“Excellent city centre weekend break hotel”
Reviewed 30 March 2010

We have just come back (28.3.10) from a three night stay in this excellent city centre hotel. From here you can walk everywhere after a very filling and varied breakfast. All the staff are very friendly. We stayed in a standard double room which was very clean and well appointed and so quiet for a city centre hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived at the Artemide very tired after arriving on the delayed over-night train from Paris. The hotel was very conveniently situated only 5 minutes walk from the station, and even though we arrived 3 hours prior to check in time (expecting only to be able to leave our bags) the reception staff quickly checked whether our room was ready, and checked us in.

For a central hotel in a city not renowned for its value for money, the room was spacious and excellent value for what we paid. The bathroom was also roomy and very nicely equipped. It was lovely to have the free "mini-bar" which was stocked daily with beer and soft drinks, and there was also a good range of snacks and hot drinks in the room. We were also given a voucher each for a welcome drink of either coffee or sparkling wine, which we saved for day two which was my husband's birthday. We exchanged these for a very respectable glass of prosecco each.

Breakfast was good, with an excellent range of fruit juices and various pastries, breads, cheeses and meats as well as yoghurts, cereals and fruit.

There was a business centre and a fitness suite which we didn't use as we were fully focussed on relaxing! The only thing to be aware of is that there was a charge to get the internet/wireless connection which wasn't clear from the information we had seen in advance. However, this was a flat rate for the stay which was quite reasonable if you needed a lot of usage, and we found an "Irish Pub" down the road where you could use the internet for 15 mins free of charge, which was fine for us.

All the staff we came into contact with during our stay were friendly and helpful, and I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a central point in Rome.

Myself and five friends have just returned from a city break in Rome staying at the Artemide Hotel. The rooms/bathrooms were very spacious and clean and bed linen and towels were changed daily! The staff were extremely friendly and they all spoke very good English. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the free mini bar in the room (replenished daily) was an added bonus. Also, the Hotel was very well situated for both sightseeing and shopping. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to anyone and I would definitely stay there again. :-)

We have just returned from a four night stay at this hotel and every comment on the previous reviews are true. The hotel is in a fantastic location, the staff are extremley helpful and friendly and as well as the free mini bar you also get a free drink on your first visit to the hotel bar. The breakfast is wonderful, the rooms are large and very clean with bed linen and towel change every single day. We really can not speak highly enough about the hotel.

If you require transport for up to 8 people from the airport or a limousine service at a very reasonable rate e-mail [--], they are much cheaper than the regular airport taxis.

My wife and I stayed at Artemide Hotel for 6 nights in February 2010. The hotel is within a 10 -15 minute walk from Termini, and about a 5 minute walk from the Republica metro station, so it was easy to get around. The room was comfortable, clean and a reasonable size (even by American standards). The included breakfast was great and we were able to eat enough to keep us going until mid-afternoon. The cappuccino was excellent, and I miss that I can't get coffee like that back home.... The hotel staff was helpful, and our minibar (which is included free of charge) was refilled every day. Free wifi was also included (although I have seen several reviews that said that there was a charge for wifi, and the hotel's website isn't very clear on the topic either...). It was nice to be able to look up restaurants in the area before going out, so I would recommend bringing your laptop with you for this purpose. This was our first trip to Rome, and it is a must see for anyone who has not had a chance to visit yet.

My family stayed here for 5 nights (2 rooms) in March and enjoyed it immensely. They don't nickel and dime you -- the minibar was free as was the wifi (although the wifi did not work with my ipod touch, for some reason. We paid 12 euros for unlimited internet service in the business center for the length of our stay -- very reasonable. I don't understand why more hotels don't adopt this policy. Breakfast was excellent -- a lot of variety (though the scrambled eggs were runny...).

While the location was convenient to pretty much all that Rome has to offer, the via Nationale is a bit like staying on Lexington Avenue in New York (and that's not a compliment). Not too many great restaurants in the area, and it wasn't conducive to strolling (though it was perfectly safe). But our rooms were in the back and were very quiet

Great people working there. All in all, an excellent stay.

We booked the "No Frills" room because the price was so low, but upon arrival were upgraded to a normal double room. The room was wonderful, large with lots of storage space, free minibar and coffee/tea and snacks, desk, flat screen TV, and a large bed. The bathroom was very nice with a full sized tub, very clean and in excellent condition. The staff at the front desk helped us almost daily with different questions. We booked a car to take us to the airport at 4:30 in the morning, and it arrived on time and it made the trip so easy - much easier and more trustworthy than a taxi. The room was incredibly quiet and once you shut the black out curtains, very dark also so it was easy to sleep. We walked to everything - even the Vatican and Trastevere! I very highly recommend this hotel!
