“Great location with a few minuses”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

The Hotel is located in a wonderful area so close to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Crypts of Capachin Monks etc, even just a short walk to Colosseum and ruins but there are a few things which make it not the best place to stay.

We had 4 nights here (14th - 18th May) and had 2 rooms (313 + 314). Room 313 only had a bath and no shower (It did have a showerhead), so we showered in the other room. Room 313 also was VERY noisy - each night we were able to hear the Jesus Christ Superstar musical which went on past 10. On the weekend they also had matinee shows so again the music could be heard then as well. As we were so weary from over 4 weeks of travelling and long days in Rome we were able to sleep but if you were a light sleeper you would have troubles.

Wifi was hit and miss in the room but it could generally be connected to in the hallways near the Breakfast room. Speaking of Breakfast it was nothing special at all, cereal (1 choice), bread, cake, croissants, cold ham and cheese. There was no Toaster available. We stayed in 9 hotels throughout Europe and this Breakfast was the worst.

Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Only for the friendly staff and convenient location my rating would be lower. If you got a quite room, and happy with cold dry bread for Breakfast etc this is a convenient place to stay.

Room Tip: Don't choose room 313 very Noisy and no shower (only a bath).

We booked this hotel based on other reviews in Trip Advisor re location and value for money. We only had 3 days in Rome and wanted to pack in the major sites in that time so ease of getting around was paramount. This hotel is close to Spanish Steps and within walking distance of all main attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful. Yes, our room was tired and the breakfast area pretty basic but it was good value for money. Breakfast is what we'd have at home ie cereal and toast which was adequate. Guests required to leave key at reception when going out each day which was a first for me, but this was for security as no electronic keys just a regular door key so leaving key behind and having to ask for it on return means they knew who was in hotel. Good value compared to other expensive hotels in this location. Location more important than cooked breakfast or up market room. We had triple bed room 17 on street front so a little noisy at night but it added to the ambience!

This is a good choice for a hotel if you're on a budget and don't want to travel too far for visiting major attractions. The rooms are little old and worn out, but come with basic commodities. Breakfast is nothing special, but keeps you full until lunch time. The staff was friendly and the bar is a nice place to grab a few drinks before going out to eat or a nightcap. Word of warning, the rooms can get very hot during summer and at least the A/C in my room didn't work properly. Fortunately, early June wasn't that hot.

Ok this had a good location but don't expect much in the way of being an updated hotel. Very old and very typical of an old European hotel. We did get WIFI and the cold breakfast was just fine. Would not want to stay any longer than the one night.

Room 310 was perfect for me, at the back of the hotel, away from the street with a double bed, space to unpack and a nice shower.

Staff were great when I asked for an extra hour before checking out, and gave this without charge

Room Tip: Avoid the 01 room i.e. 201 and 301 etc as they are right next to the elevator door

I stayed with my parents for a few nights and the hotel is clean and very well placed in Rome, if you want to walk to all the sights, about 500 meters to both Spanish steps and Fontana di Trevi, for instance. They should win a few points if they bought a bigger toaster, since the 2-at-a-time toaster is to small, but over all, The small elevator made it kind of time-consuming to go to your room when the hotel is full, but hey, time is all we got, especially on holiday=) I´d like to recommend this hotel. I had a room to the street, and it was not disturbing with the traffic, which surprised me a little. Somewhat dated interior in the rooms, but you get what you pay for, no surprice there. Nice and welcoming staff made the stay extra pleasant.

We had problem with our hotel and they sended us to Hotel King, we asked to see the room, it was dark, and didint match the value for the room, when we asked if it is possible to get discound receptionist started laughing, when i asked why is it ao funny she made few replys and we felt mocked. When i politley asked if i could speak with the manager , she started shouting in Italian and throwed us of the hotel. VERY unprofesional staff, poor room quality.Would not recoomend staying there.
