“Fantastic discovery, great food, fantastic value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2012

Myself and my partner have just enjoyed a lovely meal here (literally left half an hour since!) And on returning to our hotel room and lookin the restaurant up we are shocked by the reviews.

We came across the restaurant by chance whilst lookin for somewhere close to our hotel / the termini due to sore feet. We came across Aquila Nero which had a great menu, was very cheap and was heaving. A good sign.

We had to wait around ten minutes for a table but were served beers at our request outside whilst we waited.

Once seated our order was taken quickly and the food that arrived was hot, plentiful and extremely tasty. To begin we had garlic bruschetta, tomato bruschetta and a salmon crostini. All fantastic but way too much for a starter - our fault not theirs!

The mains were once again plentiful and delicious. Scampi fettucine and cognac. Beautiful.

We enjoyed two small beers each and a litre of house wine and were granted with a bill of 45e.

The house wine was so nice that at only 8e a litre we took a bottle home with us too.

Would highly recommend... Although maybe not for an intimate, Romantic meal. The tables are quite close!

“A nice local place”

The staff were very charming and ready to serve. It was a nice place for pizza and wine before heading out for the night.

“poor restaurant - tourists trap - acchiappa turisti”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 November 2011

Don't go there.
The pizza pasta is so thin you can see through it , you need at least 2 to fill your stomach.
Frittura mista ,there is more breaded pasta than squid meat in the rings...
Vino della casa : well, no comment....

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 September 2011

We ate here a few times on our visit to Rome. The restaurant was always busy with tourists and locals ( a good sign). The pizzas here were the best I had on my trip and my husband said that the ragu sauce was outstanding even better than that he had in Bologna( home of the ragu sauce)
The staff were friendly and the prices reasonable.

“Worst meal in Italy”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 September 2011

Check the reviews. This restaurant gets people in but fails to deliver quality food. Our antipasto was terrible - not with a bit of olive oil but swimming in cheap olive oil that was accompanied by stale bread. The veal scaloppini with mushrooms was overcooked, the mushrooms terrible, and the sauce had 'split'. This was our worst meal in all of Italy. It has a very poor wine list.
