Just back from 4 nights at this hotel which was ideally located to Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and the Metro. Room large, with balcony and street view. Staff very helpful especially after we had been victims of pick pocketing on the Metro.
Breakfast was as expected and whilst our evening meal was good , didn't think it warranted the price, despite the 10% discount given to residents. There are several other cheaper restaurants within a 10 minute walk with even nicer food.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room choose one overlooking the rear, however front rooms great for watching ita...

Hotel Imperiale is highly recommended for back packer & leisure travellers. The location of the hotel is just steps away from Metro train & bus station, 10 mins away from Spanish steps and very close to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon! I would like to commend Maiko from reception who made our stay even enjoyable. She was outstanding, efficient very helpful. If ever we come back, more likely we choose this hotel again!! Someone like Maiko makes huge difference.

We arrived at the hotel to find that they didn't have a room for us, although we had booked the previous month and already paid in full! We were told that there was a "Technical problem" with our room, but they had booked us into another hotel for one night that was just around the corner. Just around the corner was up 65 stairs in the middle of the heat of a Rome afternoon, walk 100yds, turn right for 50yds, straight ahead for another 100yds and then another couple of turns!! Just around the corner is was not. However when we finally got into our room, the following morning, it was beautiful. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is perfect, with most places like the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon all within walking distance. We did take the underground to the Vatican because we wanted to be there early in the morning and took the tube to save time. Breakfast was plentiful and the staff were very friendly. The food in the hotel's restaurant was very good, but you had to wait too long for it. Although there are some excellent restaurants nearby.

If breakfast and coffee matter to you give this hotel a swerve! Dark brown stewed coffee in a huge urn. This is Italy renowned for its cappuccino! How can this be in a hotel charging £200 per night for a tiny room and a self serve breakfast of food that had been sitting around for a few hours. The fruit was poor and the scrambled eggs had had the taste beaten out of them by the fatty bacon lying in a tureen next to them. By the time you had waited for the toaster to brown the white bread you had gone off the whole idea of breakfast. Its hard to create a good service culture but this hotel has it - how disappointing then that the they couldn't get the rest right. If you are on business don't stay they don't have plug in broadband in the room. Tips: Ask a waiter for an espresso at breakfast and he will make if fresh. Stand just outside the main front door and walk a few yards to the right and you will get free wifi. don't eat at pavement café outside the front door to the left

This lovely hotel, is nicely funrnished with helpful staff and is perfectly placed to see lots of the sites in Rome. Breakfast was fresh and there was lots of choice. It is a short walk from the Spanish steps with two metro stations within a 3 minute walk and plentiful restaurants around it. I'd stay again.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 4th floor so not traffic noise

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION: The hotel does not have free wifi! Moreover, it charges between 3-7 euros (depends on where you book your reservation) per night(!) that only applies for one device at a time. Just another scheming way to make more money...
I think that after paying hundreds of Euros per night, the wifi could have been free, at least in the lobby area – especially when most of the hotels in the city offer free wifi services.

Putting that aside, the hotel is pretty good.
Location is great – right by Bernini square, a walking distance (10 mins) from the Trevie fountain and the Spanish steps.
Lively, beautiful area.
The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean.
Breakfast is good – variety of breads, pastries, cheeses, fruits, sweets, drinks – very tasty.

As for the service, the blond receptionist who welcomed us was very rude, received telephone calls while we were in the middle of the process of checking-in and after a long flight…
It felt like she was being nice only to the Italians guests and ignored everyone else – a few other couple staying at the hotel with us felt the same…
The night service and everyone else were very polite and helpful – so I guess combing them together I would give them an average grade for service. Although it didn’t feel nice to always have to wait for someone else at the front desk because she always blew us off or not even say hello when we pass by the lobby (everyone else did and it was so nice!).

In conclusion – great location, rooms and breakfast. The level of service depends on who is at the desk. Take in consideration there’s no free wifi so the final payment will be a few dozen euros more than what you have intended on paying…

The hotel located at via veneto, 10 min walk from the Spanish stairs and trevi Fontaine. The rooms are nice but a bit old. They have a serious problem with wifi. It costs 7 euro each person and still doesn't work very good. The staff, especially the receptionists, are so nice and helpful. You should ask for room 420, it has a huge balcony
