the street is Palentine hill, The palace of Victor Emanuel.. Also ,not far the Trevi fountain and the Pantheon..... Last but not least 3 blocks away from the Colosseum. The hotel was part of a convent and its old, cozy and has a rooftop terrace with an unbelievable view. The staff are well trained,,courteous and friendly. We loved it here and would return in a New York second..Cozy cafes open at night in every alley near by We highly recommend this hotel
