Overall this hotel is average. Stayed here with a tour group. Rooms were spacious. We liked that there are 2 doors. One coming into the room and another door to the short hallway and bathroom. This helps to insulate room from hallway. The dinner and breakfast here was actually quite good. Cappuccinos are from a machine.
However when our tour manager was showing us locations on a map, her bag with all her valuables, electronics, and money was stolen while we were in the lobby!! This was done in a matter of minutes and the employees didn't really seem to help or acted in alarm. We know this is Rome and your guard should be up at all times. We were in complete shocked that this happened to a local Roman and not to us tourists. This isn't really the fault of the hotel but they could have offered to help or look surveillance videos. Next time, I'll stay closer to the city center.

We stayed at the Mediterraneo while over-nighting in Rome during a cruise and it worked out very well. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. It was an easy 15-minute or so walk down to the Forum and the Colliseum, Trajan's Markets etc - and the train station is about a block from the hotel, for venturing farther afield. We had a very good dinner in the hotel's rooftop restaurant with a spectacular sunset and the included breakfast was good. Nice art deco decor and the hotel has some interesting WWII history since it was built in 1938.

Returning from a 10 night E. Med. cruise we stayed at this hotel for two more nights in Rome. If you book this hotel please spend the money the extra money to upgrade to the Deluxe Double or Deluxe King rooms as the standard rooms are rather small and cramped like many hotel rooms in New York City. The attention to detail and the art deco décor is amazing. The is simply superb. They do go out of there way to make you feel like this your home.
The "complimentary" morning Buffett is OUTSTANDING! If you can't find something for breakfast on this buffet your crazy.
On the other hand...... the rooftop restaurant and small.. I mean 5ft long, small bar is not worth the money. I would rather have an alfresco dinner down the street than pay the high rates that this restaurant charges due to being on the roof. It's great for a drink. Even at that it will cost you about 40 Euros for two drinks. That's like 15 US dollars each.
The rooms are very clean well appointed and great for one two or three nights or more. Rates for hotels in Rome are very expensive and this hotel as well as it's sister hotels in the area owned and managed by one Italian family is great and they keep these hotels in fine working order.
No it's not the Westin nor the Marriott but the rates for both of those are about half more to double the price of this hotel. It's also near the train station which is good for traveling.

We stayed for 3 nights in September 2013. The room was fairly clean, but the beds were hard and lumpy. The breakfast buffet was terrible: the scrambled eggs were runny, the bacon was raw, the coffee/espresso/etc. machine was not user friendly, and the wait staff were very cold and unfriendly. The wi-fi was a joke -- even the front desk staff couldn't get it to work. The location is good, as it's within walking distance to a Metro stop and lots of restaurants; however, the street noise is quite loud (we were on the 5th floor). Don't risk ruining your vacation here.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location was great and in a very pretty part of Rome, and not all that far from the attractions that we went to. We had 2 twin beds in our room, which were very short and very hard. The pillows were also very hard. The breakfast buffet was marginal. The scrambled eggs were runny. The coffee machine, which dispensed coffee, hot water, expresso and cappucinno, was located right in the doorway and because it was so popular, it was a very congested area. Other than these 2 things, the stay was nice and the hotel was clean. The staff was not very accommodating, kind of grumpy. We asked for change, to get some smaller Euros for tipping and they would not give us change.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with different beds, if they are available.

Great place to stay that is clean and friendly. It is full of charm and the staff is helpful. Choose a room that is not near the elevators. They are a bit noisy. Breakfast was nice. Wifi was unusable.

The service and rooms need improvement, also no activities at the hotel.

The good points is the location near to everything you need
Also the breakfast was perfect meets all requirements and they close it late which helpful for people who wake up late
