“Nice Hotel but not as expected!”
Reviewed 5 September 2009

We stayed in this hotel in the middle of July for 3 nights. It was our first time to Rome so we wanted somewhere central. Central it is. Check in was quick and the staff very helpful and pleasant. The room was very small in comparison to other places we have stayed. When people say they couldn't swing a cat, the were describing the rooms here. Thankfully that's where the complaints stop, Aside from the small room, everthing else was as expected, the breakfast room was well stocked with a great selection, the hotel's roof top bar/restaurant was simply lovely, very romantic and the bar man makes great cocktails, Hotel was centrally located, within distance of all the sites with the exception of the vatican (get a taxi). Overall a good stay and would recommend it to a friend.

We stayed 3 nights here and chose it based on the reviews here and because it had a free mini bar. Probably also, as we travelled with our two children we were able to book a room that comfortably slept 4 people. The room we had faced Via Nazionale and even with the window / door open to the balcony was very quiet.

Everything about this hotel was great - service was excellent, rooms were a good size for Rome, location was good for most of the major sights - we walked to Fontana Di Trevi with our kids and back from the Colleseo also.

The only things that could be improved is possibly the breakfast - I found it a bit uninspiring and the choice a bit lacking. Irish pub on the corner provides a good value option if you eat before 3pm for lunch.

We would stay there again

The hotel was within walking distance from the station, so don't brother with a taxi. Most of the main attractions were easily reached on foot, only used the metro to go to the Vacation. Our room was clean and really appreciated the free mini bar after a long day sight seeing, also the air conditioning! The roof terrace was charming and provided a cool and pleasant end to the day.Staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay again on any future visit to Rome.Breakfast was very good, staff attentive.

Artemide Hotel was an easy walk from the Metro station and was very clean. The room and bathroom were small, but nothing different from most Italian hotels. The people at the front desk were always kind and answered any questions we had. I would certainly stay there again if I return to Rome.

My husband and I stayed at Artemide Hotel for four nights and would like to give our thanks to the hotel and especially Matteo from the hotel's front desk for saving our stay in Rome. Upon our arrival to FCO airport we found out that Alitalia had lost our luggage. As non-Italian speakers we relied heavily on the hotel front desk to coordinate with the airline to recover our luggage. They were very helpful, calling the airline multiple times for us before we finally got our luggage back.

Our room was very spacious and clean. All the amenities were replenished daily. The breakfast at the hotel was very good and we received excellent service from the breakfast staff as well. The location of the hotel is OK. While it is within walking distance to many points of interest, we would opt for a taxi back to the hotel after a full day of walking around the city.

We chose this hotel because of the past reviews on service and cleanliness and it exceeded all of our expectations.

This was our first trip to Italy therefore, researched a lot of hotels, read all the tripadvisor reviews and chose to stay at Artemide. Although, the hotel is very nice and centrally located, the service left much to be desired. The room is nice and clean and the minibar is a great plus and so is the breakfast but, don't look for any concierge service.
Why I was disappointed with the service, you ask...
-Tried to get some restaurant recommendations from the front desk, the person was able to recommend 'one' restaurant in all of Rome close by which was closed. Asked for some club/lounge recommendations, was told to goto Campo di Fiori which was great but, didn't have any clubs or lounges.
- Decided to get a bottle of shampagne from a local store, figured I'll be able to get a bucked of ice by calling the front desk. Unfortunately, they pointed me to the ice machine at the gym and asked me to get the bucket from the bar at the terrace. Just felt a little strange carrying the bucket of ice from the bar to my hotel room!
Overall a good stay, will still recommend the hotel but, I guess when you go with high expectations, the tendency to get dissapointed is somewhat high as well. Also, it all depends on your individual experiences.
