Small rooms but tidy and helpful staff easy enough to get taxis everywhere and walking distance to Spanish steps.
The ladies at breakfast were lovely and really efficient. I found catching a taxi reasonable and cheap to most places.

We stayed 3 nights at hotel. It is located about 5 km from Vatican and a bit closer to Forum.
Not too bad but quite a walk. There are buses but we haven't tried them.

Rooms are clean but very basic. wi-fi is free bu slow and unreliable at times.

Breakfast had night selection on first morning but then on the second morning, a lot of things were missing (eggs, fruit...) and they were hardly coping even to serve milk with the coffee.

If the likes of the Savoy or the Ritz are too much for you; if all you want is a clean, nice hotel in a safe part of town; or if you need comfort but not luxury, then the Oxford Hotel is the right choice for you. The Oxford shows you can have a lovely sojourn in Rome without busting your budget. I know it because.I was there with my husband last week and our experience may be useful to you.

The Oxford is not a large hotel, but it is very, very conveniently located, a fifteen minute walk from Via Veneto, if addresses impress you. It is on a (relatively) quiet and safe street. Cabs are easy to come by, as there is a fermata (stop) nearby. The lobby is attractive, if not impressive, and it has a restaurant and a bar with tables either inside or on the sidewalk. It has a good kitchen, so you can count on good Italian fare near your room. The elevator is small--not a unique feature in European hotels--and the rooms are not large by US standards, but you will be comfortably installed and the bed was also comfy. The bathrooms are impeccably clean, if not large.

The staff of the Oxford is just about the best I've encountered: polite, warm, and helpful. We were welcome the moment we stepped in; When I expressed doubts about our first room, the concierge promised to help and lived up to this promise. In a matter of hours we were transferred to another more to our liking. When I needed information, they were ready to help. when I inquired about a place to have dinner, they indicated several restaurants in the neighborhood. We went to two in the next few days and they were excellent choices If we needed a cab, that was no problem, they called one for us more than once. Kind, sweet people, who came to the entrance door to see us off and to thank us for having stayed with them.

I vouch for the quality of the hotel in terms of cleanliness and safety, as well as its location. Rest assured my husband and I are picky when it comes to these attributes. It's not a glitzy place, so keeping that in mind, I definitely recommend it. We had the essentials and then some at the Oxford and we were happy there. Anna Lucia.

Room Tip: The rooms are between average and good only by comparison with US standards. They are not huge, but otherwise comfortable and clean, as I indicated.

Have just enjoyed a fabulous four night break staying in this hotel. The termini for picking up the hop on and hop off bus is a 10 minute walk, Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps about 15 minutes. Although there are hotels closer to the main attractions this is a lovely hotel in a fairly quite location, great staff, lovely places to eat nearby, (recommend Melrose around the corner)nice clean rooms (without and tea or coffee facilities in room though) and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

First things first , a big thank you to Roberto who picked us up from the airport. We could not of made it to The Oxford without him.
The hotel is very beautiful , friendly helpfully staff. Room made everyday , air con on. Full breakfast included is a must . Fresh fruit, cereals, hot foods choices of meats and cheeses, home made cakes and pastries and the best coffee.
Evening meal is a must to try as well. Thankyou Antonio for a splendid Chianti and antipasto .
The Oxford is close to the city, great to walk to and from the centre of Rome and all the sites.
Thank you all.
