“Great hotel for location, value, atmosphere, and friendliness of staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2010

This hotel is in an absolutely perfect location! Couple hundred meters from both the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. It's in the center area next to Barberini Square so easy walking distance to the Coliseum and other major sites. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful with every question I had - right down to finding a good place to party at night! Every need I had was met promptly and sincerely - everything from finding my way around to assisting me with the tour-guide agency to handling the details of my ride to the airport. Very nice experience staying there. The only thing I could make better was how hot the room was at night. Almost too hot to sleep and the AC didn't seem to work.

Excellent place; friendly, informal and welcoming staff. Two minutes takes you to the top of the Spanish steps and probably the finest view of the Rome skyline to be had from the centre of town. Lovely terrace to have breakfast on!

Hotel King has absolutely lovely staff which made the two day stay really special. The rooms and public areas are comfortable and the bar is distinctly retro chic! - in fact it is a welcome oasis of calm after the noisy, hectic streets of Rome. All in all this is a good hotel for those looking for a comfortable, centrally located yet not over priced hotel in Rome.

Entrance & lobby design feels you had made the right choice, this impression later changed when cross the room’s door; we stayed at (306). Like a hell, floor carpet and wallpaper are disgusting, bathroom had very old design, bad accessories amenities, the air conditioning not working, certain areas had been renovate, and breakfast choices are limited but staff keep smiling. It not deserve it value (140Euro/nt).Our "travel agent" had booked us there for 3 days. As a result, we didn't check-out, photo on the web Big different from mine. Hotel is few minutes walk from Spanish steps, many restaurants down street with quality.

I booked this hotel for three nights, and stayed for one. I spent the remainder of the trip with family outside of Rome and was terrified that I would introduce bed bugs into their home. In walking through the hotel, it appeared as if certain areas had been renovated, which may explain any decent reviews this hotel receives.

My husband and I spent three days and two nights in this hotel to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better place. Every single member of the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the level of service topped what I've experienced in more expensive hotels in every way. The very sympathetic bartender even took out a few hours of his personal time to show us around some of the less obvious touristic sites in Rome!

The location is perfect, with all the major must-see sites easily reacheable on foot. As for the rooms, like another reviewer wrote: "if you want it to be like home, stay at home". No, I would probably not decorate my house the same way as the hotel room, but the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was not particularly noisy apart from what you'd expect from a room in the city centre of a big metropolis.

All in all, a big thumbs up from us, especially to the staff, who made our stay there more than worthwile. If we ever go back to Rome, we will definitely stay here again.

Bathroom was nice and tidy, wchich floor was so cold that we could save our foods there. Towels changed every day. The room and bedclothes was from 1950. If you need only sleep and wash youself take this hotel. If you wont to enjoy you staying and if you need internet connection in the room, keep avay from here. Also if you love sweet breakfast this is your place but if you love healthy food this is not for your. Situation is good. Metrostation is rather close (300 meters) and Spanish steps are about a half kilometer from here. The table on the wall told that the price of the room is 200 euros per night. We paid hardly 1/5 of that and it was too much. Personality was very pleasant but however they told lies about internetconnection. I would be accepted all if wlan would have been worked.
