We stayed at Duca D’Alba in December 2013 and cannot express how lovely we found this hotel. It’s in an amazing location right round the corner from the Coliseum! The staff at reception are very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are on the tiny side, but it would be a sin to stay inside and not explore Rome so this didn’t bother us at all. There is also a metro station opposite the hotel which makes travelling round Rome incredibly easy. The breakfast served in the morning is great- no complaints at all. Would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Rome and would definitely stay there again myself.

Thank you very much, Shanna344.
You write a wonderful review four months later to your stay, this means that your good memories of your stay are deep, for what you say about Rome (thank you for enjoying this beautiful city) and about Hotel Duca d'Alba. It seems you got all our key facts: the location (transports and beautiful places at your fingertips) the devotion to our Guests, our breakfast. Our rooms are not that large, although we have some rather spacious (also Junior Suite and Annex) but each of them is individual because the building has its own history and mood and any rooms welcome our Guests in a very clean, comfortable, nice ambiance.
Thank you for recommending Hotel Duca d'Alba and for planning to come back, we would be happy to help you book your room on our official website or directly to us to allow you finding the best offer.
With best regards,

We stayed here for 4 nights over the Easter period. We walked here from Termini station which was a pleasant walk and the hotel is a stone's throw from Cavour metro station. Warm welcome at reception and instantly helpful with all our queries. Booked us into an Opera show, vatican museum tickets and good advice. Elisa and the young gentleman particularly helped us so much and made sure we experienced the best out of Rome. Really attentive and friendly.
Our room was facing the main street however it had quad-glazed windows and noise was not an issue for us. All the basics we needed like AC, a safe, a few toiletries and slippers all provided. Small room (not an issue as hardly spent time in here!) as expected in the heart of any major city and modern decor. Breakfast was good but repetitive.

Excellent location to Colloseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. We actually walked everywhere as within a 15-20 walk from all the major locations like Fontana de Trevi and Pantheon, but either way well connected by Cavour station. Great local nearby eateries from gelato to small bites and delicious home cooked authentic restaurants.
Perfect place to soak up the true atmosphere of Rome, would highly recommend to friends and family and would definately stay here again.

Thank you very much for the amazing feeldback, Dear Sabandsanj.
You re-confirm our perfect location (monuments, small alleys, restaurants, shops, bars, and -very near- subway, buses, direct connections to Airports and Termini Station).
Elisa and Christian, as well as Tatiana, Angelo and Romeo are prompt and happy to help our Guests in their needs, from itineraries to reservations; we do our best to help them with any issues. Thank you for appreciating.
You write about the windows, thank you again: Hotel Duca d'Alba is an elegant, small House in a very characteristic area of the old Rome and the alleys are really nice and very lively: this adds charme (and services) but could be causing some noises; this is the reason why we supplied windows facing the street with a system of duplicated double glasses: tranquility in rooms without losing the possibility to enjoy the cheerful voices below.
Thank you for enjoying eveything and thank you for saying your beautiful time in Rome was not spoiled by the size of your room in which you had any amenities anyway.
We are sorry you felt Breakfast as repetitive: it is such only if you mean that our daily menu does not change (although new food is offered depending on the season; we take care of the freshness of the material we use) but the offer is so wide, so many tastes to try that you can choose everyday as if you were sitting at a table in a restaurant.
We hope we have the chance to see you back and we highly recommend you to book from our official website choosing rates, offers, packages available only there or please contact us by e-mail.
Warmest Regards,
R. Giorgi

Location - excellent. Only a 5 minute walk to the Colosseum and Forum. There is a metro station at the end of the street. The area the hotel is in (Monti) is really good - lots of restaurants and bars and a really good ice cream shop just next door!

Just like other reviewers have said, the rooms are tiny - we were in the main hotel and the rooms were very very small. But then we were only in them to sleep - there is so much to do in Rome that we didn't spend any time in our rooms and so it really didn't matter. Rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms.

Breakfast in the hotel was good and Reception staff were helpful, especially Christian - thanks!

I would go back and stay again.

Dear Ben F,
You are an expert reviewer and we see you are very skilled in balancing the situations. We acknowledge our rooms are not very large (some of them, on the other hand, since Hotel Duca d'Alba also offers Superior Rooms, Junior Suite, solutions for Families and also the Annex option: apartments located in a typical private condominium a few meters from the main building in the beautiful Monti Area) but you seem to be focusing the answer: in each room our Guests have all amenitites to enjoy a good time in Rome, perfect cleanliness, comfortable bathrooms. On top, our quality breakfast.
Christian is proud of your words and any other Staff member enjoys because we all wish to be our Guests' reference in Rome.
Thank you so much, Ben F. We would be happy to welcome you back and we invite you to browse our official website to catch, only there, the offer that better suits your needs or to contact us by e-mail.

ust got back for a 4 night stay, what a gem! Such a great location, everything was on my door step, metro at the bottom of the street, colosseum 5 minutes walk, was surrounded by plenty of bars, places to shop and eat. Such a quiet back street but so vibrant at the same time, enjoyed having a few drinks out side the hotel and just watching people go by.The hotel was lovely and clean, breakfast was lovely although there wasn't a toaster provided, but made do with the sandwich toaster. Staff at reception, very knowledgable of their area and very helpful and like everyone else says always welcomed you with a friendly smile, and that's all you want really. Would I stay here again, oh yes, the hotel had everything I needed and the location was just perfect!! We walked everywhere, other the vatican city where we caught the metro. I will be recommending to family/friends.

Dear sukitechie,
we thank you for saying everything in your beautiful review: location, atmosphere (both quiet and elegant inside the Hotel and lively in the nice alleys with plenty of restaurants and small shops), cleanliness, our top-notch breakfast, our Guest-oriented attitude (because you are Friends..). Hotel Duca d'Alba is proud to be ideal to any kind of travellers: lonely, couples, families..
We wish to explain to readers the matter about the toaster: among the facilities our Guests can use for their breakfast, there isn't a traditional toaster but a different device made of a hot plate where bread can be placed whilst a heated top plate will be laid upon the first:; the same result as a toaster but a wider range of kinds of bread to be used.
Thank you for recommending Hotel Duca d'Alba and thank you for ever coming back: we invite you to book directly to our official website, to find the offer that will be ideal to your needs among those you will see only there, or by e-mail to our booking dept.
Sincerely,
R. Giorgi

First visit to Rome and Duca D'Alba selected after much research. It couldn't be faulted! Conversion of historical building in lively Monti with many restaurants and cafes in area. Walking distance to all major sites but with the added convenience of metro stop 300 meters from hotel. Spotlessly clean, good breakfast but the highlight for me were the staff. Every staff member whether reception, restaurant or cleaning helpful and cheerful at all times. The reception team was standout and all genuinely friendly despite, I'm sure, being asked the same 'touristy' questions ad nauseam!! A couple of pre-arrival email questions were answered within hours and during stay they were always ready to help and advise. Annex rooms in the building adjacent to main hotel are spacious and quiet. A thoroughly enjoyable time at a hotel I cannot recommend highly enough

Room Tip: Annex rooms are brilliant

Dear Guest,
Your wonderful review is so perfect that we can add nothing to your description of the building, of our staff, our peculiar location in one of the most beautiful areas of the "old" Rome, a few steps from the massive Coliseum, the huge Forum or the small Fontana dei Catecumeni, a gem in the lovely Piazzetta della Madonna dei Monti. We can add nothing to the feedback you share here about our Annexes: private apartments disconnected from -but very near to- the main Hotel, they are hosted in typical buildings of the heart of the city and allow our Guests that sweet "local feel" that turns their holiday into a true roman experience.
Thank you for recommending Hotel Duca d'Alba, should you ever come back, please.. book directly to our official website or contact us by e-mail: as you know, our Staff promptly answer any questions.
